    -About Me-

Howdy! My name is Scott, or if you're very old, you might remember me as yuptodat. I have been around GFL as a staff member since early to mid 2019. Before that, GFL was nothing more to me than the CS:GO surf server I was on in between university classes. I wasn't even aware of the other divisions GFL was comprised of. GFL CS:GO surf mostly kept to itself back then. That was until one of my surf friends (@ReaperJK) became a surf admin and pushed me to apply too. Suddenly all of these social networking connections between servers and divisions kept popping up, and I was here for it. Over the years, I have made many friends across the divisions of GFL which is a beautiful thing that I'm grateful for. I also like pie and coffee.

TL;DR for About Me: Been here since 2019. Made many friends. I'm happy :]

    -Platform-

Many online communities, whether it be for gaming or anything else, have the same problem. They are typically only ran by a select few which can often cause them to make decisions that don't align correctly with the community they initially cultivated. This is the goal of the Community Representative role and thus will be my platform. My ultimate goal, if elected, would be to bring your ideas, issues, and complaints to the council for discussion. I plan on having announcements before council meetings to let y'all know to send your qualms to me. My inbox and discord will always be open so I don't want anyone to feel like their issue is too small, let me know!

Even though this is my platform, if you think there is someone that can do this better than me, vote for them. This is an important election and an important role.

    -Past GFL Roles-

I suppose I should give you my GFL role history.

    CS:GO Surf Timer Manager

My first server management position. @FrenZy gave me this role a long with @Dini. I didn't last super long as a manager here. Zoned a few surf maps here and there and kept on top of our admin activity. However, there wasn't much for me to do, Dini had everything covered (he goes hard on Zoning and map stripper configs, you should have seen the google sheet doc). The role was essentially a one person job, so I transferred to the TF2 division! I'm glad I got the chance with this role though, it taught me how to be a server manager in GFL and I established the cake vs pie debate.

    TF2 Hightower 2 Manager

This is where I really stretched my legs when I was finally given freedom. There were a lot of issues plaguing the server and I believe I tackled a good chunk of them. Navigating the controversial RTD issue and shop balance was an exciting challenge. I even tried some wacky ideas like enabling bhop and demo-gardening. Unfortunately, university at the time forced me to relinquish my role as I was too busy to focus on the server. Fortunately, someone even better stepped in to take over. Hightower 2 always experimented with custom maps, especially seasonal ones near New Years. @Cuasi took over and took it to the next level. Being a dedicated custom mapper, HT2 is in a better place than with me there.

    TF2 2Fort #1 Vanilla Manager

This is the server I manage now! There wasn't any competition to get this position as far as I'm aware of. I'm pretty sure I was the only one who wanted it. There is a reason why though, this server is pretty much perfect anyway. There isn't much to do besides monitor my admin team and appeals. The only big thing (if you can call it that) I worked on so far is enabling a vote scramble in the game chat which I'm pretty sure no one uses. This is fine by me, because it gives me more time to be your Community Representative!

    Admin in <insert here 🙂>

    Spoiler

    Too many to list...

I still have my CS:GO surf roots as I'm still an admin there. I also have a history of being an admin in the now defunct CS:GO AWP 24/7 (miss ya @drink) and I was even a KZ admin even though I'm absolutely the worst at KZ! The KZ admin was basically honorary as @Infra needed someone to help him test maps and his timer.

    -Final Words-

I mentioned this before in my post but please, please vote for who you think is right for this job. If it's not me then it's not me.

Regardless of who you vote for, thank you for reading either part of this or all of this!
