  1. I really like Harry Potter, and so even though I know these quizzes are bummy...  it's still fun.  I always thought I was a Slytherin, but I guess it's easy to forget about the other houses and I think they're cool too.  Which house did you think you were in, and which one did this buzzfeed quiz place you in?  I added the poll for a fun GFL statistic.

  2. A piece of the James Webb Space Telescope.  I couldn't help it...  I had to re-watch Armageddon.  I can't remember where the rest of it is at.  I think it's still in California with NG (a friend worked on it).  Yes: It's in a clean room.

Also got to meet a total legend.  I suspect most youngsters wont know who he is, but he was the Flight Director for the Apollo missions and he is credited for saving the lives of the Apollo 13 crew: Gene Kranz!  That part was no tour... just pure luck!

He's portrayed in the movie, Apollo 13.  I put a clip in the spoiler ("white vest guy").  I don't have the movie, but I really want to re-watch that one too.  So much history in this city!  If it weren't for the terrible weather here, then I probably wouldn't mind living here.

  3. I have never understood why people care about the reputation point system on the forums, and I am meaning this from both angles.  The first angle being yourself as someone who wants a high reputation... who cares?  Does it benefit yourself or anyone else to have a higher reputation point?  If there is, then I'd like to know so I can reap these mysterious rewards.  Nobody likes what I say anymore anyways.

The other angle?  Why the hell does the leadership here care if you guys abuse your reputation.  I remember sitting in one of our donkey TS meetings where a Directorate noticed someone else had a higher reputation than them, and it was because some person was "liking" every post of another member.  It's definitely true, that this looked suspicious, but there was nothing objective to say the particular member abused the reputation, and what if they had no say and the other person liking all of their posts chose to do it on their own?  The directorate sought out to reduce the member's reputation points by a substantial amount.  What should it matter if someone wants their reputation points to be high?  Just let it be.  Reducing their reputation points did nothing to better the community in my opinion, and it risked that member's loyalty and morale.

...  in summary:  There's no need for you to feel sorry.  This event shouldn't be making you feel worse.  Reputation points can be a fun side thing when it feels like people are liking your content or even a bloated number to boost your confidence, but you can have even more fun if you just focus on the other aspects of a community such as the game and your friends here.

    Who's space suit is that?

I looked into your earlier question, which was posted a while ago (reference), and it turns out that ~ 165 different people have used that suit because they aren't fitted for any particular persons.

This is all some summer space camp program stuff, which is how I've been so lucky in seeing all these things.

  5. A suggestion I made in the past was simply scrapping Operators and switching to Tiered Admins.  This way: They can have access to the Server Admin and (operation) Team Forums, which would likely give them valuable insight, better prepare them for higher tiers and leadership roles, and increase the probability they will invest in the community by helping these teams ie. Creative Team and Developer.  Everyone would be "Server Admin" on the forums as a follow up to your suggestion, and Senior Admins and Trial Admins can still have their badges.

I don't know why people here became so stingy.  We were working on the whole open communication thing, and now everything has switched to a "need" much like the military's "need to know" basis as if there's some kind of risk or cost.  I've been very unhappy with the direction we took.

I'm the most dumb guy here.

    Welcome back.

@Joshy, are you saying, that "incest is the best?" ::o:

I asked if it's a family thing because of the phone.  I haven't looked into Duc's background to know personal information including age, and I've known some families to tell their kids not to use their phones during their trips or vacations.

I had no idea where your comment came from, but I am now thinking you are making a stretched joke about "work" ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

  8. That's right.  I'm just touring the area.  I thought I posted the Mission Control one here?  ("Houston, we have a problem.")  Just for last week: They had the Apollo stuff out.  What a special time and treat for me to visit.

  9. It's very risky for "higher ups" to join other game modes.

Your message means well, but it's overlooking a safer, sustainable, and more effective alternative:  Corresponding leadership should be working on attracting their players to the forums and working on community orientation.  These players visiting the forums will give your game mode personality, building friendships and connections, and will increase the probability of cross-talk between them.

  10. This thing was awesome!  I could definitely relate to this robot as I think about some good times in ZE.  You had three types of players: 1) The people who just bhop right across whatever pathway it is, 2) take it slow and easy to make it across, and 3) slow and easy, but you'll still fall cause you're Joshy.

I have no idea.  I don't think they fit the suits for any particular person, but they may have been flown on a specific mission.

... been missing all of you guys. The place I'm living at has super sketch wifi (even more sketch than the Starbucks wifi I'm using now), and so I haven't been willing to touch it with anything. I'll be moving again soon and we'll get back on track. I hope you guys enjoy the video! I was told the simulator is difficult to flip.

  13. The article concentrates on the environmental changes more than the potential of life.  They're really curios if some large or singular event changed the environment, or if it's something that slowly changed over time.  I just finished a more advanced course in solar system physics by a well-regarded professor and, to my understanding, it's mostly accepted there was once at least microbial life on mars.

Their bigger bit of news, this week, was the announcement of twelve new astronaut candidates (reference).  I didn't know Mike Pence was such a big fan, but he visited Johnson Space Center to join the announcement.  I think he did a pretty good job although there were too many JFK references in my opinion, but I did like his analogy with the box turtle on a fence post.  I was not there.

The link you posted didn't work for me.  Here's the link if anyone wants to read the OP's summarized article: https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/news.php?feature=6870
