i don't even know what neco arc is

She's a rather weird joke character in Melty Blood if you know what that franchise even is (and interestingly well known meme material).

The problem supposedly already has been fixed. Secondly, there has been enough experiences in zombie escape with spinning, that the people have decided it as a gamebreaking mechanic. The reason they put a ban on it before is out of their own experiences. This has also happened on skyrim and minas too.

Lastly, I'm going by theory here, but spinning doesnt decrease knockback, but redirects it. The skin has its own hitbox, which is also applied to the zombie. The manner in which it is done however there seems to be a lag due to calculation. When the bullet strikes the skin direction is saved relative to the skin rotational direction and then applied to the zombie's own rotational direction after a fraction of a second due to lag. By spinning, the knockback is redirected because the zombie is now facing a different direction after the lag calculation. If the zombie is spinning at the constant rate, and the lag is enough to allow the zombie to turn between 90 and 270 degrees, then all bullets that hit will create the same sort of knockback that propels the zombie forward.

Once again, the problem should be already fixed.

^This. The spin exploit is worse on the CSGO version of Pirates Port Royal as opposed to CSS. I only do the spin trick on Pirates because of how I dislike the map (and no, I don't zm inflate). Also, the dragonpriest item from TESV is supposed to not have any knockback at all.

It's because mapea is shit is why, why don't you do it on GFL? Oh right it doesn't work to the same extent if at all.

I ultimately question why Mapeadores is still alive on ze? I thought Hellz would make a comeback and Mapeadores loses their ze playerbase as of now.

What do you, guys, think about disabling "E" pick-up?

Currently the "Use" ("E" by default) key serves two purposes: both to use and pick up items. You can pick up an item by using "E" pick-up from a slightly higher distance than just by running into it. So some people are quite often spamming "E" key to pick up an item ahead of others. As a result they not only pick up the item, but immediately use it: at a wrong time in a wrong place, which causes a lot of negative emotions/drama among players.

I propose to disable "E" pick-up, and leave only one purpose for "E" key – to use an item. This will solve the item misuse problem and allow to avoid unnecessary drama.

This shouldn't hurt the competition for picking up items, on the contrary I think that it will make competition even higher (more skill based). The movement speed advantage will not be affected: it'll still be first come, first served. But unlike spamming "E" key, spamming "G" key (the default for dropping an item/weapon) is not an attractive option, because you can lose the item immediately after picking it up. Dropping your weapon beforehand is not a good option either, because chances are that you will pick up your competitor's weapon when he drops it instead of the item. So it will be a competition for getting to the right place first and pressing "G" at the right time once.

This was exactly the case in CS:S and I thought it was a well balanced competition. I personally think E picking is open to more unnecessary item griefing. I don't know why this feature was added when the previous games, Source and 1.6, didn't have any problems in vanilla at all without E picking. Then again that feature was in there for years and Valve didn't bother to remove despite the complaints then. Fortunately, there sort of is a way around this (I'm speaking of Potti's item system used when porting Paramina Rift).

  4. So...

@FzFuRy I am glad you realized this. I would somewhat say the same exact thing except I rarely active on ze. As for map nominating tiers, it's a double edged sword but I don't like that system at all.

@gkuo88 Enough said. I'll give you kudos here

Malal has been playing way longer... He has been an admin for a bunch of servers across 1.6, CSS, and CSGO. Also, he is involved in almost every community in ZE, that's worth being around.

Him as an admin figure and involved in ze? I don't even recall anything.

    Now for answering citizen's questions.

    1. I like ze being something unique as I mostly have to say the same thing hotEvercLear said. Most of that light autism has happened before and can be funny. One famous example was Tony Montana where a lot of players would say some stuff is Tony failed some part of the map or spec him on the last part of mako.

    2. All I can think of is pF for obvious reasons. I give them huge credit for bringing a unique ze community and experience even despite their major flaws. Their rules felt like rules and they were for the most part regulated. It got some players that would like to try the impossible in ze together, a near unstoppable force to be reckoned with...that is until mid 2014 and all hell broke loose. Rip. Probably better for pF ze to be dead over alive in a completely horrifying state.

P.S. I probably wouldn't want this server to be like pF either. Rather see that on a different community.

    3. I can't say anything about the current admins and if I were to be admin here because I rarely play here and that opinion is best left sealed. What I do look for in any admin is honor. When that person becomes admin, they took a responsibility to protect this server and the people involved. Of course that is all easier said than done as power can turn one into a different person.

    4. This. I will credit that player for being a genius.

  5. You all still manage to hang in there despite my loss. Impressive. I guess nobody misses me.

P.S. I wish I could play more but a combination general players, admins and non admins, as well as settings isn't a compatible match for me to play ze again.

  6. Warped pretty much summed the whole "Pirates isn't a good map at all" for me so I don't have to create a useless wall of text on why I think the map is bad. I made a similar thread about this map before.

Anyway, doing something about the trim mentality on this map is easier said than done because of bad map design. I hate to admit but the server has to avoid this map if they currently would like to tackle something fun and interesting (maybe go for a map that isn't in normal rotation). I can't really find a good time when to vote this map either.

  7. As much as I would say that @gkuo88's statements were a tad bit harsh, he does have a point. I have seen a community that put the extend option as number 4 but the results weren't all that different compared to the current vote system. Anyway...

GFL's settings aren't really that hard. The only reason for the difficulty is the 1.1 jump and bhop that zombies can sometimes not get knocked back even with team defending. It's very easy for a zm to pull off a tricky jump and tag a human even not near an edge compared to css. I view bhop at least in csgo more like something that should be disabled as opposed to enabled.

The current popularity of maps actually isn't bad seeing a mix of the modern/large maps with some classic styled maps. I'm not really a big fan of Fap Rote and Aesthetic. Fap Rote does have some serious flaws as well as the settings above make some parts of the map a pain to hold. Aesthetic on the other hand isn't a well designed map at all especially if the time it takes to complete the map is around 15-20 min (compared to the 10-12 min on ze_temple_raider).

Idk if I will ever lead on GFL again and get them to play some decent maps (let alone complete some map ports in hammer). I don't have a working mic atm. Even if I did, the whole community is rather not my cup of tea for reasons most of you probably know. In other words, I should say that there isn't much a point of changing the extend option anyway even if extend was randomized (we probably wouldn't want to know how that would turn out).
