I don't wonder why @Joshy has so many picture's anymore. I wonder who takes them... :o.O:

It depends.  I simply ask strangers in many of these places.

Apparently, it's Earth day or something like that.  I just took this picture a few days ago:

-1 Shit goodbye, no effort, doesn't even follow the format.

You're supposed to start off with a sad opening, then complain about stuff on the server, mention your busy schedule / addiction / boredom, say some gay shit about the staff on here, THEN leave.

    Unacceptable. Just lock it.

I know you're just joking, but take a look at the CS:S division ::|: we might be saying goodbye to it soon.  Some of the other players aren't even making a goodbye thread (these silent ones are the worst in terms of the community wanting to recover).  Among the many broken record preaching things I say... listening to the ones who are upset and complain is extremely valuable for the community.  I've posted this phrase before, but I'll share it again:

"A wise man gets more use from his enemies than a fool from his friends." - Baltasar Gracian

It's meaning, in this context, that you already think and like the things of people who already like you (their love is almost unconditional), and they're not going to tell you anything bad; the others will be the first to jump on the problems, share a unique perspective for you to choose from, which gives leadership the opportunity to respond, resolve or innovate.  I know one of the more recent announcements was front-loading a grim future for CS:S, but I disagree with the reasons it inferred.  CS:S is definitely dying, but many decisions had a pronounced correlation with the population as loyal players openly responded on the forums, and this decay is far more rapid after such decisions compared to CS:S overall.

Even if we were to stipulate that CS:S dying is the main cause, then there's another phrase I've posted up before, which I believe would be helpful for consideration:

"Take away my people, but leave my factories, and soon grass will grow on the factory ... but leave my people, and soon we will have a new and better factory." - Andrew Carnegie

People got mad at me for complaining about TF2's forum activity (behind the scenes).  They may have not liked it, but truth be told: A game or mode can die and people can still stay with the community.  A game like CS:S could easily vanish, but have no effect on the clan.  How?  Players can stay on the forums, enjoy many other games or modes, or be prepared for a recovery (we did temporarily lose CS:S Surf RPG DM due to sabotage and many people stuck around, which helped tremendously in the recovery!)  We can see that the few who were more active on the forums did stick around and explored other opportunities, and I have definitely seen this happen in many other communities (RuneScape being a super good example as I'm a part of a community that is still active despite many of the players' inactivity in game).  This is an example of what it means to be community oriented.  When a game dies... too... these people often become more active on the forums as they are playing less (this is a trend I have seen in other communities); they can enhance the conversations in General Discussion and Off-Topic, which is attractive for external visitors and can be more enjoyable for current members, and it really helps the clan grow.

  3. I doubt someone here would do that, but it's a fun coincidence and it caught my attention; I'm also back in the US.

I've met someone here before and it was a good experience (here's the post followed by this one).  I've had good experiences meeting friends from online communities with the exception of one person.  I will be traveling again soon and I plan to meet two more people in my next destination...  of course: with mutual discretion.

  4. That is such a sweet Easter gift!  I hope you had a good one, and I think you're really going to enjoy CS:GO.  I've personally always liked Zombie Escape and we don't have it for CS:S anymore, but the game is too resource intensive for my old computer :( and so I cannot play often.  I am a very busy person anyways.

  5. I love dystopian themes, the idea of alternate universes, and I enjoyed Guy Fawkes night while staying in London.  I think it's a good story and has a lot of very interesting points and perspectives, but it's just one of those movies I can live with seeing only once.

We can't do this as the rank needs to be set up so that they can see the Creative team sub forum.

However both of us will have our main rank set to Creative team in a couple minutes.

Why not just be redundant and give them both such that even if they're not an admin, then they'll have a badge anyways.  This way will cover all corners.

  7. @upin is bringing to attention a serious problem, and the responses to his thread reveals further issues with our community.  I personally don't see this as "whining", but lets stipulate that it is: He's giving the Staff a chance to save the server before he leaves too.  We also have to remember that...  even though this is the internet...  it's a rule of thumb in business, that only one in ten upset customers will be vocal about an issue, which means there are at least 9 others who are also upset about this situation.

The best response here is to thank him, and to keep him in the loop about these updates.  The server might be down for maintenance and it's great that there is an announcement about it...  what's the game plan?  I've never seen the server go down for maintenance longer than a brief minute or two, and definitely not for days on.  I'm not trying to step on Manslayer's toes here, but this is really bad and it does seem like our server is slipping.  This is largely the remainder of our CS:S division, and these are the most loyal players to our community as the game is outdated, after past sabotages, and still a very good selection of other RPG servers they can go to.

Is the RPG not available on AlliedModders?  This server didn't have too many customization and I suspect we could just start fresh to let players back on while it's tuned back to our old settings.

  8. I would say you could do both, but I got demoted.  Good choice!  I didn't know you were so close to me, but I've moved away.  I was attending Imperial.

I cannot say that I'm the best person to talk to, but I'm here for you if you want to chit-chat whether it be school related or not.
