SCP-001 Sheaf of Papers Contest:

Hello folks! Don't worry, this is a completely different kind of contest from the last one. Instead of flexing your skills of luck and rapidly running to the escape while screaming about gift cards, this one is flexing your creativity! SCP-001 Sheaf of Papers is one of the oldest SCP-001s on the site, and it keeps generating new articles. As such, for this contest you need to create your own new playable SCP for the breach server. It can be a hostile SCP, or allied to any other role that you wish. You are not restricted to what exists on the site for ideas(and in-fact we suggest you avoid the site for this one), go wild!

 

Please read the following guidelines first, and ensure you follow them. There is also a suggested format included as well, but you don't have to use it.  Just ensure that your submission is easy to read. All submissions should be made on this thread in posts. Please keep discussions unrelated to the contest to a minimum. If you wish to show your support for an idea, feel free to react to it with emotes.

 

The contest winner will get themselves one month of VIP on the GFL breach server, as well as having their idea added to the server under the name SCP-Redacted(In order to avoid stepping on the toes of any additional scps written in the future). Please note that if we decide that none of the ideas submitted would be good for the server in terms of gameplay or server health, or for some other reason, we can choose to not add your idea to the server. 

 

Guidelines:

1. Make sure your suggestion is clear and easy to read. Proper grammar and spelling helps greatly in this, and in general makes it more appealing to read.

 

2. Please include a link to a model. As this is completely your own original ideas, finding a proper usable model should not be as difficult as it normally is. Please make sure your model is actually a player model however, as we can't make much use out of a Ragdoll or Prop. 

 

3. Feel Free to link existing Gmod addons alongside your model and suggestion if they portray the kinds of abilities you would want your SCP to have. I would suggest making sure the add-ons in questions work properly in multiplayer and don't cause any issues however. 

 

4. Try to avoid making your suggestion a SCP article that actually exists. If those are already good enough to be added to the server, they would likely be added on their own at some point. This contest should be focused around your independant ideas for what the abilities of a good playable role would be.

 

5. This is not a back story contest. While there is nothing stopping you from making some elaborate SCP article and submitting it as a contest entry, this is focused around the scp's abilities and functions, not what its backstory or story would be. 

 

6. We will not accept obviously meme ideas, such as Sans, Pepsiman, or Donald Trump. I'm aware some of the SCPs on the server has reached meme status for the models they use(SCP-334) or by their very nature(SCP-3331 being John Cena), but I would like to avoid most of these for this contest. This does not mean you cannot submit a role that is intentionally on the silly side, but please keep it within limits and don't just suggest Big Chungus.

 

7. There is a limit of two submissions per person.

Name: SCP 2042-01

 

Team: SCP

 

Abilities: This scp carries a noose and is able to hook people from a short distance away, stunning them while also being able to move and interact with doors and making them take damage until someone else shoots them or damages them, with a small but significant cooldown. Secondary includes an AOE that is able to stun players around them due to the loud opera singing coming out of their vocal cords. Due to the SCP-2042 article, there can be 40 different SCP 2042's at a time, enabling a live system like 076-02, even though he is assumed to be the build and size of a regular human. This SCP also has high intelligence, being able to play the organ and violin, (also starred in a musical). This should enable him to be able to work keycards and regular items alike the build of SCP-035 ig. SCP 2042 wears a mask, and when damaged enough, his mask may be too damaged to wear, causing his abilities to upgrade, enabling a faster walking speed, can no longer be damaged when punjab lassoing people, and due to his hideous facade, all human characters (and Scp 999) will slowly take damage.

Abilities: Can summon forth a shadow claw that can deal 10-15 damage (no cooldown). Can also charge lasers that deal 10 damage each but loses accuracy based on distance (20+ second cooldown) 

 

She has 200 health, a radio, always has lvl 3 access similar to Scrubs, and she cannot pick up any items.

Include her on Area-02, and Site-19 unless too OP.

[Redacted] was a member of a cult dating back to the 1800's. Back then, many secret cults were formed to worship animal gods in hopes that they would be granted immortality. After a ritual gone wrong, [Redacted] was given destructive powers, including the ability to manipulate shadows and summon crystals that create destructive beams. Consequentially, her face was turned into a hog, and she was in a permanent contract with the foundation to follow their bidding. After accidentally killing the entire cult, she was discovered by the foundation and has helped control containment breaches ever since.

Abilities:

  • Wields a samurai's sword and is able to bind to a single person that will serve as their lord.
  • Sword does 30 damage on hit and is able to negate some damage when blocking.
  • If their lord dies they become a Ronin and are unbound becoming hostile to all classes.

Name: SCP-{REDACTED} / "Inescapable"

 

Team: D-CLASS

 

Abilities
This SCP support the D-Class escaping, but it cannot escape itself.
500 Health Points, it is hostile to MTF, Researchers & SCPs ( including Serpents Hand ).

SCP-REDACTED looks like a normal D-Class model, however it has one curse. It can not leave the Foundation, but it seeks to help other D Classes to escape.
It spawns with a Level 3 Keycard & a special pistol. It can not pick up other weapons, except for grenades. This pistol does -40 damage, but it has a lot of recoil & reload time.
It's right click is able to break glass, and it can not trigger SCP-096's rage mode. It can still be one shotted by other SCPs though.

If SCP-035 is being moved to the SCP team, this will be the perfect alternative for D-Class. It's a rare spawn like 035 is/was.
Since D-Class have no SCPs to help them now or the odds are heavily stacked against them, this will give MTF & Researchers a new worry in the future,
helping with balancing issues if 035 is taken away.

Abilities: SCP-178 (3-D Glasses) will be updated, having an extra purpose of acting as a Night vision goggles, being able to be put on and seeing the entity Scp-178-01. There can be multiple SCP-178 goggles, without the bonus of being an SCP object at the end of the round. It can be triggered temporarily  so the user will be invincible the short duration, with SCP-178-01 has the choice to teleport within a few meters of the user.The cooldown of SCP-178 could be no longer than 30 seconds, and can only be used about three times.

SCP-178-01 is able to spawn copies of itself in its current location that can damage enemies for 20 damage with only a cooldown of 10 seconds, which all human enemies will not be able to see until a small distance away, or can see permanently if wielding a 3D-goggle. These will be able to be destroyed, with only having a health of 100. SCP-178-01's starting health would be 600 health, taking 10 damage every time it spawns a copy. SCP-178-01 can break glass with it's secondary ability, which has a 10 second cooldown which lets the SCP damage all humans around it.

Confession im an idea person, (often bad ones) and I dont know for sure if what im suggested could be coded or done because well I know nothing of that side of Garrys Mod. I do know the fun side of Garrys mod and believe this or something similar would be fun addition to Breach.

 

Name: Scp-[Redacted]-02

 

Description: This former human, now an SCP constantly changes roles/forms. In its staring/default form it is neutral to all and unarmed.(Thus very vulnerable). The SCP's ability causes it to randomly switch to one of a few roles like D-Class, Scientist, MTF, Serpents hand (Could optionally add CI,020,035,TRO Dr.Maynard or more). The Scp is now essentially that role and has the same enemies and friends and neutrals as that role normally would. The SCP can allows change its role when the cooldown on its right click cools down. (something like 2-3 min)Additionally after a set amount of time (maybe 4-5min) it will automatically reset to default form. The Scp can pick up items and guns like humans but when  the Scp transforms they lose all items and get the scp-knife and a level 3 keycard. The default form either has no items or can deal no damage. The SCP has lower health around  035 but can use healing items it finds. 

 

The idea behind it is to create a role that frequently changes who its aligned with. One minute the Scp is basically with the MTF shooting at D-Class and Scp two minutes later it is now D-class trying to kill the MTF to escape. The person playing the SCP has some control over when they switch but ultimately will be forced to randomly swap roles when they are reverted to normal form. They again only have the knife scp item (same one already on server) and a keycard when they swap, meaning they may want to choose when they switch roles carefully and will want to look for stronger weapons every time they swap.  This way while it can be fun to try to swap roles and back stab your now former allies there is quite a risk to it.  

 

Team: Changes with Form/Role, Default form is Neutral meaning anyone can attack it

 

Abilities: The Scps right click has something like a two minute cool down, when used the right click will change Scp-[Redacted]-02 form/team randomly. After set amount of time reverts back to default form (maybe 4-5 min)

 

Model:  It doesnt really matter what model is used for the default form. I like the idea of using the Error player model (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=758458016&searchtext=error) as it would be kind of funny. Other than that its model would match its current role, all of which you guys already have.

  Personally my favorite thing about Breach is the randomness/variety of outcomes each round that comes with having so many different teams. I a Scp like this would add to that, as annoying as it is when the MTF Saving you is actually CI or when that other scientist you've been with all game gets a gun and shoots you cause he was Maynard the whole time, it also makes the game more interesting and fun. You never fully know who to trust. You can watch a friend who is this Scp become an enemy or vice versa. Newer players as this Scp can try to change roles to survive an SCP or MTF thats about to kill them.(Again its random so good chance theyd still become a role MTF or Scp would kill). Experienced players as this role can switch wisely and potentially increase their kill count with bloody risky role swapping betrayals. 

 

Again sorry if this is hard to code/do or impossible to do and a waste of time idk if your cable of creating this even if you wanted to. I know like humans can be switched to 049-2s and back so it might be possible or eay. Either way sorry if reading this was a waste of time. -Not Mudkip

- This scp can throw 2-4 boulders that deal 25 damage each (10+ second cooldown)

- When you have 3+ players in your direct line of sight, those players are highlighted and can be seen through walls by you and other SCPs for 10 seconds.

- On kill, gain +5% bullet resistance (OPTIONAL)

SCP-[Dark Magician]

 

Team: SCP

 

Abilities:

 

Passive damage with an AOE similar to SCP-334

 

Right click primary heals the target SCP by 10 points 

 

Cool down for this ability is 30 seconds

 

Left click primary will do damage only to gates and windows similar to 106 and 049 and won't hurt enemies.

 

Speed: 939

 

Health: 800

The idea here is a healing scp whose defense is a passive AOE that hurts enemies, it's primary function is to help it's team by healing but it can also use it's passive to kill enemies.

SCP-[Good Soldier]

 

Team- TRO

 

Abilities

 

Functions as a tank similar to  NU-7

 

A regular guard unit that has a rare chance to spawn but is incredibly durable.

 

The unit can use all items except healing items.

 

The unit is not capable of wearing a vest

 

The unit has bullet protection equal to NU-7 however suffers no speed debuff using the regular walk/sprint speed of a normal guard.

 

This unit will spawn in rarely as 1 enemy rather than a group task force.

 

It will have its own special weapon

Description:

 

This SCP is a knight that wields a battle axe (similar to Abel) and has enhanced speed and damage. He starts with 500-800 HP (depending on the number of players) and has the same speed as Abel. He can attack with his axe using left click and deals 20 damage per swings. His ability (right click) is to throw the axe for a big 30 damage. However, the SCP needs to pick up his axe in order to use it again (similar to Abel, but the axe will no reappear in his hands and will instead stay on the ground until the SCP picks it up). Note that only the SCP can pick up the axe, not some random D class walking up an hallway. 
 

 

Special ability:

 

When the knight dies, his helmet or axe (Haxray will decide) will fall on the ground. Now, there is two possibilities, but the final choice is up to Haxray. Choice A: Random person walks into the helmet/axe and it resurrect the player that was SCP before dying. Choice B: Random person walks into the helmet/axe and the random person becomes the knight. If one of the two choices happens, the knight will reappear with only 400-600 HP (again, depending on the amount of players). The damage and speed stays the same.
 

 

Final comment: 

 

You may have noticed that this concept is similar to 323. I found the ability of 323 very interesting, but unfortunately, he got removed. So I wanted to bring back this original concept and give it a bit of a twist to make it more balanced and enjoyable to play. Any modifications is to be made to this SCP and the final choice is up to Haxray, as he knows more than me what will be more balanced.

Abilities:

  • This SCP has no form and unlimited power, giving it the ability to fly and move through walls. Noclip Ingame.
  • Able to create anything from thin air with some limitations. Able to use the spawnmenu to spawn in guns, keycards, items, hostile npcs, and possibly nextbots. Spawn limit should be set to 20-30 objects at any given time. A counter should be given to track how many items they've spawned or what other players have taken from his spawn pool.
  • Before the SCP can use any of its vast power it must place down its soul upon the world. Will first need to put down an entity that is shaped like a metal box/sphere that acts as its body. It is able to put this down anywhere in the map, but only on valid structures. (Like at least a floor) The entity should also be quite large to spot it if its placed somewhere obscure. The SCP's health should be set to 1000, since it will be unable to move it and gives the SCP time to react if it begins losing health.

Notes: Based on its crazy abilities it might be a good idea to make this a special round only, where it spawns in with just d-class or tro. Will probably need to make a simple SWEP to put down the entity, but I think you could use the toolgun for a lot of the other stuff.
