Disclaimer: I'm not resigning yet. Chances are when I get to that point I just won't be arsed to write one. Maybe a big long tag list but I wanted to talk a little more on this.
Disclaimer II:
I'm not on the "GFL is corrupt" train or the "Toxicity is too much" train; I'm just running out of steam.
It may be very evident at this point, but I am seriously losing my mojo. It's getting really difficult for me to find the motivation to go to my computer to work for GFL.
I love GFL. I've poured my heart and soul out for this community for the past 2 and a half years. In fact, this is the first gaming community I've ever joined. I've learned so much and met so many awesome people (many of whom have also came and went.) and it hurts my heart to write this right now. I hate feeling like I'm drifting away from the community that I still love a lot but there's really no other explanation for what I'm seeing.
GFL is not the same as it was. *see disclaimer II
So many people have come and gone, so many servers have come and gone, so many staff, and I've seen a lot and done a lot. It's been amazing but the feel I get from the community is very different now. I'm in no way upset with the community, but those select few are not wrong when they say GFL has changed massively.
I don't want to leave, I don't want Deathrun to die, I don't want to let down this community. I just feel like I've done the extent of my personal limits. Putting the same kind of hours into working on server management that never seems to pay off, it really doesn't feel worth it anymore. That doesn't help.
I love managing, just Deathrun in general has mostly lost my interest. I want someone reliable and fresh to take it over but it seems the search for that kind of person is not happening, despite my requests. GFL Murder was what brought me to this community and I miss it. The idea of a revival has been gaining a lot of support lately and I would love to go back to it. Deathrun has been great as well, but I definitely think that Murder is where I should be staying. The servers shutting down are not what has been driving me away (especially given that happened a long time ago) but I am sure that if it is reopened I would stay longer. This isn't some sort of "bring it back or i'm leaving" dumbass demand, simply my thoughts. Calm your tits.
However, real life has also gotten busy. Marching band has already started and the school year isn't far behind. I'm going to be doing baseball in the fall as well. This isn't very out of the way but I already won't be super active even if I get my motivation back somehow.
I don't want to leave Games For Life. I really don't. However, I also can't keep burning myself out even more, and I don't want to be more of a burden than I already am/have been. This community has been very good to me. I'm literally tearing up writing this post. Whether I stay or not, each and every one of you will be dear to my heart, whether you liked me or hated me.
-I'll spare you all the long ping list for now. I'll make one later if i change my mind or feel like writing more.-
It's getting really difficult for me. I'm sorry for any activity I may have between Deathrun and Discord Mod. I just need a break. I hope it doesn't come to me actually leaving the community.
Love you all.

How would you describe your activity?
Mostly only when someone has a question or needs support for something, I do not normally just start conversation.
It appears you've never said anything in the Discord?
I'll go -1 because I've never seen you before, and your activity really doesn't back you up. Application is decently written but I'd like to see your activity go up a lot before I even consider changing my vote.

To be blunt with you. Asking for MOD applications to be opened again comes off as power hungry. Not saying you are but it looks bad.
Yeah, I understand. I'd be completely lying if I said I didn't ask partially for myself, but I do think in general it did help to reopen applications.
I definitely see how it could look bad on me to be asking for this but I can assure you that my intentions are more significant than power hunger.

What is your alias and ID on discord? Winter#6242
How would you describe your activity?
I participate in conversations primarily via text daily, occasionally I join voice channels. I can be on-call most of the day and even if I am not actively in the server at the time, I try to come as fast as possible when I’m pinged.
Why are you interested in becoming a discord mod?
I know this question is to be about why I would like to become a mod, but I’m going to use this space to address a few other points.
The Discord Moderator position is one that I have liked for awhile. The idea of keeping the server from dropping into chaos while also finding and implementing suggestions to improve the efficiency and functionality of the server is something I like. Especially when it comes to things like Discord, I prefer keeping things organized while helping people enjoy its use. Discord in general has become something I’ve enjoyed working with the “technical” side of. (Not including bots and webhooks, but I’d like to put some time aside to learn more about those as well at some point in the future.)
To add to this, I believe I would be a good addition to the team. Admittedly, I can be silly and possibly toxic on occasion. More importantly, however, I know when a situation needs to be taken seriously. When it comes to moderation, I have little to no hesitation when punishments need to be given. I am reliable, unbiased and experienced in moderation, which I’ve gained over the long 2 years I’ve been with this community.
I am not afraid to take criticism, and I handle it well. Self-improvement is always a beneficial thing in my opinion. If I need to change something I’m doing or how I’m doing it, then all I wish is to be told what I’m doing wrong and an idea on how I can improve.
Furthermore, my activity would not be an issue. While I do manage GMOD Deathrun, admittedly it is a smaller server and it does not consume all of my time. I am confident that I will be able to be consistently active and able to participate in my duties. Even if the Deathrun server manages to grow, I still will set aside time to come to Discord just about every day. Even while I am not home, I use Discord Mobile very often and will still be reachable.
I encourage questions and concerns, and I will gladly answer them. Please do not be afraid to ask. If it is something you wish to keep off of the thread, do not hesitate to DM me via Discord. How would you typically go about handling a conflict between two users?
The way a conflict is to be handled really depends on the issue at hand. Solutions can vary and still be effective. “Verbal” warnings, moderation warnings, and mutes can come into play when necessary. The most simple solution would be to have the users in question take their discussion/argument into their DMs so that it is not public, and can be settled in private. In some situations, users are provoked into their conflict, and in others, they are caused intentionally. The ability to read a situation and analyze what the issue is will be very important in determining the best solution to various types of user conflict.
Have you ever been warned or muted? If so, explain what happened.
I have one warning that was given during an afterhours. Tuesday, July 10, at 2:34am EST. Reason: stop being mean. To elaborate, a user I won’t name and I got a little out of hand. Excessive teasing and I didn’t realize how much it was affecting the person in question. I understand this is very recent, but I can assure everyone that I have learned my lesson. Aside from this, I have a clean slate, although I probably deserved many mutes in the past (mass tagging, annoying, etc.) but I have learned from those experiences as well. I appreciate your consideration.
Discord Moderators and Trusted+, please +1 or -1 this application with an explanation for your vote.
