  1. I'm in strength and conditioning if that counts. My family goes on walks a LOT as well.

As for sports, quit swimming after a week (didn't want to be forced to go to practice while sick). I would be interested in fencing tho

Although it's not a Roy or Joshy length thread, this one is dense covering several topics.  The gist of it... to my understanding... is that you feel GMOD Server Admins in different game modes do not get along or work together well?  Please correct me if I misunderstood.

It's not a completely unreasonable thing though.  I hope onto CS:S Surf RPG DM and then BHOP, the rules are pretty straight forward across the board: Don't cheat and take it easy on the microphone; however, GMOD is such a mystical creature...  every game-mode is completely different in my eyes, and the rules extend beyond cheating and molds how each mode works.  When I first joined the GMOD TTT server, I was honestly *afraid* that I might accidentally break the rules- I knew that I wasn't going to cheat in the game, but when would I be allowed to kill someone, who is allowed to kill me, was I allowed to report that RDM, or was it even a RDM (what about legitimate KOS)?  I was just completely lost at first, and I totally get it when players get banned.  It must be even more challenging for an admin to hop from one game mode to the other because they've mastered a different set of rules.  Maybe cross training might be helpful, but I'm not sure how hard this would be, and especially when rules and teams can change, and if we do happen to expand in the future.

I personally feel there is high regard for Server Admins across the board, but I do feel like a lot is dependent on the Server Manager.  I've been noticing a lot of people tagging Violator in threads because Server Admins cannot undo things like karma bans.  If I were a player, then I'd be learning this message "Server Admins cannot do anything and I need the Server Manager."  I'm thinking it might be a good idea to consider increasing some Server Admin's permissions ie. they can undo console bans with the reason karma ban (not sure if we can make specific permissions like this).  That might help alleviate the burden that's on these Server Managers' shoulders, and I believe it would inherently help the GMOD Server Admins' reputations.  More importantly, it would help us get our players back on track if they're banned for simple things, and that would help preserve our fun environment (just like a server full of rule breakers is no fun, a server with no players is equally not fun.)

Some other things I would like to start seeing is maybe a screenshot of the damage logs or RDM reports in the bans, and possibly some comments describing the situation, the person's attitude or if there were any other issues ie. you had to gag them earlier or something.  I think we're doing a whole lot of "he said, she said", and while the reports are pretty solid in my eyes, I think it would be good to be more objective, good bookkeeping, and it would allow you guys to work as a team!  If someone took a look at the bans I performed, then they would know exactly what I saw.  So: If a player wants to protest one of my bans, then any of you can take a look at it and help that player, and it would be easier for the team to make a decision if I happen to be away.  I'm still experimenting with this and seeing if we can workout some systematic guidelines before I propose anything, but here are some examples.

Let me know what you guys think.  You don't need the proposed guidelines if you'd like to try what I'm doing, and I would find it really helpful for extra insight from you.  Is it too hard to do?  Did it help with your ability to make decisions, and did it help the team?

For me, I do like the idea of being able to unban karma bans, but in terms of restrictions for all servers, I personally want to recommend the trial period (if I haven't shoved it down your throat yet lol).

With the trial period, our future admins will be more efficient as they get a good way of learning without causing too much damage and we can see how they really care about the server. I'm not trying to say our current admins suck, but I just want to try eliminating bad events that come from admins.

  3. IMO Youtube trying to make content friendly for everyone is terrible. They're expecting content creators to keep their video "appropriate" for the advertisers to advertise on.

Why are they trying to make it so all videos have to be basically family friendly? What parent in the right mind would let a 4 year old go on the INTERNET without supervision? There's no need to monetize videos for many things that may be considered inappropriate. If a child happens to stumble upon a video he shouldn't be seeing (such as videos with swearing), it should NOT be the content creator's fault that they made a video that probably wasn't directed towards children and maybe the child will learn not to fuck around with the internet.

Other than the rules that have to do with being appropriate or not, there are some rules that are just stupid. For starters, theres the "no controversial topic". WHY? Are you afraid to let your viewer get views and share their opinions? The point of youtube is to upload whatever you wish to. You're going to de-monetize and age restrict videos for talking about controversial topics? That's stupid. Do you age restrict the news and restrict their pay for showing controversial topics? NO. YOU DON'T.

All in all, I understand that there's limited amount of money that youtube can give out, but to be douchebags to the people who make them money and not be so vague to them is flat out wrong. There are some rules that make sense such as the drug promotion and showing bare-naked skin. Seriously though, youtube has to stop pulling a Valve-like communication and start opening up to people more like Blizzard.

Regardless of my apparently recent ban history, I should not even be in this situation AT ALL. TheClassyBandit pulled an abusive, ill-informed ban, that should never have been done in the first place. It is a completely illegitimate ban.

1: In my ban list, 2 of my MASS RDM bans were cancelled. Both of them were due to accidentally banning me, instead of the person who actually did it.

2: Another of my week-long bans was because I, to put it simply, gave Sentiel (The manager at the time) an opinion he didn't like, and he banned me without warning.

Taking a look at your bans, what I find interesting is that the majority of your bans were done from the website. Website bans are usually done when an admin is not on (or is lazy), or when you get reported. Were you reported a lot by any chance?

Back to the topic, I would wait for @Violator to decide your fate at this point since it's usually him that makes the final decision. Who knows, maybe he'll give you a chance. However, what I'm saying is that with this many bans it's going to be a little difficult, so good luck.
