  1. Hey @PrimitiveStalker,

Firstly, thank you for reporting that our European CS:GO servers were out of date. I have gone ahead and triggered an update for them. They should be up-to-date now.

Secondly, I would like to apologize for this inconvenience. I will be putting measurements in place soon to ensure our servers are kept up-to-date in the future when CS:GO updates are released.

    Thanks.

  2. Hi @ski1nny,

    Thanks for the report.

I will look into it and try to find their new IP. As I said yesterday, due to our server being "official", EA has restricted our administration tools. Therefore, we can't kick/ban/kill/move any players. The best I can do is just block their IP through the firewall.

I will let you know once I've found their IP again and blocked it.

    Thanks.

  3. I'm not really sure what happened but I appreciate you owning up to your mistake. It sounds like you made a post about yourself under another account for attention? Not really a big deal in my opinion but it is dumb. I did something similar back with another gaming community in 2010/2011 (I felt "disliked/hated" so I made a resignation post for attention and said "I'm joking guyz" days later when I wanted to come back). We are all dumb sometimes, especially when we're young.

Just learn and move forward :)

    Thanks.

  4. Hm, this is a tough one. The first kill seems suspicious to me. As @Omarock said, the kill at 1:25 doesn't count. I believe we're going to need more evidence. I will be on the lookout for this player.

Also, @GabbaGabbaHey, I'd recommend not telling anyone when you're recording them. They CAN see spectator's chat and may turn their hacks off while you're recording because you announce it.

    Thanks.

The server is back online! Please read this post for more details on why we had over a day of downtime.

    Notes

    • Moved the server from our VPS (cancelled) to our NFO machine. This will result in better performance.
    • Upgraded to SourceMod 1.9 (dev build).
    • Upgraded Shavit's Timer and built the plugins against the SM 1.9 build (required).
    • Cleaned up the server.

    Thanks!

  6. Hello,

The server is now back online and it did not take me long to find out what was causing the crashes after work.

Unfortunately, the issue was overlooked and actually quite a simple fix. We had a sourcemod.vdf file both in the addons/metamod and addons/ directories. SourceMod is a Metamod plugin and since the sourcemod.vdf was also copied into addons/ folder, it was being loaded as a standalone plugin. After removing the sourcemod.vdf from addons/, the server booted fine and didn't have any issues regarding spam and crashes when players connected. I do not know why it still worked fine with SM 1.8, but considering it was being loaded as a standalone plugin, I'd assume it wouldn't work correctly anyways.

Once again, I apologize for the downtime.

    Thanks.

  7. Hello,

I just wanted to address an issue regarding our CS:S Bunny Hop server. Since yesterday morning, the server has been down. Initially, I was switching the server from our VPS (Linux) to our Windows machine. The VPS is getting cancelled tomorrow since CS:S BHop was the only live server on it and our machines are currently under-loaded. Unfortunately, during the move process, something didn't go right with NFO's back end which prevented the server from booting up. A console.log file wasn't even being generated which indicated that a Windows library from SRCDS was most likely missing or a configuration error with the back end.

I had to open a ticket with NFO and ended up waiting most of the day for the CEO to look into it and fix the issue that prevented the server from booting up. Although that issue was fixed, a new one began. With the newest version of Shavit's Timer, SourceMod 1.9 is required. SourceMod 1.9 is a dev build and is considered unstable. After upgrading to SM 1.9 and recompiling the plugins with the SM 1.9 build, the server starts correctly, but it spams this in the console:

Unable to get callback interface for ""

With that said, when a client attempts to join the server, the server immediately crashes. After investigating and disabling certain extensions/plugins, it turns out a STOCK installation of SourceMod 1.9 still has this issue. I renamed the old addons/sourcemod folder and uploaded a stock installation of SM 1.9 and still ran into the issue. Please note, SM 1.8 works fine but is not capable with the timer plugin we currently use. I also built a stock configuration directory (cstrike/cfg) along with switching from the stable Metamod builds to the dev builds. Unfortunately, no luck.

I installed a stock CS:S server on a Windows VPS I have along with SM 1.9 + Metamod (dev build) and it appears to work fine. This means it is more than likely something with our server (custom files) or NFO's CS:S servers (less likely). This has left me completely stumped.

I will continue investigating this issue and I hope to find the cause soon. I will continue to update everybody on the progress.

I just wanted to apologize for this inconvenience and the downtime. I was hoping we wouldn't run into these issues but unfortunately it has happened. Moving from Linux to Windows has caused issues for us in the past.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

    Thanks.

The server got full pretty quick.  Looks like it'll be full for a long while, although I'm not sure how long I'll buy BF4 just for this

The server did fill up very quickly. I am looking into setting up another BF4 server that will be a 48-player Conquest Large server. Once we upgrade from the VPS to the machine (depending on if that second server gets population), I will upgrade it to a 64-player server.

    Thanks.

  9. Hello, I made a thread here stating I will be unavailable towards the end of the month. Unfortunately, as this time is approaching, more things are coming up and I have found myself in a tough situation deciding whether I will be able to balance time between my job, life, and GFL.

I have decided that I will be going on temporary leave starting on April 20th until some time next month. During this leave, I will not be disappearing completely like most leaves. In fact, who knows, maybe I'll still be on often at a certain time. However, my availability will be very unpredictable.

I will be giving more access to our directors which includes our mail account and access to the main NFO account along with other access. Basically, things will not need to rely on me once this access is given (thankfully).

I will be (fully) returning once my life and job are both stable. I am confident our current team will get a lot done soon and GFL will start heading in the right direction.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

    Thank you for understanding.

  10. I agree with @Omarock. This doesn't look like any sort of wall hack and they're literally just pre-firing (most of the time not being successful).

The grenade fail at 2:12 was pretty funny though lmao.

    Thanks.

@Roy Don't you still have access to that server that I asked you to borrow to GCC, with like, 32 slots? Or you used that to create this one server we already have?

That server is still on one of our European machines, yes.

    Thanks.

Change the server advertisements on the side to showcase the games, using the servers as examples. I.e "We also have servers on (insert game)! Check out: (randomized server for said game). It'd show that we're headstrong in expanding our horizon and not just winging it towards popular games.

I will look into implementing this into my Server Hop plugin that is currently on the server.

Add in roles system to replace the [US] tags. Since theres not much you can do to keep it fair for all but make vip/supporters feel special, maybe give small bonuses like a tag on the side, or jukebox (hive) access/priority. Always nice to find ways to get more donations in for more system shit.

I don't believe the server has the country codes plugin at the moment. Though, it would be nice to give supporters and so on tags. I'll think about this and see what I can do.

Put a challenges/record system in place. Keep it vanilla but add a way for bonus points or a level up system or something. Sets us apart from literally any other 4 person coop server.

At some point I will be adding GameME to the server.

As for new servers, unfortunately it doesn't seem vanilla L4D2 servers are as popular as I initially thought now-a-days even with matchmaking. I am very interested in making 10vs10 servers and if @Cas along with others are interested in helping out, that would be awesome!

I am also interested in a tank challenge server as I made one myself a month ago for friends and I to play on (made a plugin that white-listed only us).

    Great ideas! :)

    Thanks!
