I've literally stated in the first reply this change isn't about GameTracker.

Not sure why you guys are so hung up on that still.

Because it's a disingenuous statement. Sure, the server is damn near always full during peak hours especially if a popular map is being played, but even I've noticed the lows are now lower during non-peak hours since this happened and I don't even play ZE or CSGO as much these days. Spectate had been the same for YEARS. I remember when the server wasn't always full or anywhere close to being #1 on GameTracker. All of a sudden there's a sudden change in policy that coincides with the GameTracker exclusion. That's why people are bringing it up. Please know that I'm not attacking you. I'm just stating the obvious that your original statement is kinda sorta head in the sand that any objective person would question.

  2. You guys need a few more admins. I know it was almost mandatory to be active on teamspeak as admin before. That's like being forced to hang out after work with your co-workers for an unpaid job that causes cancer. I hope that's no longer a condition for unpaid GFL employment.

Get some admins that are good people and act mature and retain them. Even if they're under the 12 year old GFL threshold they'll get it right 99% of the time. Doing too little (or nothing by not being on) is just as bad as doing too much. People are people and shit happens from time to time.

It was all me; I thought it would be fun for the CTs to make it even more difficult cuz you know, #blameloan.

In all honesty though, no one changed the knockback. Its the sv_penetration that changed to reduce the server lag. We're looking into the knockback.

I knew it was all your fault but I didn't want to make it obvious.

sv_penetration (hehehehhehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe funny name) shouldn't be the sole reason for weird knockback (it's not just nova that's weird btw but it's odd that one var would cause it) but i'll let u hooligans figure it out since that's what you get paid the big bux to do.

Just know u can't slip stuff like that by and expect we the people to not notice.

  4. ze_UT2004_Convoy_p2 is going to be a waste of time. Get to final boss and lose 10+ times.

ze_fapescape_rote_v1_3  is a very well made map but GFL has <5% chance of beating any levels beyond ex1

ze_destruction_of_exorath_v3_1 is very long but could be beaten with a VERY good GFL team.

ze_minecraft_adventure_v1_3d should be a certified win with the right leadership.

Let's not get carried away. Vote wisely.

  5. We play santa so much because people want to play santa. There are tons of casuals who want to play specific maps during the few hours of free time they have after work or school.  I PERSONALLY don't see the problem with the playtime as long as the server stays full because people enjoy it.

The server is bound to crash because of all the maps & plugins, but don't underestimate the amount of maps that get RTV'd before 15 minutes throughout the day. Many well made maps get RTV'd because they're constantly and quickly losing.

Another suggestion for a fix would be to limit nominations to VIP only. You'd cut down on sh*t nominations thus increasing nominations being randomized. It'd possibly inspire more people to buy VIP.

when we have a team that can potentially beat santa

    LOL! :klappa:

Didn't Kim Kardashian increase the counter before a map could be re-nominated earlier in the year. There was a post on the old forums on the same issue regarding Frostdrake. That's the easy fix.

Otherwise, why don't YOU offer to write the plugin yourself? You're learning to code anyway. It'd be a nice side project for your portfolio and if you pitch in enough I promise you'll finally get a reserved slot. Two birds, one stone.

edit: While you're at it Fidler, you should write a new plugin for the points system too. I think Mapedores has a nice one that you could use for an example. Happy coding!

If you are playing with a supported Nvidia GPU, you can use Shadow Play to record the game with no FPS loss. Same thing with AMD, you use plays.tv ( require registering to change output setting ). They all came bundled with the drivers

With OBS you can use eliminate the load on your CPU and maintain your FPS in CS by utilizing the Quicksync options under Advanced settings if you're Intel or VCE if you're AMD, or the NVENC option if you have an Nvidia GPU. This should be preferred if you're recording at high bit rates or >1080p48fps .
