Calling someone a pedophile isn't a joke. It's a serious allegation and isn't something I appreciate you calling someone on our servers when it's completely uncalled for. Seeing as this is something you like to do to people quite often, I'm going to go ahead and say that this is one of your final warnings. Next time you do this the mute will be for a week. This one is an hour, suck it up and realize that this type of behavior isn't okay.
Thanks. If you have any further questions you can message me on Discord. Closed.

Unbanned, please refrain from using a VPN on our servers again.

Hello again.
You've been muted/gagged 15 times at this point, and banned once. Mutes add up, as do gags, hence why you didn't just receive an hour like that other guy you mentioned. I simply won't tolerate you harassing, berating and quite frankly abusing our players/admins any longer. What would your wife/girlfriend say about you talking to women like this?
As I previously mentioned on your old mute appeal -- You're a grown God damn man. Start acting like it.
Mute stays. Thanks.

Unbanned. Please don't use a VPN on our servers again.

Yeah, what Dini says pretty much sums it up, minus a few key details. But given how much of a tirade you went on, the mute/gag that was initially only a week got turned into a permanent one. Given the fact that you now used a different account to avoid that punishment, you bumped yourself up to a ban, which will not be undone.
Thanks.
-
Confirmed it was because of the VPN. Unbanned, please be mindful that this may happen again so I definitely suggest not to use it again while playing on our servers.
Thanks.

Hello. Map extensions already have a cap. 2 On #1 and #2 and 4 on #3 (Expert). The reason why #3 has more is because some people want to try to finish very hard staged maps, some of them have gone beyond needing two hours even, which is past the 4 extends including the map time itself. (I.e surf_lt_omnific_fix)
I guess technically speaking, there is no limit as to how many times you can extend if a vote is called by a VIP/Supporter as they all have the vote extend command when 5 minutes is remaining on a map. (!ve) But that will not be going away as it's a nice feature.
With that being said, I could consider lowering the caps slightly. The extend could only be 5 minutes on the easy servers rather than 15, and keep the same number (2), or perhaps only allowing it once there. Certainly open to suggestions.
Thanks.
PS, moving this to the correct subforum.

Ban stays. I reviewed proof that a trial admin had collected (shadowplay). You and I both know what you said, so do we really need to have this discussion? You show no remorse for your actions and instead choose to deny that anything ever happened. If you ever want to be unbanned in the future, that attitude has to change.
-
Your ban was caused by your VPN. In the future, please disconnect from it when playing on our servers, thanks. Unbanned.

Unbanned, as previously mentioned we recommend you disconnect from your VPN while playing on our servers.

Unbanned. Please refrain from using a VPN on our servers since this can easily happen again.

Hello again.
I didn't remove or change shit in terms of the sound that the timer makes when you complete the map. It's entirely dependent on what time you get on it.
You've been muted/gagged 12 times at this point, and yes I removed your ban previously because of lack of evidence even though many players and admins alike supported the claims made that caused for it to happen.
You show no remorse for your actions, you just decide to shift the blame onto others incompetence as an excuse for your shitty behavior. Reaper is still very new as co-manager, and he will get better at zoning. When running into issues like this, you could have reported it to me or him on Discord and it would've been taken care of. The kind of overly toxic behavior you've shown on the servers will no longer be tolerated. You are still allowed to play on the servers, obviously. But the mute will stay.
You're a grown God damn man, start acting like it.
-
Yeah, I'm going to side with @Vauffon this given his response. Remove the picture, otherwise he can deal with it however he sees fit.
-
Unbanned. Please do not use a VPN on our servers as this may very well happen again.
-
Unbanned because he didn't have proof to support his claims for a permanent ban.
-
There is a command to unfuck yourself. It's !stuck. Will put you back at the start of the stage you were on without resetting your time.
-
Thanks guys. You make me warm and fuzzy inside.

These are all of your bans. The first three were all on 1v1 arena. So, essentially this is a 1v1 arena ban appeal. However, I'm going to take the liberty to outright deny this myself. Looking at your steam accounts and seeing that a couple are VAC banned now and that, clearly, cheating is your gig I really don't think we want to have you playing on our servers. If you have any questions feel free to send me a message.

You can find the mapcycles on all five of our Surf Timer servers here. When new maps are added we will update everyone in the Surf Timer Discord. If you have a map suggestion or find an issue/glitch with a map, post a reply to this thread or do so on the Discord server! Other suggestions should go here. https://gflclan.com/forums/topic/33477-csgo-surf-timer-suggestions/
Edit: since we now have over 600 maps, we found it best to use a spreadsheet for all of them rather than putting them all in one huge forum post.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zrfjFhTzY3jgDHkS-LQfkwt_lgCHaVhvdXad9byKt-4/edit?usp=sharing
You can download all of these maps from our FastDL here, if you wish to. https://fastdl.gflclan.com/csgo/maps/

Hello everyone! I am happy to announce the newest addition to our CS:GO Division, a Tier 3-6 Surf Timer server. This means that Surf now has 3 servers.
Just for clarification, your rank does carry over from the beginner servers and vice versa. All of the maps on this server are new besides surf_ACP and surf_cookiejar. In total, the server has 57 maps on the mapcycle right now.
I do hope to see you guys playing on and enjoying the server. I set it up, so if you have any questions or concerns feel free to message me directly or make a post here. If you have a suggestion, you can bring it up here instead. https://gflclan.com/forums/topic/33477-csgo-surf-timer-suggestions/
IP to the server: 92.119.148.45:27015
Be sure to add it to your favorites.
Thanks!

So, given that most of our players are used to playing with an uncapped speed limit when surfing and that I lowered it to something that is more standard, I thought I'd explain how it makes things a bit different, especially if you're going for good times on maps.
Most maps, including the ones on our mapcycle are intended to be surfed on 3500 MV. Without a cap, you'll often be able to skip a ramp or even several where it really isn't intended.
Something you do in surf in order to gain more speed is to go down on ramps. That being said, when you do that and you already have maximum velocity, you're instead going to waste time and even lose some of that speed. This might not cripple your run, but it will most certainly add some unecessary time to it.
Furthermore, with this change it is even more important to be very precise with how you land on ramps. Basically, the higher up on the ramp you land, the more speed you're going to get. This might seem inconsequential, but it is quite important on maps like surf_dragon and surf_ing_njv where you have to cover a bit of distance. Taking this into mind and practicing it will naturally also grant you better times on maps, and even help you beat maps you haven't been able to before.
If anyone has any questions or more tips to give, feel free to post them below.

General Rules
- No Hacking / Cheating / Scripting.
- Do not impersonate other players or staff members.
- Be cool to others. Racism and Bigotry, to include the use of slurs be it casual or otherwise, has no place in GFL and will result in gags or mutes at minimum.
- No mic/chat spamming, prank calling or excessive yelling. Playing instruments or rapping/singing is up to admins to allow or not.
- Do not advertise or beg for items.
- Do not post inappropriate links (Screamers, Gory websites, pornography, etc.).
- Do not harass other players.
- Do not stir up drama. If an admin tells you to drop a topic, drop it. GFL Surf is not bound by the first amendment of the U.S. Constitution, and is not your personal soapbox.
- The admin's word is final. The rules listed on this page are not exhaustive, and serve as a general guideline to ensure a fun environment for all players. If an admin says to stop something, then stop. If you feel you've been punished unfairly, you can appeal here: https://gflclan.com/forms/67-csgo-surf-timer-muteban-appeals/
- VPN use is generally unsupported and there is a high probability of getting banned for using one, given the playercount across all other GFL servers. If you have any particular concerns or feel like you need to be using a VPN for whatever reason, contact @Dini directly before attempting to connect with a VPN.
Surf Timer Rules
- Do not share accounts with other players. Getting someone to do maps for you on your account will result in both of you getting banned, and/or your times on both accounts getting wiped.
- Refrain from getting top times on your alt accounts. Includes stage, bonus and map times. May result in a ban, and/or your times on both accounts getting wiped.
- Prehopping to gain speed before going on a ramp is prohibited and may result in a ban. Exception being the start of stage one on surf_fast.
- Do not knowingly abuse or share exploits/glitches in maps to get better times. This will result in your times getting wiped and/or a ban, as will encouraging others to do them. This includes double/dropboosting.
- Using custom title VIP privileges to pretend that you are either a higher rank than you actually are or a staff member will result in a ban.
Useful Commands (use !help in game to see the full list of commands)
- !surftimer - allows you to customize the timer hud to your liking, among other things.
- !calladmin - Is someone being disruptive? Use this command to get an Admin to come on.
- !r - Resets your run and teleports you to the start zone.
- !stage <number> - Allows you to go to any desired stage and practice.
- !bonus - Teleports you to the bonus, if there is one on the map.
- !profile - Shows Surf Timer statistics of any player in the server.
- !ranks - Shows all of the ranks and the point requirements
- !stuck - Stuck somewhere on a stage? Do this command to be taken back to the stage start zone without effecting your progress on the map.
You can also go here for all commands:
Donator/VIP Features
- Access to the VIP/Top 100 Server! 92.119.148.82:27015
- Reserved slot to the servers, allowing you to join through console even if they're full.
- !nv - Enables Night Vision.
- !ve - Vote extend command. Will bring up a vote to extend the map by 10 minutes (Can only be done with 5 minutes remaining on a map) Needs 50% to go through.
- !paint - Paints a dot at the place you type the command. It's more useful to bind this to a key for example (bind <key> +paint) and as you hold it will paint anywhere that is a valid surface. You can change paint settings with !paintoptions. To remove any paint on the map that you have done you can use r_cleardecals to remove them.
- To use your own custom title, first you must use the command /title in chat - in the pop-up, hit Enable Custom Title.
- As VIP/Supporter you now gain access to more models! As member you have access to 3 models but as VIP you gain access to 5 additional skins that are exclusive to VIP+ only. Read more about models here: https://gfl.gs/surfmodels/
Setting your custom title:
- Use sm_customtitle "{green}[Best Surfer]" in console. Play around with it until you come up with a color/text combination you like!
- Use the /colors command to see all color options! You can add as many of them as your heart desires.
- Please don't use anything rule-breaking!
Custom Chat/Name Colors:
- Use /title in chat to customize your Chat and Name colors. You need a custom-title set for your custom chat/name colors to appear!
Setting a custom join message:
- Use sm_joinmsg "{green}Hiiiii" in console to set a join message. Again, same color options.

Ban Appeal

Unbanned. Confirmed it was because of the VPN and also unbanned 3 more people that got screwed with the same IP. Please don't use it on our servers, as this might happen again.

As of yesterday, our Surf Timer servers are on a different timer. I know this might catch some of the players off guard, especially since the ranks/map finishes have all been wiped. So, my goal with this post is firstly to elaborate on why I believe the move was justified and secondly to hopefully make you realize it's not the end of the world and is actually better in the long run!
Influx (our previous timer) was by all means kind of okay, but I did not very much fancy the ranking system, among other things. It just did not feel right to me that players who went for good times on maps were not awarded with extra points for their efforts, and that the people who were on top points wise were only there because of style finishes (parkour, low grav etc etc), which in all fairness is not skill based. If anything, players should focus more on the healthier part of grinding. I know quite a few players were grinding ranks just by doing maps with all styles. But now they can actually just improve their time, and overall get rewarded for doing so by improving as a surfer aswell as getting points for it. Its way healthier than doing styles just for the sake of gaining points.
I've been doing research since I came back in action around 2 months ago after a 3-year hiatus from GFL, trying to find something that would suit us better. Something we could work with in the long run. And this new timer seemed perfect for the job. During the time I tested it I was both impressed and made excited by its features. Primarily by the fact that styles all had their seperate ranking systems, which is exactly what I wanted, but also because of how much customization it possessed for the players as well as myself as a Manager of the servers. And of course, a ranking system that simply 360 noscopes our old timer in comparison.
I didn't want to simply eradicate the "fun" styles, since I am well aware a lot of people enjoy them very much. Parkour no longer exists, since it is not a part of this new timer (May it rest in peace). However there are a couple of new styles that are similar in nature. "Slow motion" and "Fast forward"! Low-grav does still exist. Check them out with the /styles command.
I really look forward to seeing a healthy mix of competetive and casual surfing, and hope you guys will be as excited about it as I am. I included some pictures of the timer in game on the changelog.
If you find any issues with the timer or find the zones on a map lacking, please contact me. About one third of the maps were zoned by default, and I didn't check to see if they were well done.
Happy surfing!

Nah, we're good. You had your chances. You act like a total manchild and it's coming back to bite you in the ass, deal with it. I'll unban you if you cure cancer. Otherwise, it stays.
Thanks!
