  1. I'm neutral. While sure, dan is known to be...well....dan, but he's an admin for a reason. There are times where he takes things seriously and does is job just fine. However, while he has done many great things, there's also a reason for his infamy. Dan has caused some drama in the past and a person who causes drama is not someone we want to have representing our community.

  2. I'm Jewish (and apparently the only Jew on GFL...), but I'm not really the most religious. I'm Jewish by law since my mother is. My philosophy is while I do believe there is a god, I don't really do any sort of practices or anything like that. I do, however, show respect towards others who do.

    P.S. I don't get offended at Jew jokes :P

  3. Since the CAs are currently working on fixing TeamSpeak, we have decided to provide a proper list of ranks and how they are distributed.

User (U) - Distributed to those who are connected to our TeamSpeak server.

Member (M) - Distributed to those who have the rank of member in GFL.

Supporter (S) - Distributed to those who have purchased a supporter package.

VIP (V) - Distributed to those who have purchased a VIP package. Some users (such as Hall of Fame users or those who bought VIP years back) may have permanent VIP.

Former Staff (F) - Distributed to those who held a staff rank in GFL. Staff ranks includes community advisors, division leaders, directors, and technical administrators.

Respected (R)  - Distributed to former staff who have not been demoted or banned and were generally liked within the community.

Teamspeak Admin (A) - Distributed to a few individuals chosen to moderate the TeamSpeak server.

Server Admin (A) - Distributed to those who are currently an admin on one of our servers.

Creative Team (C) - Distributed to members of the Creative Team.

Developer (D) - Distributed to those who are a part of the development team in GFL.

Server Manager (M) - Distributed to those who currently manage a server on GFL.

Teamspeak Manager (M) - @Leks only, fuck you nerds.

Community Advisor (A) - Distributed to those who are currently community advisors in GFL.

Division Leader (L) - Distributed to those who are currently division leaders in GFL.

Director (D) - Distributed to those who are currently directors on GFL.

  4. + 0.5

Bulldog is a friendly guy and a cool guy to be around. I have seen him on teamspeak a lot, so I can confirm that he is an active teamspeak user. However, due to past experiences, I'm not 100% sure about his actual activity on teamspeak (whether or not he's actively out talking with others or just sitting afk in a room). That could change once he gets admin, but other than that, he gets my approval.

  5. +1

Bigtime knows how teamspeak works and is pretty friendly to others. He's worked with many people who have already used teamspeak in the past and I'm sure he would be useful in assisting current users as well as future users.

  6. Admin Management

Have a good staff of admins keeps the server under control and can improve the overall environment of the server. Admins have to be willing to put a little more effort into the server and will be on the server when there are bad times.

Knowing the size of your admin team is something that people may have not thought about. An improper amount of staff can actually affect the server.

    MORE ADMINS V.S LESS ADMINS

-More admins will reduce times on the server where there is no admins on and more authority will be enforced.

-Having more people around to help can be a good thing.

-However, having a lot of admins devalues the rank of admins as players begin to believe that getting admin may not be as hard as it seems and will either not respect admins as much, rush to apply due to it being "easy" to get admin, or even both. Also, more admins can lead to a higher chance of abuse of power or mistakes that could damage the server.

-Having Less Admins can be useful since admins will have more power since there are very few.

-You are essentially giving few people access to commands so there is less of a chance of abusive behavior or mistakes.

-However, with a low amount of staff, there will be a lot of times where a lot of chaos happens on the server because there is nobody to enforce the rules.

As you can see, there is a little bit of thinking when deciding how many admins you should have on your admin list. The exact amount all depends on the server and the population. As you get more used to managing the server, start thinking about the size of your admin team and if it is making an impact on the server.

    ADMIN TRAINING/RANKS

When you first promote a player into a higher position, you should put them in a position where they can learn without damaging the server too much. This position is known as Trial Admin (GMOD) or Operator (CS:GO). It is very crucial that new admins are limited because you need to see how they perform with their new power. That being said, T-Admins/Operators should have little to no ban power or any other major command.

There are many things that happen when a player is promoted to Trial Admin. First off, since they are giving a whole new set of commands to learn, so chances are they're going to make mistakes. It is the job of you and the fellow admins to train the new recruit and make sure he learns what each command does and how to properly handle situations. Recruits also have a little mindset change when they gain power. This means that they are not going to be the exact same person as they are before and after becoming admin. This doesn't necessarily mean that you should trust no one, but it is a thing to keep in mind when observing people in their learning phase. You should be judging someones performance mostly while they have power rather than before they were promoted. All of these ideas are why they have limited commands.

Eventually, T-Admins/Operators will get promoted to full admin. At that point, you trust them enough to keep servers under control  with little to no guidance and can properly use commands. They may need a little tutorial on banning, but that's pretty much it. They can now help teach future recruits. There are also Senior admins, which are basically people that lead the admins and guide them, but not every server seems to have this.

PLEASE NOTE THAT SOME OF THESE IDEAS MAY BE DISAGREED UPON BY OTHERS AND MAY NOT BE THE EXACT THINGS YOU SHOULD DO AS MANAGER. DO WHAT YOU BELIEVE IS BEST FOR YOUR SERVER (AND WHATEVER YOUR DL TELLS YOU, OF COURSE).

Feel free to add more to this if you have any ideas or even edit for grammar etc!
