  1. These are quite odd names for your "friends" to have.

Even assuming these were your friends and not alt accounts of yours. I find it very hard to believe they went and used 10-15 accounts to harass the Discord and spam porn without any strong encouragement from you. Especially considering this occured over the course of multiple weeks, and was not simply a one time fiasco directly after your ban.

You were banned from all platforms due to the severe nature of what you were doing (spamming porn across multiple Discord accounts), and because you started joining other GFL discord servers with your alts and acting up there too, triggering a community ban. Therefore this isn't technically the correct place to appeal this, and I'm told you should be given some option to appeal when you login to your banned forum account.

The player count is lower right now simply because it always is at this time of year. It is common for schools/uni to have finals and for people out of school to travel on vacation in December. You can simply check the average player counts of other CS:GO ZE servers to see it isn't a GFL specific thing: https://www.gametracker.com/search/csgo/?search_by=map&query=ze_&sort=0&order=ASC&searchipp=50

This is mostly correct, there tends to be a player drop off from September when school starts back up. However, it's never gone on as long as this before, and it's undeniable that the player numbers we're seeing are not normal anymore. Other servers are also seeing a similar drop off as mentioned though, so this issue doesn't seem to be currently specific to us.

Feels like the amount of players are consistently low compared to other servers.

Despite the player drop off, I'm not sure where this is coming from. We have still been holding the #1 or #2 spot on GameTracker throughout this drop off.

Perhaps even consider a smaller pool of maps until the number of players reach a certain limit? Many of the maps aren't possible to even nominate without a certain amount of players, which we rarely reach the hours im playing 😟

I'm a bit confused as to your point here, as these sentences seem to contradict each other? Player limits do create a "smaller pool of maps" by removing difficult maps that need better/more coordinated teams. However on the topic of player limits, there will be some overhauls in this area soon to work better with the current player number situation.

Or at least lower the "has been played recently" limit to allow popular fun maps to return?

Player feedback has been overwhelmingly in the opposite direction of this, as per this thread which was linked earlier. The changes I mentioned in my post there have been implemented recently.

I know balancing is a never ending job, but we have a problem right now, it's really tiresome of every server restart going to icecap and people not rtv or vmm and neither play it seriously and when vote starts we go full cycle of the same maps. When was the last time we played notredame or maybe crypt? Those are not great maps but they never see the light of the day because when dustescape, spaceflight or boatscape gets on the list people just mass vote it and play it 20 min straight with a score of 0 - 10.
I'm all in favor of removing some maps to favor others from rotation.

As mentioned above, map CD was recently increased to get a little more variety in the map picks. Ultimately though, it is up to the playerbase to decide what they want to play, and outright overruling that to what you prefer would likely just cause player numbers to drop even further.

Not only is this appeal extremely barebones, but you had 6 chances to "not break any more rules" and yet continued to do so, resulting in this perma ban. This isn't even to mention the other numerous ebans, mutes and gags you got separate from a full server ban. Clearly you were only here to cause trouble, and it's going to be quite a while before we can even consider giving you a final chance.

I don't see how my response to your last appeal a couple months ago has become any less true. Given how prolific you were at breaking server rules, I highly doubt you "don't remember what I was banned for".

  4. I actually did already have a small global cooldown increase planned along with some other mapchooser config changes a couple months ago. But I held off on implementing them due to the aforementioned player drop off we had (pretty typical for beginning of school every year), as I was bound to hear some people blaming it on the changes. However, player counts haven't increased again as fast as I expected, so I'll probably just go ahead with these soon.

Before a CSGO SM/Admin jumps into this thread, what maps are a problem? The only maps I see played more often than not are ze_mapeadores_museum and different versions of ze_crazy_escape. Pretty much everything else gets played way less than once every two days. My guess if you feel like the same maps are played over and over again is because you just spend too much time on the server and the time between each map feels shorter than it actually is.

I'd like to touch on this too, as we do prefer to use custom cooldowns on specific overplayed maps rather than punishing everything on the map pool. I haven't really been keeping on top of this lately, and will definitely bring these custom cooldowns more up to date with the playing patterns of the server along with the other changes. Unfortunately, it is currently an intentional choice to have mapeadores_museum with a low cooldown, as we have been working to track down a rare & random heap corruption crash these past few months since the Linux switch, and this map seems to trigger it more than any other.

  5. The previous skin swap (and future ones) are decided based on newly collected usage statistics for each skin. So if this is truly a problem, I expect it to sort itself out with what we're already doing.

Unfortunately, there is no reliable statistics I can really use at the moment. This is because ZR stores the selected class as a class index, and these have been shifting a ton the past few weeks as we removed/readded models for crash debugging. So many people may have models equipped they did not actually select.

  6. We have re-added fixed versions of the following models that no longer cause client crashes.

    - Half-Life Zombie (Public)
    - Zombie (Public)
    - Female Zombie (Public)

Gorefast and Mummy are therefore now back to being Member models as well.

Also, we have a 🎃 event upcoming:

  8. Client preferences have been reset, we do this every few years to clear the database of old cookies, and data for players who are long gone (we had nearly 5 million cookies saved!). This means you will have to readjust your settings the next time you join.

  9. We've finished the debugging mentioned above, and have identified the cause of the client crashing to be some models compiled with old animations, these models were:

    - Half-Life Zombie (Public)
    - Zombie (Public)
    - Female Zombie (Public)
    - Combine (Admin)

These models have been removed, and we will be looking to update or replace them in the near future. Since we lost all our public zombie skins to this issue, we have temporarily changed the Member Gorefast and Mummy skins to be public access instead.

  10. We're temporarily disabling some stuff on the server to try and diagnose the cause of recent client crashes after the Operation Riptide update. This probably won't be in place for long, but do expect things to come and go over the next couple of days.
