You jumped at the correct time, perfect for lagcomp, but this one laser was not lag compensated to you hence the instant (rather than delayed) death. This is the one bug that makes me want laser lagcomp disabled until it gets fixed. It's really frustrating because no matter how long I try on a test server, it just never happens. I also experienced that bug myself on the day lagcomp got added here. Thanks, now I know what to look for! Twice now I have been effected in not a lot of time, a shame. Hopefully this can be fixed.

Dying with it enabled can be very frustrating;
-Did I jump too early / late?
-Is this working correctly?
You don't get any clarification and are left puzzled which is why many people dislike the plugin and would prefer a more "natural" state. It's very hard to trust the plugin, but perhaps we are just bad and need to learn the jump timings.
Personally I've seen it work well at times, but other times very questionable. Hard to say.
This clip here, 0 ping was definitely enabled as I double checked during the round by toggling it, along with checking the recording later. I cannot "accidently" hit my bind either, it's on the numpad of my keyboard. Perhaps there is an issue of toggling it too many times, or even once per round might cause an issue.

Chicago Ben summed it all up nicely.
If anyone played Nide during the Pivo days, they will know exactly what the server could turn into. Everybody who is infected just goes into spectate, leaving only 1-2 zombies actually playing making it boring for everyone and potentially ending the round if they die. To combat this, more mother zombies are chosen and the settings made harder which then unbalances things. Maps have contributed this also as zombies are just shoved in a corner during lengthy boss fights, lasers etc. and there's no real motivation to play so they alt-tab or go AFK. Then those who actually play as a zombie get called a tryhard and it's incredibly frustrating to see.
I see Gkuo's post was deleted but I think he has a decent point. I do believe Bhop has a part to play in this, but not for GFL CS:GO. I think an unlocked velocity cap (while fun), fundamentally breaks the game.

Do what DtK does, block people from spectating and add gameme points
19 hours ago, Malal said:You can make a human do the most mundane and menial work for a false sense of satisfaction and reward powered by imaginary points, hence why people copy funny posts to reupload on social media, I have seen people nail their fucking dick to a board just for reddit points.
Hmm, forgot about that. Definitely an option if it gets to that stage. People went nuts over the points on DtK as well, as far as inflating to get them.
4 hours ago, lce said:Yea, cause DtK is doing soooooo well in terms of population with that system. In general it is going to be up the mappers to make it enjoyable for zombies and not having them sit in a cage for a 5 minute boss fight every round. On tryhard maps in general too, humans are the only ones that get any interesting items or if zombies get them, they are only in spawn so you don't get that neat mechanic if you get stabbed later. Adding points to something just encourages people to get them for bragging rights usually, not because they always enjoy grinding them out.
DtK has many other issues that I won't discuss here (you can PM me if you want), but blocking spectate and having gameME points weren't it's downfall.

It's the bane of Zombie Escape unfortunately. Most people don't want to play as a Zombie and often go AFK or to spectate, ruining the experience for everyone else. Maps haven't helped this cause either as they're getting to 15-30 minutes long for a single stage and who wants to play as a zombie for that long?
NiDE CS:S server is a great example. Quite often there will be only 1 or 2 zombies actually playing and they die (or leave) and the round ends. The admins there actually have to force people onto a team as everybody goes spectator.
Then comes the other issue of people getting bored because there are no zombies to shoot and maps are becoming easier, so the server will decrease knockback or add to the mother zombie count... But then when all the zombies are playing, this creates an unbalance and zombies will win every time.
I don't know if there is a solution to this, perhaps kicking spectators more often and decrease the AFK timer.

Outside of what you're currently doing and what Rune suggested, I don't think there's anything else you could do except upgrade your hardware unfortunately.
Performance is probably worse right now because areaportals have been broken since a CS:GO update around a month ago. Maps would use these to tell the client not to render certain parts of the map at times to save resources, however since the update this doesn't work and areaportals are just ignored.
Weird, I have seen a 6% boost in average framerate and a 13-18% increase in minimum fps as of late (I use a demo for benchmarking).
11 hours ago, mikasa said:search "csgo fps boost" on youtube. it won't take long. but usually, you'll be recommended to download a certain cfg file (to reduce graphic quality) and changing you launch option. also try to disable any program that affect your laptop performance.
These *can* work to a degree, but Valve themselves have recommended using default settings as that's what their testing suggests.

I was wondering if anyone had tips for boosting fps on zombie escape servers? I'm averaging like 30 rn in huge gun fights and its just dreadful at the moment. All my video settings are as low as possible already and no apps running in background. Any suggestions guys? Thanks!
Best Regards,
Shine
Unfortunately not much can be done really. 30 fps seems quite low for a system like yours, but it depends on the map and server skins.

The beginning part of Ridorana has always had poor fps.
However, my framerate is also much lower on GFL CS:S compared to other servers. I would say due to plugins or player models.

most of the time im pissed cus i got zombied for edging/being a hero so I just afk and post shit like this. There needs to be more incentive for zombie.
This ruins the game for everyone. People cannot join a full server, the humans have a less challenging game etc. But I also see the flip side as maps are becoming longer and longer, zombie time can be upwards of 10-20 minutes or so and can be boring. (looking at you level 3, temple of the demon god).
QuoteIm also constantly in the queue waiting for a spot in the server, they should let more players in during peak times.
Kicking AFK's or Spectators sure, but there already is an automatic timer for that. Nothing you can do other than to buy donator.
QuoteI think ze needs a major overhaul, less hp for zombies, more default abilities like sprints for zmbies/humans, maybe unique classes for both factions, more incentive for humans/zombies to be engaged at front line rather than door hugging or afk.
Class-based servers used to exist, but they were terrible in my opinion. Most maps aren't designed with a "sprint" in mind and may cause more issues than "solve". Mappers add items for both Humans and Zombies in some maps, so it makes things a little more unique. Door huggers has, and will always be a thing.
QuoteId just like to see more variety and ingenuity especially in the maps, maybe special (tryhard) maps where FF and block is enabled
As much as that would be cool, many players would be annoyed because "don't mess with muh FF".
Quoteeventually id like to see a standalone game with gun upgrades, graphics, perhaps more disposable zombies like in L4D but not L4D keeping the escape theme very much intact.
It's been 12 years now and the "closest" thing we've gotten was CS: Nexon Zombies, or ZEscape, basically a guy made ZE in unreal engine and wanted to charge $20 for it. The idea has been pitched to Valve by many players AFAIK, but it will never happen despite topping the leaderboards of community servers... Forever.

The weapons definitely need a mix up! I think Negev's are a little ridiculous right now.
Should definitely monitor the win rate of the server and then act accordingly.
All Assault Rifles = 50 Bullets
Bizon = Same (64)
P90 = Same (50)
Mp9 = 45 (insane dps on bosses at 50 bullets)
Mac10 = 50 (definitely underrated)
UMP = 50
Mp7 = 50
Mp5 = 50
Negev = 120 (and perhaps slight drop in knockback).
Obviously not all situations will be like this, just thought it was funny.

@mikasa & @Beter Griffin Banking on indihomo to fix itself (but i agree that sometime indihomo is utter garbage), not worth changing internet provider just to play ZE😂
@Malal I've used Windscribe once for a year and tried using it for TF2 and the ping worsened rather than improved than not using a VPN. But I'll give it a go, thanks!
Every VPN is different, some are better than others for gaming and even designed for gaming.
A lot of people use Mudfish, as it's so cheap and can work really well. Currently my routing is bad to Asia and I can drop from 350ms to ~150-200 with almost zero lag.

i want 8 seconds on warm up, because if we lose the first round or not, i strongly dislike being a zombie first round because i spawn in 2 seconds later - because of my internet.
You realize it's your PC that loads the map right? Often I'm one of the first in, despite 200+ ping. If it's a new map, then too bad. You can download all the maps off the FASTDL in advanced!
Buy an SSD!

how bout you try something - if community hates it get rid of it, and if they like it keep it
What is there to do? If anything, it needs to be removed because a lot of maps have their own warmup rounds now. *You* don't speak for the community, only yourself and maybe your group of friends.

Just because *you* want a warmup plugin doesn't mean anybody else wants one.

Keep Mako / Westersand as nomination.
Keep the rest as a long cooldown with Cosmo v5 as Admin nom (isn't it unstable?)
Remove Temple Ancient tbh. -

Only PSE and RSS need !hide because of the insane amount of anime skins they have (even then it's limited to 100-150 units). GFL is fine, never had an issue.

Agreed with putting the price back up to $5,000. Negev spam is far too powerful. In a single segment, you can spam about 1,000 bullets without reloading. Granted you have to be standing still, it's far too powerful.
Feels good though when you get top defender with p90 while people negev spamming ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

In short, I think opening a second server is a good idea, either to change the current gfl ze server, from chicago to los angeles
I believe it's in Chicago so that everybody in America (East or West) will have good ping, but this does effect everybody outside of the US more so as routing can be an issue too. LA is the best as a collective as people are connecting from around the world.

Ignoring the low pop due to server crashes/csgo updates, it's pretty self-evident how popular the server is. It's so hard to join the server especially on tryhard maps that sometimes I had to keep retrying for 5+ minutes. And that's only pre-free-csgo era.
I remember trying to join on what apparently was a Santa Assassination event, I spent 15 minutes and still couldn't get in.
In my opinion, having another server in Los Angeles would be beneficial to everybody as NA players still get low ping while outsiders will primarily get lower ping.
Definitely something to talk about!

its for setting local server tickrate so it is if you need a 128 tick offline server
Lower fps_max = faster loading times
Yeah but what do you need 128tick servers for, unless you're offlining something ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Yeah, definitely have a lower fps_max for laptops too. There's a debate between fps_max 0 and fps_max 999.

just testing my laptop that i usually used for collage with i7 6700HQ ( 2.60 GHz ), DDR4 8GB Ram and GTX 950M ( everything low and disabled except Texture and Shader remain Maximum settings )
launch option :
-novid
-nojoy
-language japanese
-high
-tickrate 128
-nod3d9ex
-dxlevel 80
+fps_max 0
-freq 60
-threads 4
+cl_forcepreload 1
in 64 player situation never get lower than 30 fps ( average fps got 40 ~ 70 fps ) even i turned off the !stopsound ( turning off stopsound make your game lagging / loss i think ). ( on Competitive most of the map got 100 ~ 160 fps )
and also try with Maximum settings ( except V-sync ofc ) still never get lower than 30fps ( but the average fps goes down to 35 ~ 60 fps ) even turned off the !stopsound. this only happened when i'm defend position, doorhug could be diffirent story. ( on Competitive got 80 ~ 130 fps )Most of those "more fps" commands are obsolete now. Best to just use default, as Valve themselves have stated this.
-high (not needed)
-tickrate 128 (not needed)
-nod3d9ex (debatable. Good if you alt-tab a lot)
-dxlevel 80 (Interesting you have to use that, keep that I guess)
+fps_max 0 (fps_max 999 is better apparently, but debatable. Also having unlocked framerate on a laptop will increase heat output a lot. Try 120 or something)
-freq 60 (not needed)
-threads 4 (not needed)
+cl_forcepreload 1 (only needed if you have game on a slow HDD)
Looking around, you should be getting 110-150 fps at Ultra Settings at 1080p.

Heya,
Today, I will answer the age old question of which gun to use. To work this out, I have used the Wikipedia to find out the fire rate and reload times of each gun.
Keep in mind, this is exact reload + fire timings so in practice it would be slightly less.
Nilla Servers
P90 @ 50 bullets
3.3 Seconds reload
857 RPM
857/60 = 14.28 shots per second
50/14.28 = 3.5 seconds to shoot entire clip
3.3 + 3.5 = 6.8 seconds for entire clip + reload
60/6.8 = 8.82 clips per minute
50 x 8.82 = 441 bullets per minuteBizon @ 64 bullets
2.4 Seconds reload
750 RPM
750/60 = 12.5 shots per second
64/12.5 = 5.12 seconds to shoot entire clip
2.4 + 5.12 = 7.52 seconds for entire clip + reload
60/7.52 = 7.98 clips per minute
64 x 7.98 = 510.72 bullets per minuteNegev @ 150 bullets
5.7 seconds reload
800 RPM
800/60 = 13.33 shots per second
150/13.33 = 11.25 seconds to shoot entire clip
5.7 + 11.25 = 16.95 seconds for entire clip + reload
60/16.95 = 3.54 clips per minute
150 x 3.54 = 531 bullets per minuteSo what is best? Well, it depends on the situation and your play style.
-P90 has higher damage / knockback than the Bizon, is more accurate and allows for burst fire meaning more headshots and sustained knockback.
-Bizon has a larger clip with a shorter reload time allowing for sustained fire on zombies at all times.
-Negev is good for holding small hallways or doors and static locations.
Boss fights
-On static boss fights, Negev is the winner here with the highest DPS.
-On moving boss fights, Bizon is better as it offers the most DPS and the fastest movement speed.
So there it is, there is a place for everything. Bizon is probably best all rounder but it's entirely preference!
Personally I use the P90 for defending, Bizon for movement based boss fights and Negev for Static boss fights.
Extras
mp9
@ 50 bullets
2.1 Seconds reload
857 RPM
857/60 = 14.28 shots per second
50/14.28 = 3.5 seconds to shoot entire clip
2.1 + 3.5 = 5.6 seconds for entire clip + reload
60/5.6 = 10.71 clips per minute
50 x 10.71 = 535.5 bullets per minuteP90 on steroids, best for boss fights
Bizon @ 60 bullets
2.4 Seconds reload
750 RPM
750/60 = 12.5 shots per second
60/12.5 = 4.8 seconds to shoot entire clip
2.4 + 4.8 = 7.2 seconds for entire clip + reload
60/7.2 = 8.33 clips per minute
60 x 8.33 = 499.8 bullets per minuteNegev @ 120 bullets
5.7 Seconds reload
800 RPM
800/60 = 13.33 shots per second
120/13.33 = 9 seconds to shoot entire clip
5.7 + 9 = 14.7 seconds for entire clip + reload
60/14.7 = 4.08 clips per minute
120 x 4.08 = 489.6 bullets per minuteSo for some other servers, MP9 is king for boss fights and P90 is more viable overall.
Thanks for reading, hopefully you learnt something

Is P90 better than Bizon now?
in Zombie Escape
Posted
Both are pretty good but I'd say Bizon is objectively superior.
Depends on the server knockback settings and ammo counts as well, tap firing a p90 can be extremely powerful.
I used to use the p90 exclusively but now I only use the Bizon.
Just use what you feel like :)
