if racism is and derogatory terms are defined by humans and we make them does that mean if we think something is simply not racist or degrading and we think it's positive does that mean we can change any word and how it's used as a whole think of how we can change any word we ever want and use it in another context and make it the new meaning of that word or how that word is used can we as humanity make everything not racist or derogatory and everything positive in some way or another?

if needed here is how we can do this together we as a human race shall make racism not exist https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolutionary_linguistics

and yes, everything you listed here is possible regarding colloquialisms but unless there is a drastic change in how we interact with one another there is no way that even in 50 years the n word will be tolerable, same with fuck and bitch.

    shut up dan

  3. For future reference, many maps have lists of the music used during the map. Wanderer's palace, santassassination, and other non shit maps have them all in the admin rooms, close to spawn. PM the creator of said maps for music help too!

Finally, when all else fails (no youtube playlists, no music lists, map creator not helpful) you can get all files used for the map using a program called "PakRat" (NOTE, I DO NOT CONDONE PLAGIARISM AND FUCK YOU IF YOU USE PAKRAT FOR THAT) including mp3s and songs. Finally, download said songs to your computer and try using a program such as shazam on your phone to identify said songs.

IF everything else fails, just reach out to the community and ask people like @Shiki who know lots about ze map music.

  4. The song is from an anime called aldnoah zero, called "keep on keeping on". NOTE - I fucking hate anime, and you cannot find the original on youtube due to copyright infringement. Here is the soundcloud link, same thing.

  5. I don't know why this whole debate is still ongoing, while no nominations day might be hated by most of the regulars (there are wayyyy fewer on every no nom day) it's still a great way to try new maps and attract new players... The point of no nom day isn't to have players play tryhard maps, it's for you to relax and play some new maps rather than dumbass port royale or other overplayed garbage...

It's only one day of the week too, you can sink into your endless cycle of nominating garbage for the 6 other days of the week and stop hating on the one time you aren't able to nominate the same overplayed maps.

  6. ze_random tips

during the boss fight 4 humans must jump off the platform (sacrifice)and activate four buttons in each corner of the room in order to survive the fight

whoever is leading should jump off of the elevated platform (the platform being the word ZOMBIE)  and stay far back from the U during the boss fight and get the entire team off of it before it collapses and the zombies are able to knife the humans (using the U in MURDER).

have a few dedicated shooters for the couch, rest of the team defends

    don't troll like a douche

no nom day is every week on sundays, we used to do it on saturdays but we changed it to sundays.

aside from those maps being overplayed, nominations gets filled up right away almost immediately as soon it become available. Usually the regulars that do these  and  other players are bummed out not being able to nominate maps they want to play. you literally have to race for a spot in the nomlist lol.

we considered having nomination command for members only, or certain maps to be nominated for vip only.

or in any way for so we can limit how much 1 person can nominate.

im not quite sure what happen about these ideas, but im pretty sure that these ultimately lead into no-noms-day.

2-3 is a message to let them know to not carelessly pick a random map without giving thought of first.

please don't make nominating certain maps vip only.

It takes very little to be "good" but it takes a lot to be one of the best tbh (come at me salt bitches I'm waiting and need my :pjsalt:) Also I responded on nied post and I'll tl:dr it here.

Lasers if you are into them.

Fuck around if you are or aren't into option 1.

That's all that keeps me playing ze,.... if I didn't have a mic I'd probably be playing something else->ow or wow since I know some people who play them.

the thing is there is nothing to show you are the best... What makes you the best? simply beating a map doesnt make you the best, or even good at all. Bhopping is not an indicator too, and laser survivability as mentioned above is based on many more factors than just skill. Item usage is also you just pressing e, which is extremely mindless.

  9. I've been kind of curious as to how players have been playing this gamemode for such a long time when I feel like there really is no sense of true progression nor achievement (I've been playing since mid-late 2015, old to some and barely anything to others). Because of this, I wanted to ask you guys, old and new players alike why do you play ze, and what do you like about it? As of now this gamemode is kind of getting stale for me, playing the same maps over and over again along with the absolute lack of any sort of progression really just drives me away and pushes me towards other things where practice and skill allow you to progress in said game and where skill can actually be measured. To answer my own question, I still play ze because of the wacky community that is GFL with its cancer, randoms, neckbeards, and other goofballs.

To elaborate on what I mean when I say lack of progression, I simply mean that there is an extremely low skill floor and extremely low ceiling, meaning that it takes little to no effort to be "good" at a map or area of ze gameplay (such as bhopping) and that once the small amount of effort is put in, there is almost no way to be better. A player playing for years is virtually indistinguishable from a player who played the same map two times, can bhop, and can press a little button called e on their keyboard. While I do understand that lasers are a large part of the so called "skill" of ze,  ability to survive lasers is dependent on a huge number of factors such as ping, focus, internet, and simply better computers. Furthermore, I feel like they degrade what ze really is - being a team based gamemode where you win as a team or die as a team. Instead, lasers make it so that if you have good ping and aren't a bozo you live while more than 3/4ths of the team just dies horribly possibly for reasons beyond their control (ping, rubberbanding, all sorts of stuff). Perhaps it is me that is viewing this entire gamemode wrong - maybe it isn't something to tryhard or put effort into at all.

TL;DR - Ze is getting stale to me due to a low skill floor and low skill ceiling, wanted to ask you people what drives you to play ze and whether what i'm feeling happens/ed to you guys too.

Get a mic and start to lead. Mappers will always go about and make harder maps, and harder maps means more losing. Problem is with too many losses, the atmosphere will turn against the map and people will stop trying unless a leader steps in. The aspect that servers return to playing the same old maps is just natural, if you want to change it, get more of a reputation to influence the community, considering the community clearly enjoys playing those maps or they themselves are influenced by another dude with a mic.

The same applies to item usage. As maps get harder they will require more perfect item usage in order to beat, or the map requiring an item to be used in a certain manner in order to proceed. Any level of originality will be regarded as trolling and not a new tactic. This is because the end result is usually an entire wasted round due to one person not explaining themselves and the rest of the server either being really pissed or not wanting to try anymore. Get a mic and lead and maybe you can convince the general populace to try something new without being labeled as a troublemaker.

once again nearly every single thing you listed can be exhausted really easily, learning how to press e better isn't engaging or rewarding in any way once you get the general idea, and leading on GFL is kind of dull nowadays where when we are tryharding, we lose (diddle every single day) and when we aren't tryharding, it's flat out cancer... To cope with boredom with ze in general you have to simply quit playing it for some time, and play other games or do other things. Playing the same maps every single day is bound to get annoying, easy solution is take periodic breaks to keep it fresh.

Once you've played every map and beaten what you want to beat and simply do everything there is to do in this gamemode, most people flat out quit - Key being a prime example.

This gamemode is really just not sustainable as unless you like playing the same maps over and over again with little to no reward for beating maps or actually being good at this gamemode, you simply move on. Perhaps if there was any sort of progression at all in this mod, things wouldn't be this way.

This was a subject talked by some people and the simple way to put it is that x person gets that status and when the mute period for votes come they don't get muted and can keep leading, the admins can keep playing and they don't need to use a bind to unmute all since there is always a possibility that among that "all" there will be spammers. Additionally leaders could have access to beacon (this can be discussed like the concept of the suggestion itself of course), but the main point of this suggestion is to put the idea out there since it won't be a change from night to day and since I don't know how gfl handles mute exceptions I don't know how much work this change can come with.

Also an idea I thought was to just create this externally as another status (like vip, admin) and people that are known leaders could be given this status (not to flood the forums with another application tab).

I tried to keep this simple and direct but any further questions feel free to post here or send me a pm on steam or discord.

    Kind regards

seems pretty extra especially with the admins really hating additional plugins, I see admins unmuting the leaders instantly when voting happens and they 100% surprisingly do it somewhat well and quickly. And yes, admins are on nearly every map and ESPECIALLY tryhard maps where people actually lead, not your generic cancer map.

    Basically, no

    :stop:

And about your status suggestion, I like it but it also seems kinda useless - All the good leaders are pretty much already known and respected (like me of course) and don't need a title next to their name saying "LEADER". People are surprisingly good at allowing better leaders to lead without much of a fight.
