How to Open Gate B

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone.  I've seen some confusion regarding Gate B, mostly from new players (including me, when I was new), who don't understand how to open it or think it's broken.  I don't think anyone on here has put together an explanation for this (sorry if I missed it), so I decided to throw together a short guide for it.

Required item: Level 4 Keycard

Step 1: Turn off the Remote Door Controls, located in the electrical room in the entrance zone.  Normally, the MTF Commander will turn the Remote Door Control off at the start of the round, as that is the only way to open Gate A, so as D Class you can usually skip this step.

Step 2: Talk to SCP-079

SCP-079 is the computer located in the Heavy Containment Zone (If you have played as SCP-076-02 or SCP-1048-A, their spawn room is his containment chamber).  Approach the computer, and the face on the screen will appear.  He will give a monologue, but at this point, you don't need to interact with him anymore.

NOTE: The only way to access SCP-079's containment chamber is if the Remote Door Control is off.  The door will slam shut on you if you try to open it when the RDC is on.

Step 3: Return to the Electrical Room in the Entrance Zone.  Turn the Remote Door Control switch back on.  If you have done everything correctly, you should hear SCP-079 say "Thank you" after you flip the switch.  At this point, you can open Gate B as long as the RDC switch remains in the On position, turning it back to Off will re-enable opening and closing of Gate A.

Hope this helps, good luck!
