Favorite Movies Of The Year

Recommended Posts

Posted  Edited by Quint

As you can tell by my name, I'm a movie person. I thought I'd rank off my favorite films this year and if you'd like to add yours, go ahead.

1.) Blade Runner 2049

2.) IT

3.) Wonder Woman

4.) Dunkirk

5.) The Lego Batman Movie

6.) Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2

7.) Logan

8.) Kong: Skull Island

I'm seeing Justice League this Friday, review will be posted if you want.

I haven't really seen many movies lately but

It and Logan were really really good

I didn't like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 as much as the first, I had to pee and the scenes were just dragging on for so long that It was so unbearable to just watch, some scenes were funny but some didn't make sense either.

Wonder woman was also really cool too

IT- one of the best horror movies I've seen in recent times.

Logan- Finally a serious R rated marvel movie!!!

Thor: Ragnarok- Movie didn't take itself seriously and I loved that about it!

But my all time favourite movie has to be The departed or any Quentin Tarantino movie.

Dunkirk was probably the most boring movie I've ever seen not sure how so many people liked it.

Hey @Quint, I know sometimes it's hard to keep track of what you do, but, sir! This is the mUnTIbU.png sub-forum!!!

Moving to Off-Topic.

Oops, still getting a feel for the place; thanks Leks!

Yeah, I have to admit, I started freaked out the first time the Stuka's came flying down.

I forgot about IT; that movie freaked me out. I hate clowns with a vengeance and as soon as it started, I just thought "Yeah, it was a mistake to see this, but no going back now." I screamed when Pennywise got huge, while my brother in the seat next to me burst out laughing. He does that.

I was mentioned in a book on Martin Scorsese, interestingly enough. Haven't seen The Departed in a long time, but Tarantino can be pretty good (love Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill and Inglourious Basterds).

I understand that about Dunkirk; it's not your average war film or film in general, there's a lot of unusual aspects to it.

Take your time; they are making a sequel now. All I know is it involves Cable, a school bus and a giant panda. As long as Wade doesn't fondle this one, I think we'll be okay.

Yeah Kill Bill and Inglourious Basterds have to be my favorite tarantino movies but all his movies are masterpieces. Could you expand on what you meant by

It was quite boring to do with the storyline, but I generally liked it tbh.

I know the author of a book analyzing Scorsese's films up to Shutter Island called The Passion Of Martin Scorsese. I'm in the acknowledgements. If you look for it online and go inside, check under the "online peeps" she thanks. My name in my off-line life is there. I met her through Facebook and she's been a big help to understanding Cinema.

The characters, Nolan said, were meant to be flat and for some, that was too much. Since I'm interested in a lot of things World War II (my Grandfather I think was on the Missouri when the Japanese surrendered), I'm kind of biased.

Jigsaw takes home the prize. Without giving away too much, the writers always manage to come up with incredible plot twists that no one would expect and yet hint towards it throughout the whole Movie. The story in the saw franchise is so astonishing and captivating.

It depends on the category of 2017 to me

Early 2017(January to May):

- Logan

- GOTG vol. 2

- Beauty and the Beast

Summer 2017 (June to August)

- Spider-man: Homecoming

Late 2017 (September - December)

- Kingsman 2

-----

I have yet to watch next 3 film - Star Wars, Justice League, and Thor. If this thread is active enough, I will update it. I've watched Despicable Me 3 in Summer this year and it wasn't that good. Maybe next time.

Did Rogue One or Fantastic Beasts come out this year?  I really liked those two.

I think a lot of people like Logan, but I did not :(

They didn't but that's okay.
