The other thing that Ben brought up is the interaction. I hate how member acceptor feels like such a process here almost like going to the DMV for your driver license and waiting for people to approve of things. I would rather change its tone to something like a "hook up". Someone joins the server and they're curious about all these subtle differences members have... the server admin can engage with the player and "hook them up". "Check out our forums and put in the application... I'll hook you up!" I feel like this will be far more effective in securing people into the community; it also gets them familiar with someone who's already in the in (the server admin).
I never thought about that, it is literally like the DMV. Almost all the time, people who get denied get that result due to their lack of response. People continue to play on the servers, but don't check forums because they had no clue they were going to get stopped. Also, I have done the hookup thing before for some people I met in teamspeak a long time ago, and it did seem to heighten their interests in the community.
I have an idea for this, so people can respond to their apps and not get denied. On the application page, say "If you have a previous server ban or vac ban on record, your application will be submitted for manual review." This will make the person applying aware that they will need to reply back to their application, or at least check it.

iPhone 4 back in 2013. It was my dad's old phone and I just needed it to call my parents.

I mean the only member acceptors are just me and @Bae. We do stay on top of them, and that is my only role so might as well do it good. Also, what happens to us then? I enjoy doing them because once in a while I can talk to some new members and get to know them.

I don't know exactly what fashion trend was going on for others but I remember wearing a lot of black skinny jeans at that time. Haha.
Yea I used to wear a lot of jeans back then, I was young tho. I hate jeans now, they are so damn uncomfortable.

Do you guys remember the fashion from the 2010s and how everyone used to dress so differently? What was the main fashion trends in your area, and did you also participate in them?
In my experience, everyone wore OBEY hats and had those large ear piercings. It was such a strange time, the peak was right before the social media boom in 2013 I would say. I think these fashion trends ended after 2014 though. The word "swag" was still popular, unfortunately lol.
I am asking this because I just remembered that time and realized it was a forgotten memory for many people.

I agree with @Cuddlecakes, mint chocolate chip is the best. Vanilla is also one of my favorites, but only the good ones that you can actually get the flavor from.

This was a chaotic discussion in Discord the other day because the words "retard/retarded" were banned (and others) without any warning. I personally agree with banning extremely offensive words such as racial slurs as they are inexcusable in use, but some other words are used on the daily, like the two in question that day, that are used without intent to hurt anyone. I can see why some would take offense, but it has never been an issue up until now unlike other known terrible words. I feel at least giving the community a small warning/reminder that these words on the list are a no-no as well as allowing for some to be discussed by the community.
I agree and I was apart of this discussion. Banning the word retard was kinda strange, but the no warning was just stupid. Saying rarted got me manually warned. It is not a slur, it is offensive towards those who maybe mentally impaired, but we aren't using the word like that.

I feel like FaceTime, iMessage, and Airpods alone make the iPhone such a good buy. Personally I feel Android is a little too complicated.
Yea theres so much good stuff you get with the iPhone.
-
I have an iPhone 11 currently. The exclusive items like iMessage and FaceTime are huge bonuses with iPhones, especially where I am from, FaceTime gets used all the time. The smooth bluetooth experience with AirPods and the Apple Watch is also a huge plus.
People make points like "Android is more customizable", ok, but I don't want that many custom features on my phone. With phones I like a nice wallpaper, certain apps in certain folders, and custom notification settings. That's all I like to do, I don't even mess around with the new widgets too much. If you want to make your iPhone super customizable just jailbreak it. I did that to my 11, but removed it after a week because it drained my battery really fast and there was so much stuff I liked, I didn't know which feature to pick.

@Bue.You failed my time check again.

#DemoteSalad for that last part.

I've been busy so I don't have time to help populate. Final exams are coming up soon so that I have to focus on.
I think even idling won't help it.
2 hours ago, Serenity said:Right now it's not populated because they are in the process of redeveloping the server. I feel as soon as the server is finished being re-developed and we can get dedicated players to play on it again we should be set and hopefully it will be very much alive again.
I was talking about like a week after launch, most of the time the population was like 7. Me, Jarm, Bunny, and a couple others only played.
-
So, why has the server crashed in terms of population? I haven't seen the server pass 10 people for a long time now, if I am just blind, then call me out. Also, I am not shitting on anyone on the staff team, I haven't seen a fault in their part.
I think there are a couple factors relating to why the server has been empty. I think the biggest one is that GMOD is just dying in general, especially DarkRP. All the DarkRP servers are garbage, ours was actually pretty good. I don't play GMOD too often now because I have done everything. DarkRP is just the same cycle. Build a base, make money, buy stuff, make more money. That's all it is. Purge was unique because the 10 minute window was chaos and it let players RDM without any consequences.
Another thing for the server specifically was the disease system. On launch day, someone decided to make a virus that kept killing you and that person did not make a vaccine for 45 minutes. I saw a lot of people irritated by dying every 2 seconds and a decent amount of people just straight up left. The disease system is one of the bad things on the server and I would have advised against putting it in.
Why do you guys think the server has been empty?

Beware of Scammers

One GFL member who used to play on the TF2 servers when they were brand new had her account hacked unfortunately. The scammer who took over her account tried to direct me to some steam "admin" and I knew at that point she lost her account. Her account name was Becky with good xhair, not sure what she's up to now.
