  1. In addition to my last reply, we had a case recently where NFO blocked a player's IP on the firewall level due to something on their network/device performing port scans on NFO's IPs. This isn't allowed.

This may be the same case depending on the results and I would have to open a ticket with NFO to confirm.

I would recommend performing scans for viruses, malware, etc. on your device if possible. There is a possibility you have a virus doing this behind the scenes.

    Thanks.

  2. Can you try performing a trace route to the server's IP with the following command (Windows Command Prompt):

    tracert 216.52.148.47

Paste the results back here. With that said, can you private message me your IPv4 address which can be found here. I'd like to perform a trace route from the NFO server to your IP.

If it does time out, try pinging another IP from NFO's Chicago location. Example:

    ping 74.91.119.54

Please let me know how it goes.

    Thanks.

  3. Just an update on this case, we're currently handling this through PMs.

I plan to open a case with our hosting provider since it appears @WoRo is being blocked on their side. I will be doing so soon when I'm not busy with work.

    Thank you.

  4. @WoRo In addition to my last reply, would you be able to private message me your IPv4 address? You can find it here. I wouldn't recommend posting it publicly.

If you aren't using any VPNs, etc. I believe I already have it.

I would like to perform a trace route back to your IP from the server to see what results I get from that.

P.S. Also moving this to the Technical Support forum.

    Thanks.

Interesting. The last reachable hop appears to be located in Chicago (where the server is located). Would you be able to try to perform a trace route to 64.74.97.182 using the following command:

    tracert 64.74.97.182

This is another one of our servers on the same network. I'm wondering if you're unable to reach any servers in NFO's Chicago location which uses Internap.

If you'd like, you can also try performing an MTR to these IPs using something like WinMTR for Windows. An MTR is similar a trace route, but displays packet loss and continuously pings all hops. If you do decide to do this, please allow over 100 - 200 packets to be sent before stopping and pasting the results here.

    Thanks.

Can you also trying performing a trace route to the server using the following command in Window's Command Prompt:

    tracert 216.52.148.47

The server is timing out for you. This could be something on your side (e.g. your router or ISP is blocking the IP) or server-side (e.g. our hosting provider's firewall is blocking your IP).

Please let me know what the results of the trace route are.

    Thanks.

wtf do you mean working from home?! When you're taking trips, it means you relax or focus on your priority.

    I will spank you.

I'm not sure if I want to take two weeks off in the next two months for work to be honest lol. I do have unlimited PTO, but still lol. Seems like a bit too much.

The great thing about my job is I can work wherever I'd like as long as I have internet :)

    Thanks!

  8. Hi everyone,

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up I will be traveling on three different trips in the next two months due to the holidays. Each trip will likely last 5 - 7 days. Things will be similar to how they were on my business trips, I will have my laptop and so on but won't be able to play any games.

    Trips

    • November 17th - 24th - Trip to family home for Thanksgiving (will be working from home).
    • The week of December 13th/14th (not sure what days I'm exactly going yet). - Work holiday party.
    • December 22nd - 29th - Trip to family home for Christmas (will be working from home).

Expect a bit of inactivity at this time since I'll be catching up with my family and generally busy. I'll still be on quite a bit, though. I definitely won't be able to play games as stated above.

Also, I probably won't be active on December 10th since that's my 21st birthday and apparently my co-workers want to get me fucked up lol.

If you have any questions, please let me know!

    Thanks!

looks like GameTracker hasn't been updated yet, so this is a reminder that the server is already up and running on the new Canada location and the IP is:

    142.44.143.138:27015

I will be updating the GameTracker image soon and claiming the server. Most likely after work since it's busy today :(

    I will also point ze.gflclan.com to 142.44.143.138.

    Thanks.

Is the Canada server permanent for now? Or will we eventually switch over to the Dallas one?

I'm unsure if the Canada location will be permanent. That'll be up to the head admins, but I do believe they would prefer this location over Dallas because it has better pings for Europe players if I remember correctly. If we do end up wanting to move to the Dallas location, we'll have to make room for CS:S Zombie Escape on the GMCHosting machine if we do switch over which shouldn't be a big deal. Unfortunately, that machine comes with only 16 GBs of RAM.

We ended up not cancelling our GS04 machine in Montreal, Canada since we're using it for other servers. Towards the bright side, it has a stronger processor and more RAM than the other machines (Intel i7-7700K OC'ed to 4.7 GHz compared to Intel i7-4970K @ 4.0 GHz).

    Thanks.

    +1

Definetly worth a try, even tho: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Source-1-Games/issues/11

    Nice find! That's very interesting.

I don't recall having any stability issues when having this turned on. However, I'm not sure what goes into "missing frames". I wonder if there's a difference regarding stability in Windows and Linux for these commands because our CS:GO Zombie Escape server has these commands enabled but runs on Windows. With that said, CS:GO runs on its own modified version of the Source Engine as far as I'm aware.

    Thanks.
