You'd be a nerd too if your library looked like this.

Someone also made my day by writing "Happy Monday!" on my drink.

Always a pleasure. I'll be sure to start my next book with "Kim..." I couldn't help but to laugh when I read the mashed sausage part because I can totally relate to that (although I'm a vegetarian, and so mine would probably be like mashed squashed or something).

Honestly...
The CS:S division needs some love, especially from directors, we're giving too much for the CS:GO & Gmod Division yet the CSGO one is partially failing, while the CS:S one is doing well with just 2 Servers, I think we should retreat from the 2 main division and give the CS:S division more attention, it won't even take 3 days, get a secondary DL that @Thomasdavid097 chooses, and have him run the 3rd server to be created (FFA, RC or Bomb Defusal, etc...), just my opinion.
Thanks,
Syntax.
They had a second division leader. There was a lot of drama in CS:S and a lot of bad decisions were made (I'm not saying who or what). Again: It's not as easy as it sounds.

There are still thousands of players. A full server doing really well will have about 30 players online. Is it too much to ask for <1% of the players to visit our servers?
I wont say if I am for or against, but I wont accept population as a valid excuse.

They were trying to introduce a Dust 2 / Mini Games server. I know it's not exactly the same as your suggestion, but it's not conceptually far from it. The amount of mistakes and things that went wrong... I wont discuss it, but my point is this: It's not as easy as it sounds.
I think the suggestion is going to need a little bit more of framework if you hope for the staff to make it happen. It was popular whenever I spontaneously hosted such an event, and so I do think the server can do well with a little bit of work.

I'm glad you are taking steps to put your health and quality of life first.
I also praise someone who will not be a victim- you're not a victim. If people think running at a fast pace and for lengthy periods of time is hard, then try doing it with health problems and committing to it most everyday you can.
Thanks for keeping us in the loop and I hope your efforts give you relief.

I always like more features, but it sounds a lot of work for little return unless the domain already has this readily/easily available.
Something to tread carefully on is the amount of necro-posting we can get. The teams with forum moderator permissions have done well at shielding this from you guys, but the necro-posting can get pretty aggressive, and this feature sounds like an an enabling tool for those type of posters. I personally believe - although I have no precise measure - there are more people who necro-post than people who would appreciate seeing a bumped post 10 or 11+ topics ago.
What do you propose to combat this beyond more or stricter enforcement?

You could host a Halloween themed banner competition. You don't need to wait for Staff or the Creative team to do it. If the artwork is available or they see something good, then there's a chance they can transform something from unofficial into official
and if not, then at least it will be a fun competition.

Wonderful announcement and I recommend this to anyone who is interested in the STEM field. A lot of reputable organizations are willing to look through your GitHub profiles to see your work despite its applications (they care more about the fundamental understanding, syntax, and strategy), and so it can be used a lot like a resume/CV.
This is very valuable experience and it's one of few areas that more easily translate into real world opportunities. You've got nothing to lose whether it be a rejected application or producing very few projects, but you have so much to gain. The time you put into it is a direct investment on yourself.
I'm glad to see some effort being put into this side of GFL once again. Nice.

Cant wait for the new GFL to come even though I haven't seen the old GFL because i join a few months ago would be glad to hear more abput the updates and old GFL
I'm guilty of reminiscing myself, but it doesn't mean you cannot help create some new good times. My advise for yourself and some of these tasks is to not wait for these updates. Be the update.
I think we're going on circles with the whole "name" thing again (let us reflect back on Council, Community Advisor, and the varying Director titles). Focus more on the action. Does "Mini Divisions" really need a new name? If I were to suggest another one, then I've seen "Advocacy" or "Advocate" work and it's shorter than Mini Division. These are advocating games of GFL and not really one (technically) facilitated, created, or modded by GFL.

I thought this one might be fun. I was thinking of it as I wrote some names onto a post-it for pictures; I was also thinking about those typing speed test threads, and how people write so formally on the forums. I wonder if their writing is legible too. I bet some people can be like Shakespeare online, but their writing makes a doctor's signature look like it was written with a quill during the 1700's.

What's your handwriting like? You don't necessarily have to show it unless you'd like- just talking about it is good enough for the intentions of this thread. If you do happen to share it, then I recommend keeping it very brief.

I have a lot to say, but it is too much for me to write. Good luck!

Then why the fuck do they still call it "Boy Scouts"?
Yep they should merge both organisations into one and just call it "Scouts".
what
I said the same thing in February
Nice
I think CrusTi's post is just sarcasm.

I think this is a good thing.

Doesn't the GFL virgin also rub their little one up against the door and rotates it in a counter-clockwise direction 28 times in order to open it? #DoorhuggerElite

I've seen what happens when staff moves forward with this suggestion: People will complain about a map being played too long or too frequent, and that noobs constantly extend the map without knowing.
I personally think a better solution would be to make the order (pseudo) random including nominations and the extend, which would be a sensible compromise between the two groups (one group complaining about noobs extending, and the other about noobs not extending) and I would imagine it would be easy to implement.
edit:
Wow: This topic is surprisingly hot. I'd like to follow up on this without bumping it via a new post, and suggest that the TA/Developer team modify mapchooser.sp just to have several options available and ready to go. It's not to say "Modify mapchooser.sp and install its executable right now", but just to have the .sp files available and to use it as a form of training for the growing technical team, or to even have it ready for testing for a week or two and see how your members may react to it. I am certain the randomization or choosing constants for specific choices such as extend is only a few lines of codes and the API has a random variable function already available. Great training or practice opportunity even if it's not used, in alignment with Roy's recent announcement, and to show an effort at satisfying your members @Xy_, @Nick, @xSnowyAngel; furthermore: If nobody has the code available, then this would be an alternate way of advertising GFL by having it available on AlliedModders and adding subtle advertisement into the console.

At least you can truthfully say you improved the server activity although you might want to leave out its improvement is because you're leaving ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) keep up the great work

I'd like to encourage you to aim for Developer sooner than later. I think very few people are ever ready and you really need to dive in. I would suggest to Staff developing a "Pathway" or "Trainee" badge if they must uphold some type of standard, and invest into training their team members with the simple projects. Stupid things like self-beacon on CS:S is super easy (like 3 ~ 4 lines of code modified into the old beacon.sp) and trainees could try it out. This could really give Developers a good running start in addition to allowing Server Managers officially select them.
If you're worried about having too many badges, then I would say junk the "Trial Admin" ones and use the broader terms. I like the sound of "Pathway" because it shows you are on path to the full position (not quite there yet) and it doesn't sound as degrading as Trainee.
For you: I suggest getting on AlliedModders right away and dabbling with notepad++ and compilers such as Eclipse or even basic Quincy to get started right away (your favourite leaders here definitely do that, and I've seen it at all the other surviving communities). Mess with the basics. Take code you're already familiar with and try making little tweaks ie. in CS:S you could take a beacon and make it so people can self-beacon (3 ~ 4 lines of code) or change the colour of the beacon (changing a variable). There are some bad ass programmers who can make things from scratch, but you don't need to reinvent the wheel to improve the community and your skills- even in real life we take things we're familiar with and massage them into cool and new things.
Good luck, and you're going to do great. If you don't need to step down, then I would suggest asking for your role back and seeing if you can be Developer for breach. Improve the community both socially/cultural and on the technical side.

Some friends were in town and we explored a park at 1 am. It was neat!

Welcome back.
I personally don't think it's necessary to step down, resign, or leave from other communities to do well here
