If I was to coordinate an insurgency event with a couple of other people, who would be willing to participate in the event? As of currently we don't really have a huge roadmap of what the event would be like other than just being a team based event where the winning team gets the prize (more below ), it would probably be best of 3 or more but I I think an Insurgency event would be of great help to populate the server more (other than the current bots
) and it would be fun for the community to come together to play a game that many haven't dabbled in while we all have fun!
Please let me know if you would be interested in such an event as well as any suggestion for the event

Currently the prize is going to be an Insurgent sided hentai shirt
(thank @Harakoni)

I don't know if this question has been asked or if we already know this information about the community, but I have been seeing an increase in the amount of furry related pics on the community.
Do you consider yourself a furry?

Insurgency Update #3
Current Changes
-Added better admin plugin
-Change bot count when no one is online (4 now)
-Changed bot difficulty (might change to max
Changed hibernation of server, so it's mostly active
-Stats via GameTracker (people wanted this)
Future Changes:
-Colored advertisements
-Server events (as suggested by @WigglesWorth)
-motd?
-BattleMetrix (server maintenance done easier; thank you @k2nod)
-!discord and !steam chat plugin (if a developer can help me with this, that would be great)
-Fixing BattleMetrix

FIXES:
-Fixed tags for players
-Bots being afk
-Server not continuing due to hibernation
P.S.
There was no Insurgency Update last week due to having some issues with accessing the server files that could of been easily fixed (my bad lol)
Weekly Mention:
Number 1: @Harakoni
Server: 198.27.115.104

Dunno if this is the place to stick this but it seems the forums for Insurgency aren't quite done; so here it is:
Insurgency event. Christen the server with an event like most others games/gamemodes have gotten.
Just fill the server with people for a push event, there's not much you could do for a "prize" but maybe make an announcement commending the MVPs or winning team. Your choice
I'd be willing to pool a bit of effort into it just so i can play on our server without being consistently diddled by one player alone ( @Kite9867)
Lemme know what you think
I like this kind of thinking. As i mentioned on week 2's changelog, i have been wanting to get an event going and if we can get a couple of people in the community to help and hopefully get other players to participate that aren't from gfl that would honestly help. If we were to make an event i could set up teams and rounds as the game is 3 round win to win the match so it kind of plays perfectly lol. Maybe the prize could be an anime hentail model that i found on

If you really think about it, it possibly can't be the first time that another nation has interfered with our elections. Maybe not by hacking into the polls and changing votes, which is what probably makes all this Russia and Trump stuff so "scary".

Well ultimately if the Media Team somehow found a way to make it accessible to the community and efficient to the people who will ultimately run the channel, I think it would greatly benefit the community in general. Even if its a nightmare

-
Wouldn't it just be a matter of either creating a division with people dedicated to creating videos for the community or maybe a thread where people can post videos of whatever as long as it has to do with the community obviously @Joshy

I was scrolling through the forums until I reached the end and I saw those banners with the discord, twitter, youtube and etc. Having not seen the GFLCommunity Youtube channel I decided to press on it only to see a couple of videos with the latest one being from 7 months ago. I was a little disappointed as I personally thought there would be a lot more videos or at least some recent ones. I was thinking maybe it's the media team's duty as well to post videos every once in a while there but it's been months since the last video and I see it as a lost opportunity to show other communities or just lurking players what it's like to be in a GFL server and etc. I personally feel like maybe there should be a group dedicated to making and editing videos for the Youtube channel as it seems kind of redundant to have it as a banner if it's barely being posted on. Having someone post on the Youtube channel at least once a month I believe will help expand the community. I don't really know if we already have a division or a group of people who are supposed to post videos but yeah... I think there would be people in the community willing to record gameplay or etc for the community channel because as the name states, it's a COMMUNITY channel not just a channel owned by someone in GFL.
Sooo yeet.

Insurgency is described as a tactical based modern infantry combat first-person shooter game which pits the Security Forces against Insurgency Forces in a variety of game modes.
Gameplay offers Singleplayer, Co-operative and Mutiplayer modes, with smaller sized competitive style matches as well as larger-scale causal style matches, and co-op modes which challenge players against bots that can be set to different numbers and difficulties. The game tries to be as realistic as possible while adding a sense of fun such as exhaustion and (MASSIVE) recoil. Insurgency is not a rank based game where ranks determine what equipment/weapons you can unlock, instead, there are kits which determine what type of weapons and equipment you can get, such as a scout having mostly sniper related weapons and etc.Firearms:
Rifles: The largest variety of gun; best suited for longer range engagements. Carbines perform better in confined areas due to their greater mobility, whereas combat rifles and sniper rifles are best used at longer range. All rifles can be upgraded with a wide selection of attachments including various scopes and gadgets.
Sub-Machine Guns: SMGs are best suited for close range engagements, particularly effective in constricting environments such as inside a room or hallway, due to their high rate of fire, lightweight, and mobility. The higher rate of fire causes the player to reload more and is less accurate at longer range.
Shotguns: Insurgency offers the lowest selection of shotguns, which are best used in close range such as inside buildings. All shotguns can be equipped with various attachments, including slugs which increase the range of the shot.
Light-Machine Guns: Insurgency offers a decent selection of LMGs, mainly due to the ability to convert certain assault rifles into LMGs with extended magazines. The large ammo capacity of LMGs is balanced with their heavyweight. All LMGs can equip a variety of attachments.
Handguns: Insurgency offers a small variety of sidearms, with selection limited to which team a player is on. Sidearms range in capacity and style, including both revolvers and pistols new and old, all of which can be outfitted with attachments.Explosives:
Both Security Forces and Insurgency Forces can equip a variety of different explosives
Frag Grenades are available to both teams and can be "cooked" to explode sooner after it is thrown. Cooking the frag grenade too long will result in detonation before it is thrown, and thus suicide. They have a decent blast radius, enough to kill a player if thrown too close.
Smoke Grenades are available to both teams which can also be cooked to detonate sooner after it is thrown. Smoke grenades have a decent effect size and block vision when active.
Flash Grenades are available to both teams and can also be cooked before detonation. Flash grenades blind anyone who looks at them for a very short duration of time, including both the enemy and teammates and/or the player.
Incendiary Grenades are available to both teams but vary in effectiveness. The thermite grenade is available to Security Forces and burns longer with less damage than the molotov cocktail used by Insurgency Forces. Both incendiary devices burn their effect area for a short duration causing damage to any other player within or who enters the area. Flames are visible and different for each and both will detonate in hand.Rockets are available for both teams but are very heavy compared to most equipment. Both the AT4and RPG-7 get very inaccurate at longer ranges and are best used at the safest closest distance possible to be effective. The Blast radius is rather large and can cause suicide easily as well as cause major damage to friendlies. Rocket's leave a smoke trail that gives away a player's position.
Remote Detonation Explosive Devices such as C4 and IEDs can be thrown or placed and then detonated remotely any time after placement, assuming a different explosive device does not detonate within proximity causing the placed device to detonate. Remote explosive devices have a very large blast radius. It is important to have all friendly players safely away before detonation.
Flare Guns are used to disrupt enemy night vision or light an area when engaging in dark environments. Flares, continue to burn for a short duration and cause minor damage to all players if walked over.Accessory:
Night Vision Googles (NVG) are available to players during night-time engagements. Once activated, it takes the player several seconds to adjust, making the picture more clear. Highly sensitive to light, with flares, explosives, and flashlights temporarily blinding the player if looked at.Supply Point System:
Insurgency is based on a supply point system where at the outset of a game the player starts with a varied number of supply points. 10 for Multiplayer matches and usually more for Co-op servers
It will let the player know how many supply points they have on the loadout screen, as well as at the bottom when the player is at a resupply location.Movement:
Sprinting is best used when moving between points of cover and at the start of a round in order to beat your opponents to the objective. The speed of running is most affected by the weight of the equipment carried by the player. Sprinting for long distances causes the player to get out of breath and hence a reduction in accuracy. Sprinting is the loudest movement and should be used for crossing long distances or darting in between cover. Sprinting should also be used in an emergency, such as taking fire or within proximity of an enemy explosive.
Sliding forward, such as into cover, is only possible while sprinting.
Walking is a style of movement where one walks at a tactical pace. There are no effects to one's stamina but walking can be heard by all players close enough. Walking is best used in confined spaces outside or inside enclosed spaces such as buildings and structures. Walking after sprinting once inside is a good way to regain stamina and increase accuracy in case of enemy contact.Disclaimer: This is just a copy paste of what I deemed important from a guide on steam as a lot of people won't read it all and there really isn't a need for it.
