Expanding the Arsenal for Omega-9

If you played Quake III Arena before, you probably know what all of these weapons already do, but I'll give a brief description of each for those who have not.

 

Shotgun- Standard stuff. Fires a spread of pellets most effective at close ranges.

 

Rocket Launcher- Similar to the grenade launcher, the rocket launcher fires explosives that are capable of doing splash damage. However, the Rocket launcher's projectiles travel in a straight line rather than an arc at the expense of a slower fire rate, making it less useful for spamming. Essentially, the grenade launcher is better for corridors, while the rocket launcher is more effective in open spaces.

 

Lightning Gun- A weapon that fires a streak of lighting that does little damage, but had an incredibly fast rate of fire. It also has a limited range making it best for medium-range combat.

 

Railgun-  A weapon that fires a powerful, high caliber round that does significant damage and travels far. There is a considerable delay between shots making this weapon most effective at long ranges. 

 

Plasma Gun- Fires burst of blue plasma that does a small amount of splash damage, but packs a serious punch on direct hits. However, the plasma itself is a projectile making it easy to dodge at long ranges. 

 

BFG10K- A devasting weapon that fires deadly globs of plasma that are also capable of splash damage. Due to how lethal it is, Omega-9s should only have a tiny chance of spawning with the BFG10K (between 1%-3%).

 

Gauntlet- A decently powerful melee that can be used as a backup if an Omega-9 is low on ammo. Should be available for every Omega-9 alongside their gun.

+1, Pretty cool idea, but it would also be cool if 2639-A was changed to something similar in Quake 3 deathmatch: You spawn with 2 random weapons, and the gauntlet as a melee weapon. Might be unbalanced, though.
