    i was 13 when i joined GFL for the first time. i am now 21.

     

    i have been a part of GFL for over a third of my life. not always active/staff, since i left staffing a few years ago, but the memories are still there for me to appreciate. this place had a HUGE impact on making me who i am now. even though it's mostly symbolic for me at this point, since i've been gone a few years, it cannot be overstated how hard it is to see this. it's a big reality check.

     

    i hope lots of you stick around in the discord, it'll be nice to reminisce.

     

    for everyone i ever played with, staffed with, or worked under me:
    i'm going to miss you guys, and i have already. it's too long to write a full list but i promise you that i haven't forgotten any of you. even if we had disagreements or any kind of negative relationship, you still hold a special place in my heart.

    Talk as much shit about repping GFL merch as you want, but I'm genuinely pleased to see things like this being created. If nothing else, a reminder of the memories i gathered will be a worthwhile investment.

     

    I very much like the designs and I can tell they were well thought out. Great job.

    Nonmember pointshop items

    Nonmembers should be able to purchase some things, however they should be very minimal. For example the current Member models could have the price raised some and moved to User while a few better models are added to member. Having users be able to purchase things in the shop will make cosmetics feel more accessible (despite with member being free there are still misconceptions out there) and will look more appealing to the common player.

    Plus, there already was a Murder discord server that retired that I still have in storage lol. It never was that active and there was little use for it other than server updates which we can post in the GMod Discord anyway.

     

    Blizzard announces Overwatch 2

    i came here hoping to see decent hype because i'm certainly hyped for it but glad to see my expectations were long ruined by the part of blizzard that likely had very little to do with Overwatch 2's production being consistently shit on for the hong kong thing which while yes, they overreacted, they took steps to rectify their mistake and why can't y'all just appreciate that they're still trying to make enjoyable content for Overwatch through it all?

     

    Also the PVP in OW2 was intentionally lesser than OW1. They're not trying to split the playerbase. OW2 is meant to be more of the lore side of things and backstory and the PvE experience lots of players, including myself, wanted.

    Missing You Guys + Update

    what's up gamers its ya boi, i'm gonna keep this kinda short so it doesn't turn into a marathon to read. I just wanted to check in, say hello and let you guys know how things are going.

     

    I've hung out in the Discord every now and then but I've definitely been busy. I'm still passionate about Overwatch and OWL and still going strong. My mechanics aren't the best and they're keeping me at about Gold level but I've been climbing and I'm pretty sure I should be able to reach Plat next season.

     

    I've also gotten my driver's license, been working at Sooubway, got a new girlfriend who's amazing, and i'm managing to keep up pretty good grades so far in my junior year. Last year was really stressful on pretty much all fronts and I'm really happy things are passing over and starting to get better.

     

    Stepping back to Overwatch, I've found a new org called NFG and I have tried out and made the roster for their Academy team as a hyper flex player. (Mostly off tank and dps at the moment) They're excellent and I'm having a lot of fun and learning even more. @keentime my old friend has come with me through a lot of team stuff and we still have a good talk and reminisce about GFL every now and then.

     

    I see a lot of changes in GFL, including some servers that are gone.  @Zero Excellent work making it to DL my friend. I wish I could make a full time return to this community, but I don't think I have enough time to make it worth it. I just wanted to check in and let you guys know I haven't forgotten about you ::x: Maybe I'll stop by more frequently over a break from school, I'd love to catch up and hear about all the cool things that are going on.

     

    You guys are awesome and keep up the great work. Anyone new since I left, welcome to the community that became my family for so long.
