Hi everyone. I'm here to announce that Leks has parted ways with CS:GO and has made the switch over to CS:S. He will be joining forces with Reeve as a second Division Leader, and it is our hope that with Leks' help, the two of them can make the Division better than ever.

Please join me in thanking Leks for his service on the GO side and congratulating him on the move.

I've been a fan of Leks.  Parabens not sure if I can spell it right.

Do you guys have plans for a dedicated CS:GO Division Leader.  Director/DL has never worked in the past; not sure if we can expect for anything different should this be the plan.

Hi @Joshy. Ash and I work together on a lot of stuff, he takes care of a lot of stuff a Division Leader normally would. Also with how the current system of Directors work in the sense that we all have separate duties, I do not feel burnt out at the moment.

If things change in the future and I feel that a second Division Leader would be helpful, it will happen. I'm very happy with our current managers, and most of them are very much independent. However, I do not want to make anyone Division Leader prematurely when it's unnecessary to do so.

The problem with this way of thinking -- in my personal opinion -- is that it's very reactive.  It waits for it to become a problem; that's when it's very difficult to recover.  I  see a huge critical gap it's one of your biggest divisions along with GMOD and has some of the bread and butter servers, but even in the Community Representative thread the initial plan is to not use TAs as a CR or directly as Council members, but your response here suggests that the plan is for a TA to carry out very important role as an effective DL.

Directors (and I'm not saying you in particular) have had an extremely bad history of feeling burned out.  It's not to say that you are or promise that you will feel that way, but just taking a look back...  I think these concerns are very fair.  CS:GO DL in the past have also been very controversial and difficult shoes to fill.

I recommend you strongly consider another DL that is dedicated to those servers right away.  Again, repeating my personal opinion: I think this is a really bad mistake and foolish to repeat it again.

    Edit:

    Just do the right thing.

    Thanks! Pretty close, it’s Parabéns.

I have quite a few things planned for the division and am planning to not make any core changes that would affect the CS:S community in any negative way. My main goal is to improve the players experience overall and hopefully integrate them further with GFL as a whole, sort of to showcase everything we have to offer as a community :)

Edit: I just wanted to let know that one of the main reasons why I’ve decided to step down from the CS:GO scene is because I simply don’t enjoy the game any longer. I’ve found myself playing CS:S more often than GO. Moreover, CS:S as a division is way more lax in terms of needing management, which is something I’m not very fond of as of the past few months.

While a just concern, I will assure you that my work mostly consists of stuff regarding CS:GO. I've taken steps to ensure that I have less on my plate, namely promoting two co-managers for Surf Timer and consulting with Ash for help quite frequently. I wouldn't worry about it. I know what I'm doing and I feel less stressed about shit currently than I did in 2015/2016 a lot of the time when we had three Division Leaders.

The reason why I can divert so much time to GFL currently is because I work from home. When I have less time for this stuff, I will be looking to add another Division Leader. I'll have quite a bit of time to evaluate this ahead of time.

Ash is a special case. I wouldn't really compare him to others -- I'm sure anyone who has seen him in action would agree.
