  1. Don't forget: Not only does the current set of ranks already incorporate these things, but you can do it without rank too ;) A lot of people aren't promoted into a position to suddenly become whatever the position incorporates; they already have these characteristics and sometimes a fitting title is assigned to them.

    edit:

I elaborate on this in detail in a past thread, and so I'd like to share it in case you'd like to ponder on this further.

  2. In fairness to Jerry: How about now?

Clearly a third opening, but is it the same hole?

You could claim since it's coming out of a "new" opening, that it's not, but what about the differences between the first example

This comes out of the same opening

and the second one comes out of a "new" opening; namely: The other side.

So:  If the first two are one hole, but a different number openings, then shouldn't the first one be one hole too by our definition?  Maybe the number of branches should be considered although if one can turn around, then why can't the other?

(I'm not inferring my own answer here, but just asking some questions)

  3. Put your definitions to the test.  Is the only case of one hole the one with infinitesimally small length?

I doubt few would deny the one below is one hole with one opening although they could call it no holes and a dent instead, but what does this validate or invalidate above?

I think the confusion is the difference between what makes a hole and what makes an opening.

  4. I do recommend for interested candidates to really consider Developing.

There are a couple of great opportunities right now, and they look like a lot of fun.  I could sit there for hours doing this stuff for free instead of making my wages.

You may not get the position this time, but prepare yourself for the next opportunities.

CS:GO is really challenging because it is still being updated frequently, and these updates often have compatibility issues with our plugins or setups.

  5. There was a thread about having Council (formerly known as Community Advisors at its time) temporarily leading a division, but I cannot find that thread.

I  personally believe the ideas, concepts and mechanisms are very translatable and your suggestion would work well.  People have to remember that it's specifically the ideas, concepts and mechanisms and not so much copying the procedures exactly the same.  This may not make sense, and so I hope to provide an analogy to help:

    • If a friend of mine had an injury on their face and it was healing well, then I suspect they wouldn't be offended if I told them (a procedure) "Wow, your face is healing really well.  You look so good."
    • If another friend of mine had no injury on their face, then something would seem a bit off and possibly offensive if I used the same procedure "Wow, your face is healing really well.  You look so good."

The past arguments were over technical skills.  I can personally overlook this because I care more about a person's potential and what they can achieve in the future rather than what can they do "right now."  I know they really struggle accepting good candidates while they are looking for perfect candidates, and so maybe I will finish up here with a phrase I have thrown out there so many times before:

"Perfect is the enemy of good."

  6. I have only visited Ashland and its neighboring cities in the southern region of Oregon.  No sales tax, no traffic, but it's sometimes on the cold side and not much to do after a short while.  There was a wonderful park there, which had a giant hamster wheel you could run on, but I think some kids got hurt and their families sued the city :( ...  no more hamster wheel...  I don't care how old I am because that will always be my favourite.

My family enjoys the Shakespeare festival they have, and I have a lot of great memories.  I suspect I'll be visiting again...  possibly this coming holiday season although this is largely dependent on work.

I presented some kind of "green olive" salad dressing in a past thread.  My family learned this one from someone at the "Beasy's on the Creek" restaurant there.  I don't think the restaurant is very good and it's very expensive, but we loved that salad dressing.  Terrible name for a "fancy" restaurant if anyone is strongly familiar to American slang (reference).

Fun fact: I learned how to swim in that area.  Of course it was while I was a very young child.

  7. I just want to give some insight to anyone who isn't an Event Coordinator, although it's good to know as an Event Coordinator: I have seen in past communities and organizations, that these roles often make great pathways to leadership.  If you're interested in Staff positions, which would be quite good for you right now as inferred in earlier announcements, then I would definitely consider this.

Don't wait for things to be official.  Not an Event Coordinator?  It doesn't mean you can't take a stab at an event.  Remember: It's okay to fail.
