  1. You were not muted with no prior warnings. A call was made that you were mic spamming, upon arrival it quickly became pretty obvious that you only behave "well" when admins are on, as you immediately started once foolish left, not knowing I'm also an admin. Now when foolish left arn said the n-word a few times and claimed "oh you cant punish me for that im part of a community", for that i gave him 5 min mute as a warning and he did not repeat.

You and ice then starting spamming voicechat in which i asked "can you guys shut up?" where both of you quickly replied that i should "stfu or come on mic if you want something". For that i gave both of you 5 minute mutes, even though at this point you should have been muted for 1 week considering your previous record.

Fast forward, map change, ice complains in chat and says "im gonna snap your dick in half, pussy admin" etc. For this i gave him a silence of 30 min. To follow up you made similar harassment towards the "unknown". Now this was not just "whoever muted me is a bitch" and you know that, and for that reason i decided to give you your 1 week mute considering you already had a 1 day mute on record.

To explain myself a bit about the "no reason for being muted" i answered all of you with reason for every punishment in textchat, the fact that you choose to ignore that is not my fault

  2. Small tip: Learn to use turnbinds "+left" and "+right". Learning to use these is not a must, but it can elevate your overall skill and ability to improve on certain maps. By getting used to these you will have a much easier way of going through "spirals" or other parts where keeping momentum while going downwards is crucial.

  3. Another surfer who's interest is lost after being server manager for GFL. FeelsBadMan, HOW MANY MORE LIVES DO YOU NEED TO TAKE CRUEL SERVERS!?
That being said i hope to still see you around from time to time. I need a certain amount of people to be cocky towards to :^)

  4. Im not really sure which admins you are referring to however i know that none of the admins are toxic. Many, me including are cheeky but nowhere near toxic. If you feel like there is a general problem feel free to report us to the server manager and he can deal with the problems.

Furthermore if you feel that the admins have destroyed the servers i would suggest applying yourself.

Last: This is not really a thread to complain about such things :)

  5. I have already linked Deltacommander to a google docs some of the staff members made a while ago with ideas, you can always pm me for the link if you want it. Other than that just do as Delta wrote and pm him or potato if you want information. Im sure they would happily replay :)

  6. The main reason in my opinion for people leaving is the poor performance of the servers. Considering how big of a community GFL is, it seems weird that we cant a few solid surf servers to run, when we got so many others well running servers across multiple games.

There are a few things that have resulted in this current state that should be fixed.

    1. Straight up neglection from the higher ups. For me it doesnt make any sense how six empty servers can be anywhere near a good sign. Now i know that there has been a few peaks with population, but in general three of the servers have been empty and the other three have been with max 10 people playing pr. server. Considering that we a year ago had four full servers this is a sad development and somewhat impressive that so many servers can be neglected like that. Honestly think the servers need a fresh start, this would include: Remove all current admins (active and non active) and get some new, meticulous, and highly motivated staff. Remove 2-4 of the servers so we have less to focus on, and maybe use the money saved to buy a custom timer like the bhopservers have.

    2. The lack of communication between the server staff and the forums. Even though several posts have been made to adress these issues, i feel like the majority of the active players and staff from surf timer barely use the forums which is a shame. Hopefully can a new staff team get this communication to work better than previous...

  7. I think the main conflict about getting another manager is the point of view. For anyone below manager it seems like the best option is to just add another manager. Because many believes a manager should be able to fix every problem within 1 hour of it occurring (Like some superhuman). But this is just not possible, no matter how many managers we add.  So maybe a solution could be, to write down problems occurring when and where and make a list for the manager to fix when he got time for it. I will however point out that the servers were running more smoothly (imo) when we had Ross and Frenzy as managers :)

  8. I think the main problem is the timezone difference. There is a lot of times where a manager is needed during daytime in EU but where and US manager is sleeping or something else. By adding another manager from EU this downtime without an online manager gets reduced a lot. Worth noting im not claiming that a manager should be on 24/7 they are humans aswell, most of them at least

  9. The ranks are based on points, which are gained from completing maps (Faster times gives more points). The rank name itself is nothing but a name to show which interval of points you are in.  You can always do !ranks to check the other ranks :)
