[Third Boss Explanation]

On the Third boss you will be presented with 3 sets of information. Need some competant leaders to learn the boss pattern and gain confidence in calling these mechanics for people the shoot otherwise the event is doomed to fail.
The boss pattern for what hand needs to be shot takes information from the top, middle and bottom of your screen and takes some bit of "thought" process in order to select the right hand. Per roll of the dice between you and the wizard a number will be presented at the top of the screen. From the starting point where the arrow resides in the middle of the screen on that roll, take one move to the right before counting the number.
[Boss Abilities]
-
[The Numbering system] - Located in the top of the screenshot. After one move right from the starting arrow.
- I: One Hand to the Right
- II: Two Hands to the Right
- III: Three Hands to the Right.
-
[The Arrow Indicator] - For the hands in the middle of the screenshot.
- Indicates the starting point of the roll.
- Take one move to the right from the starting position.
- Then using the number system move either 1,2 or 3 moves to the right.
- This value will be the Hand you shoot to damage the boss.
-
[The Hands] - Which are in the bottom of the screenshot.
- Shot by the humans.
- Takes 3 successful hits against the wizard to beat him.
- 3 Failures however and the boss wins. Humans all die.
[Example Combinations]:
[Example 1]:
Number: III
Arrow: Red
Selection Process: Move Hand right one. So Yellow. Move 3 steps right. Green-> Red-> Yellow
Hand to Shoot: Yellow
[Example 2]:
Number: III
Arrow: Yellow
Selection Process: Move Hand right one. So Green. Move 3 steps right. Red-> Yellow-> Green
Hand to Shoot: Green
[Example 3]:
Number: II
Arrow: Green
Selection Process: Move Hand right one. So Red. Move 2 steps right. Yellow->Green
Hand to Shoot: Green
[Example 4]:
Number: 1
Arrow: Yellow
Selection Process: Move Hand right one. So Green. Move 1 steps right. Red
Hand to Shoot: Red
[Cheat Sheet]:
Sooooo you read my post, got bamboozled by it and are looking for easy references so you don't need to use your peanut brain? Fiiiine....
- 1: Current Hand -1
- 2: Current Hand
- 3: Current Hand +1
Wasn't so hard eh?
If you have any questions, let me know.

Just need some solid defense and should be an easy enough win so long as people do the following:
- Defend when told to.
- Fall back when told to.
- Keep microphones clear unless providing some knowledgeable insight into the map.
- Comfy Kit(Mandatory: Tea, Blankets, Biscuits & Paracetemol)
- Positive Attitude.
Map play through with commentary for anyone interested below. Added Spoilerino so it doesn't take up your screen or be mistaken for advertising.

sadly this event was ruined. the idea was plain beautiful but the execution was flawed, when people were crying about the level of dificulty. why the hell would you change the one single rule (third person only) just to make it easier. we have this on each other day. people were scolding me for pointing this out. this made me really upset. how can you be so stubborn and sissified to ease out of the ground rules? changing to first person contraticed the sole purpose of this event.
what you should have done in my opinion. let sahok go, claim it as a loss and continue with the next map. this wouldnt be the first time an event isnt "won". But in this case we would have stayed legitimate.
its like meeting up for a game of soccer and people start to pick up the ball with their hands. gfl you let me down today. SHAMEFUL

sadly tagging doesnt work. unorth after your appeal to our maturity days ago you scold me i am heartbroken (xD).
Not sure what you're on about. The event rules stated that if there is any issues completing a map the TP would be turned off. It was turned off after going 0-14 on Sahok _p2. It was swirtched to v1_e6 or whatever and TP was turned back on.
I don't recall scolding anyone apart from telling people to turn the beacon on and actually defend?

Set your shaders to high. Able to see ample enough detail when set to high for multiple nades not to be an issue.

I was going to write a post about what keeps me playing ZE, it would have been short, boring and rather untruthful given the current circumstances which is affecting not only this community but the overall ZE community in general. The past few months Ive pushed myself further away from ZE across all servers for a number of varying reasons. I could rattle on about map pool (go make a map yourself) or make some outlandish comment about settings, defending or some either meaningless topic that is bland & hasn't been said before.
The main reason I have been moving further away from ZE community itself is the people. The community is full of arrogant egotistical assholes who are so fixated on their own ego driven agendas and elitist circle jerk that they cannot see the untold damage they are dong to the overall ZE community.
The maturity level of your average zombie escape regular is reasonably low. Lets be frank. The average of most regular ZE players hovers around the late teens early 20s. With some outlying exceptions player characteristics such greediness, self entitlement and insulting behavior as the average method for people to express themselves or to vent when things are not going there way. On a daily basis there is a constant level of drama and bickering over clans, items and ability to dodge laser expressed by your average zombie escape regular. Be it classified as "tryhard" or "casual" this is a double edged sword and there is people from both sides of the coin who are guilty of this.
I have seen people victimized in circumstances such as people being finger pointed for "skipping lasers" or other petty shit that may seem like a joke at first, but a lot of you tend to forget that people log into a video game to escape from reality. They come to chill out after a hard days work or to have fun playing a game they enjoy. Hearing one person belittling another for no other reason other than "for a laugh" or that the person "deserves" it is not and should not be tolerated by either the direct GFL community or the wider ZE community. Sure a joke can run for a couple of days and usually it can be funny for a week at best, but if you lads seriously think 6 months of telling someone they are shit is "funny" then I am sorry but you are part of the reason why ZE has not taken off in a bigger way given the global reach counter strike has in terms of player population. The average age in the community is very low, demeaning comments about a video game can have untold affects on the person behind the keyboard. Mental health is a serious conversation and anyone who continues to target individuals in the community on a regular basis should be called out.
CSGO like CSS before it peaks at a relatively low value for repeating players. If you look at the statistics of unique player hits via steamid's on gametracker you could be looking at anywhere between 10,000 - 30,000 unique vistors per month. Of that id say about 25% of those players relog back in to play a second time. Taking 20,000 as the median thats about 5,000 people who decide to try ZE more than once. The return rate after 10 visits drops off relatively high with only ~10% or 500 of those 5,000 per month converting into regular players across all community servers. This is a very low value given the divide in time zones, peak hours, server distributions, language barriers and ping. Given the turn over rate of players also leaving the game due to stagnation for various reasons this is not a healthy model for maintaining yet alone growing the overall ZE community.
ZE is a team based game. Pure and simple. Yes ZE has trim mechanics which will result in the deaths of a new player if there is nobody there to tell them of that fact well in advance. Contributing to the drop off of players and stagnation of "new to regular" ratios is the fact that people are unwilling to sit and teach people how to survive and complete a map. There has been a rise in people "claiming" leadership qualities who are only capable of reminding players of mechanics they already know from playing the map before. Partial tactics, false tactics and staying quiet to achieve the "appropriate" trim to complete a boss so the map can be beaten only drives no players away. The argument that they learn by doing does not stand true when you look at the statistics. From a median of a guesstimated 20,000 per month only ~500 of these people actually stick around long enough to have even played a map twice. Shitty mentalities towards achieving your own screenshots is the reason why people are dropping off this game mod. Team wins that gives ample opportunity for new and regular players alike is what motivates new players. Team wins such as the paper escaper win with a load of new players is far more rewarding than winning Tilex ultimate for the 20th time solo because you practiced the laser mechanics offline.
This is not a rant where I decide to point fingers and recall specific members of the community up on there actions. I am simply highlighting certain examples that I have seen in my travels in GFL and beyond where by the behavior of high profile members in the community continues to have a profound affect on the overall ZE community and as a result keeping it the small, toxic and an unhealthy environment for new, regular, casual or try hard players to have fun playing over an extended period of time.
As a whole the ZE community has a long way to go before it can take off. Team play and coordination needs to happen at a day to day level and peoples attitudes need to change in order to attract new players in. Otherwise 2-3 years down the line the ZE community will be severely lacking in player population, servers, map development and community.

Hi all,
So one noticeable thing that has "irked" me for a while has been the feeling of input lag or "concrete blocks" attached to feet when moving on GFL. This goes beyond normal latency which hovers around 120-150 for me given my location. I have played on similar servers and not experienced this on other servers so in an attempt to fix this I did a bit of research on the matter. This may not be common knowledge so I thought I might post my findings on the forum for others to hopefully benefit from also (if it doesn't well sorry for wasting your time: ( ). I am not experienced in the source SDK nor an expert on CSGO's network infrastructure so someone may correct me if I am wrong with any of the info below.
As a baseline, GFL's current setup has 16.0/s up and a cmd of 32.
As of last year, Valve recommend for the following download speed setup you should use the "rate"configuration to match your download speed:
.5 Mbps – rate 62500 1.0 Mbps – rate 125000 1.5 Mbps – rate 187500 1.57 Mbps – rate 196608 (New Default) 2.0 Mbps – rate 250000 2.5 Mbps – rate 312500 3.0 Mbps – rate 375000 3.5 Mbps – rate 437500 4.0 Mbps – rate 500000 4.5 Mbps – rate 562500 5.0 Mbps – rate 625000 5.5 Mbps – rate 687500 6.0 Mbps – rate 750000 6.2 Mbps > – rate 786432 (New Max)At some point someone who have tweaked there configs for playing csgo at some point may have increased there rate value to 786432 based on some arbitrary guide on the internet or from pulling some professional players config for match making/competitive matches in an effort to reduce lag or tweak performance. Otherwise they are using the nice and friendly 196608 value which is for all intensive purposes safe given the up/cmd values of the server.
I have setup a bind which can be used to test this yourself to see when bhopping the difference between max rate and "default" or below rate on the server.
bind "F4" "toggle rate 786432 128000"Toggling the key bind between the two rate values illustrates for my setup at least with ~150 ping a "concrete" block feeling to my jumps. Input is delayed and overall movement is sluggish when on max rate when connected to the server.
I don't know how helpful this is to anyone, but I would recommend if you do see a similar input lag when playing on the server (especially as a non American) you should definitely try this out.
If this helps anyone as much as it helped me, I am glad to help. Thanks for reading.

PLEASE NOTE: type "rate" into console and write down what your current rate is set to so you don't come back to me complaining that your rate has changed and your input/movement is different. You may like the sluggishness.

So apart from the above rant which is totally unrelated to potatoman, what has potatoman done. Got a recording? But more information would be helpful.
Also this is the mute/ban appeal section. So you might want to use the report player section for that?
-
Ive seen more confusion in relation to timezones about this event with all the times removed as opposed to last time where we had one person that couldnt read the time. Any chance in future the time format as before could be included?
-
Really close on the event. Just need everyone to crouch on the final rail and we got it!

Hi,
I am not an admin nor do I reflect the opinions of the admin team. Usually a perm in any regard has a build up. It is not just one action specifically which caused it. Now I wasn't online for either situation so I can only comment on the scenarios described in the post above. Are you certain that in the build up to getting the perm that your actions/attitude reflected well across the community? You have already been given a 2nd chance which is more than most people and your actions in game resulted in another perm.
What has changed in how you behave that would warrant a 3rd ungag? The admins are not here to baby sit you. You've proven on two occasions that you are not capable of talking in chat constructively. They are not here to "punish" you. They are here to make a friendly environment for people to log in an enjoy a game.

Hello,
Here is a full playlist of the Rizomata soundtrack. I dont know if you mean Stage 1 of Rizomata A or B. So have them all?

My voice hurts
Good attempt at least! Could have been a tiny bit more clinical by having 5-10 more people surviving to the second boss and would have won it. Good job anyway

So long as proper team is assembled who are willing to listen Aesthetic is entirely possible to be beaten. Just needs the right kiters for the 1st boss, single caller for shooting the correct rock paper scissor colors and a comfy pillow !
