  1. This ungag/mute appeal like stated above seems rushed, given that you apparently named the wrong admin who gave the punishment, used "and/or" meaning you don't even understand what consequence you have(unless you don't know which refers to chat or mic spam, which you should've specified), and there was literal information about what happened to get you gagged/muted, and why this time is different. Saying that you simply won't do it anymore doesn't cut it for me in my opinion.

  2. I agree with Wuffy. It was very rushed which implies insincerity. In the near future try to minimize typos and try to bring a better answer for why you ought be unbanned, maybe describing why you were banned in the first place and then subsequently explaining why now you will no longer conduct yourself as you were to get you banned in a convincing way.

  3. @Harakoni I probably should've @'d you before, but I basically want to know your opinion before I make a decision. Currently given the information I am at a neutral position leading towards the negative with undoing the ban, given the concurrent problems Toothpack had, but I want to hear your opinion if you think giving him another chance would be acceptable since you initiated the ban.

  4. I think it would be acceptable to unban you, given that you seem that you weren't aware of it being against the rules, are sorry for it, and I am pretty sure that the method of breaking this rule is no longer able to happen, so it seems reasonable to unban.

EDIT:I also want to add that you should probably read the rules of the server to make sure you don't violate the rules, and ask questions if there is an ambiguity with it to avoid this type of thing in the future.

EDIT:I was informed by Dragoon that you weren't exactly unaware, but made an excuse that it wasn't written in the rules directly to continue conduct so that is problematic. I still believe that the apology here is at least somewhat sincere, and that breaking the same rules is untenable, so for this rule break you should be unbanned. However keep in mind that if admins try to explain to you that there are certain rules not written in motd(some of them should be common sense like this but whatever), you should try to listen and act accordingly to not violate them or else you will likely face an appropriate punishment.

No idea who you are and sorry for the late response.

    Up to @FrankAL

I am pretty sure I am unable to unban console, given that the last guy I tried to unban who was console banned couldn't get unbanned by me. I think Rennadai needs to situate it so either I can do it, or she just does it herself, though I will say that I would give him another chance since it doesn't seem like him getting banned was him intentionally breaking any rules.

  6. Given Vortex's input and the fact that I agree with this application being rushed, I have to decline for the meantime. Next time, a while after this one, it would be appreciated if you put time into your next application, possibly explaining the situation behind the gag, apologizing, and explaining why you won't do it again. Point is, put effort into it, it's kind of a baseline expectation.

Rennadai has a lot of stuff that she's doing and it's not her responsibility to give a verdict now. That goes to @FrankAL (our senior admin). Spooky isn't even admin now, so he won't have much of a say either, I'm afraid

My verdict is currently no as somewhat implied by my last comment where he said "cuz i want my money back", which demonstrates insincerity to me. It'd basically my default verdict, and what I said is that the opinion of Spooky or Rennadai may change that default verdict.

  8. However, I have a sort of a problem. I tried to unban you, but there was nothing that came up that allowed me to. I checked my profile and I don't think I have the ability to unban bans that I didn't cause, so I guess @Rennadai needs to know about it or something.

  9. It seems that the reason for the ban was due to an anti-cheat thing that is installed in the server, as it says "!cake Anticheat: Incident STEAM_0:0:101236346/62097: clientside lua execution, anticheat timeout, console variable manipulation", and that the console did so automatically. I may be wrong, but that is what seems like what happened.

If that's the case, you getting banned is unlikely you intentionally breaking any rules so I am completely fine with unbanning, though if you are using the same computer and this is the reason it may automatically do so again if I am correct.

Admin application? He's not applying for admin...

In regards to his appeal, I recommended him to appeal on forums. If I remember correctly, he is quite young, so his grammar and spelling might not be exactly correct...

I'm not sure exactly what he's done, as it was a manager's decision to ban him at the time, but he has been calm and mature to me over steam. I think we'll have to wait until we hear from staff who are aware of what happened exactly.

Sorry, I mean appeal for ban. Got it mixed up and wasn't thinking.

  11. I read the statement from Wuffy and i'd like the opinions of Harakoni, and probably a few other staff that were on when you were banned to have a general idea of what happened, before I make my decision.

Also, I don't know if you rushed your ban appeal, but the sheer amount of typo's are triggering me.

EDIT:I said admin application when I meant ban appeal. Got the terms mixed up, because I was more focused on the other portion.

  12. I want to add a comment here given that neither Spooky nor Rennadai has commented as of yet, but the fact that deltacash said "cuz i want my money back" is a gigantic demonstration that delta doesn't actually care about his prior conducts, nor does he feel sorry, but shows that he has an ulterior motive even if I don't understand the details behind that motive.

Basically what I want to say is that if I am going to unban, I have a higher threshold than usual due to that. I'd need an indication from at least Rennadie herself that she believes that you should be given another chance for me to consider it, because currently I am against it.

  13. "A dipshit Pushing his fingers and Twos thumbs together?"

It should be "two thumbs" no "twos thumbs" as the number signifies the quantity of the plural and the quantity itself does not add an s at the end as a result. If the number is one, it would be one thumb, not "one thumbs".

  14. Understood. I will work on undoing the chat ban.

EDIT:I worked with Wuffy to get the chat ban unbanned and it seems to currently be unbanned. If problems arise with this still, please express concerns to staff.

  15. HomelessDog, if you can promise to actively try not to spam again, I will be fine with removing the perma-mute, but I will need you to actually give an indication that you will actually do this since you said you are still 50/50 on learning your lesson, which doesn't cut it for me, and that you have many warns, not just dealing with spam which is an indication that you aren't necessarily interested in following the rules. Basically, I need you to be blatant on wanting to follow the rules, not wishy woshy.

Keep in mind that I won't necessarily have the same mindset if you are put in this position again, and you may not get another chance.

  16. At least regarding gmod hide and seek, I don't know if that would be a good idea. Under the presupposition that we did so and our HNS server got massive support and people started playing games on hns, they would flood the server making it difficult again for admins to get on. For this to be even tenable we would have to increase the player slots to probably at least 64, but then the problems becomes lag from the sheer amount of people engaged with the server at once.

There is also the potential for multiple gfl hide and seek servers, where the problem there will be that one server will definitely be more active than another, and then people are really just going to wait to get on the most active server and create different problems.

Regarding competition, I don't really understand how it would work regarding hide and seek. Would it be that the winner is the person who gets the most points on a specific map, and if so what is the actual prize? Also, even if that is how it worked, I don't see it really getting any real traction. It's hide and seek, and the competition would really be artificially injected. It's true that we have try hards on the server, where I sometimes have fun putting the effort in.

Although, there may be a way that hide and seek could work in a competitive sense that might actually be very interesting. For instance, let's say that there is a separate locked server, and 32 people would be included if they signed up for a specific tournament time(if they don't make it on time they forfeit automatically, though there can be some leniency)(there should also be some requirements to join the tournament, such as a certain amount of time playing with gfl hns, and a relatively clean warn template). 1 person is the designated starting seeker(it'd have to be situated so admins can force choose the starting seeker), and that person(preferably a skilled admin) has the goal of tagging everyone. If everyone is tagged in 5 consecutive rounds(the duration of a map), then the starting seeker wins. However, if everyone isn't tagged in 5 consecutive rounds, and we have a set amount of hiders in some round, then all of the tagged people would be kicked, with all that being left is the starting seeker and the hiders that survived. However, after a certain threshold of people being removed for getting tagged and losing, the map is a changed to a smaller designated map so it becomes more difficult to get away with surviving the round. For example, a large map like Geekroom or littletown from 32 players to 20, and then might turn into something like museum from 19 to 10 players, and then lower to smallotown or plaza from 9 to 2 hiders left. If there is 1 hider left in the end, then there will be 1 more round between the seeker and the hider. If the hider is tagged, the seekers wins. if the hider survives, the hider wins. The reward could be a large amount of pointshop points, and maybe a special pointshop item limited only to tournament winners like that.

This would probably be very fun, and tournaments could be done semi monthly. They could be hosted on something like twitch if someone wants.

  17. I don't remember everybody that I have warned, though when I did it was obviously due to mic spamming, and given that both I and littleshake gagged you multiple times throughout the span of about 2 weeks it probably wasn't something minuscule. What I can say is this. There haven't been subsequent warns apparently since 2018, and you are apparently sorry, so I can ungag. Just make sure that you don't mic spam in the future and we should be squared away.

  18. I checked your warns, and it seems like the last time was from 2018, which was 2 years ago. I think we should give you a second chance since it was a long time ago, but be sure not to spam again please.
