Regarding the On-Going Community Representative Election

Hello all,

Unfortunately, we’ve recently had to disqualify one of the Community Representative candidates due to excessive hostility towards the other candidates. Community Representative is a staff role with elevated access and a responsibility to work well along with the existing staff of the community. A large part of this is proving that you are capable of abiding by the code of conduct and acting with integrity, including during the election process. 

From the GFL Staff Code of Conduct that all Staff members are expected to abide by:

    B. Treat players and other staff members with respect at all times.

    C. Act professional while interacting with players and other staff members. You are allowed to joke around, however public hostility, excessive shit talking, and other behaviors that may be detrimental to GFL’s reputation as a community will not be tolerated.

This is not a decision we take lightly as we wish for the Community Representative process to be a reflection of the community’s wishes, however, we also must ensure that our staff team is able to uphold our community values. 

We will extend the time frame for voting until December 4 at 10 PM CST. Everybody who voted for the individual in question will be allowed to recast their vote.
