  • The Return of CSS ZE!

    I'd like to add a little clarity to the rumours spreading about CS:S ZE/RU community returning.

    I'll refer to GFLclan.ru as RU and GFLclan.com as GFL to make this easier.

     

    Juky (whom some of you may remember) had got into contact with @Roy as he had some concerns with keeping the server hosted on their end. They then discussed the possible return to us, and before that decision was finalised, there were some terms from both ends.

     

    • Juky, Shinigami and Botox will, at this moment in time, remain banned
    • The server will be moved to our OVH server and the plugins will be recompiled to ensure the servers safety
    • Current permanent VIPs within RU will transfer over to GFL
    • The server will be having 2 server managers (@Dogan and @Backy) from within the RU community—Soft Serve and Vanya’s official ranks are still under discussion
    • The current server rules and admin team of CS:S ZE will remain as they currently are
    • As is currently the norm, global admins (Council/DL/TA) will also respect the rules within that server and will ensure that if they are to join the server that they familiarise themselves with said rules

     

    There are also a couple of points I will mention. For instance, due to the current issues within RU, the donations from RU will not be transferring over to GFL; this is in relation to the issue above about hosting the server. There are also discussions happening to unban Juky (he would not be given a rank), as thanks for bringing both communities together and to enable him to continue playing on CS:S ZE. Feel free to comment your opinion as well.

     

    These are the majority of terms which were discussed and are relatively simple. We would like to ensure that CS:S ZE isn't altered as much as possible, as we don't want to alienate the current players.

    Overall, we believe this is a good step for both communities in burying the hatchet and moving on. I would also like to thank the RU members who have been involved within these discussions, especially Juky, who initially brought this to us and helped find common ground between the communities.

     

    This means that we will start seeing people from RU getting involved within GFL over the next few weeks, I'd love if we could make them feel welcome and get to know each other as one big community bound by a common interest!

    Their community is build on That server while we have others aswell. And honestly I Can see it from their perspective aswell. They worked their asses off for That server and wanted to ensure it's survival. They've managed to do it for 2 years and are still alive. That's pretty amazing. I Can only imagine what could actually be done if we worked together. 

    Sure it wasn't Nice to take the server but must I remind you of your own episode?

    For real though I hope this merge goes smoothly. As someone who has been a regular on CSS ZE and CSGO ZE, I would really like to see both servers help each other out. For those of yall on CSGO ZE I HIGHLY recommend trying out CSS ZE. It's a little different from what you are used to, but still very fun. CSS was recently price dropped to $9.99 on Steam if you have not bought it yet.

     

    (I may come back to CSGO as well so be ready :nepsmug:)

    A popular server that was one of GFL's first. I assume it still holds meaning to Roy personally and maybe other old community members still here. Also, it likely provided a large amount of the money needed for GFL to expand back in the day (it is still successful and provides a lot of funds to sustain itself). Not to mention resolving a long-term issue (or at least beginning to attempt do so) and restoring a balance that was lost by dividing a large part of the community.

     

    Don't worry though, some in the .ru community feel as if they aren't getting anything either.

    Some people here are taking this too personal, you should all be glad that CSS ZE is coming. Stop being negative about it and move on. I'm sure @Backy will do a great job and CSS ZE will be like it used to be. Just myself I joined GFL because of CSS ZE, so I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for CSS ZE. It will definitely bring people back to GFL.

    Neither of the first 2 things mentioned was done by us. I don't know what lies you were told or assumptions you have made. Please go read a summarry of what actually happened.

     

    Yes people in charge of the C:SS servers did something very wrong by doing what they did by force, but at the time they acted hastily and did what they thought was the best move to protect our specific servers. Once again, pay attention. The 3 people involved, all of which are good people but made a bad decision, are at this time not even allowed back in the community. The rest of us didn't even have a say in anything, and we were just suddenly told this was happening. Naturally, we stuck with our servers and kept playing our game.

     

    Please try to be a little more open-minded and up-to-date with your information.

    Pretty sure the forums being fucked up was due to Roy's incompetence and had nothing to do with .ru
