I'm gonna be really busy this Saturday so I won't be able to make it. I HIGHLY suggest that whoever is gonna lead go offline and try to find some strats to beat Extreme Act III. This event will not be beaten unless we can find a consistent way of beating the bosses, not dying to npcs, etc.
For example on CSS they found that the M249 does higher damage to bosses and npcs per shot than other guns so bosses melt really quickly. There also is a spot where Big Santa wont detect humans for the HP multiplier so it has like 2000 HP and dies instantly. None of these should apply to CSGO but if we can find something as good as that, the event may be a success.
I wish all of you who come to this event good luck beating probably the most difficult ze map ever made.
That hp bug got fixed in cs go, also a leader cant make people dodge santa only personal skill can (we got to fat santa on gfl couple months ago but that was when gfl played santa every 4 hours) that being said only thing that can help the cs go version rn is a good cannon and peoples skill (also not having braindead heals helps since you can heal during 1st santa if you don't waste 1 heal). And vinz I know your pain hoho I won't be home that day cuz im on vacation so hoho

Map(s): Slender escape
Restrictions/Limitations:
Not really any, I don't think there's a CS:GO 'Full/madness' win so I think this could make a worthwhile event, but I'll add some notes on 'Others'.
Event Time preferred: Any time that organizers see fit.
Others: For lvl 1-3 we could add some fun limitations since they are very straight forward and simple (since it's close quarters maybe start with pistols only, then if that proves too difficult change to shotguns only and if that still proves difficult just change to normal setup and try to get the W.

As for the two random maps, it will at least function as a safeguard in case they don't like the maps that were so quickly nominated.
This is what I liked about the idea but was unsure how it would work.. If I may add something :
2 hours ago, ALWAYSWANNAEDGE said:1 = no vote
2-3 = random maps
4-8 = nominated maps
9 = extend
I'd argue the 2 random maps should be the last (so 7-8=randoms,2-6=noms), since it's a safeguard they should be away from the normal voted maps of 4-5 so we don't have the random voting of maps (for example ppl voting 4 as vote comes up without seeing it), so they would be 7-8 so people that wanted to vote those maps would need to see what map it is and not vote randomly, this being an attempt to give nominated maps more importance.

Again as block said this just seems that you are trying to fix something for yourself and not the entire server...
I think the no nom day thingy got answered already so I'll give my pov on your suggestion..
While it is not that common as you say that maps on the nom list are 100% tryhard or 100% casuals (if this is the case there's a big chance the server is full with one or another type of player so having 4 tryhard and 1 casual map would make no difference), your suggestion still intrigues me.
The first thing that came to mind when I read your suggestion was what happened 2 days ago. We decided to play tilex since it was on nominations and we were on round 3 winning and almost on round 4 when we had the first vote... most of the server was happy to keep playing tilex but 60% of the people voted minecraft... after minecraft the server only had 20 people online (10 being the "tryhards" that wanted to extend), so what happened to the other 40 people that wanted to play minecraft??? if they wanted to play minecraft why would they leave? A large amount of people on the server right now (both tryhards and casuals) will vote for a map they don't care and leave if they dislike the current map, so having 2 more options would just help their behavior (tryhards also do this when casuals maps are being played so both "parts" are to fault here).
Also playing only tryhard maps or only casual maps does not kill the server at all. When hydreigon release westersand (since you are arguing against tryhards I'll only give their pov) the server filled every time at around 10am PST and there would be a wave of "tryhard" maps that kept the server at 60 for 3-4 hours, that said if somehow a casual map was voted it would empty (same how if voting a tryhard map during casual hours it empties for a bit).
So your suggestion does intrigue me and I hope I could be clear but these are what came to mind immediately as to why I don't feel it would be an improvement.

Map(s): Naraka's maps (similar to how we did with Luffaren).
Restrictions/Limitations: Crazy escape->Pistols only (up until boss where people can use anything they want, since boss is very far away so we actually need regular weapons to kill it), if this can't be done (allowing different weapons on different parts of the map), than we could do riffles only (they should have the reach to kill the last boss)and unless this proves incredibly weak against the last boss I suggest removing this but for s3 only (other stages should be fine with this limitation).
Project alcaria->This one would be heavy only (or whatever you call the shotgun class in game), so only negevs m249 and shotguns, the last boss demands a lot of mobility so this should be a fun limitation. I'm not adding a harder limitation since the boss has a time limit.
Event Time preferred: Nothing preferred.
Others: I pointed these out since most ppl only know naraka for crazy escape and she has other maps that are quite good in the old school ze style and are very fun and chill. Also I pointed these maps since they are the most famous but if you would like to add any feel free to add.
Now I wanted to just point something that I think we could do and originally was @xZephire 's idea which was play maps that are higher than 150 MB , this would be done during Main Event and we could have maps like portal story v3 ,sit caelum, tyranny ,etc (I just copied some maps from his post I really think this is the perfect spot to do it if he does want to get this idea forward).
In addition we could always have an event to beat unbeaten maps (I won't suggest any since I'm not in a very try hard mood right now as off the writing of this post but it could obviously be done.
-
Make the labyrinth from poe where it resets every round you fail and changes everyday... 10/10 idea lol. But yeah some good old maps got removed I guess cuz they weren't played (defense 3003, k19 etc) old maps that I remember playing ~4 years ago and were very casual and allowed for a good time on ze servers.
-
It takes very little to be "good" but it takes a lot to be one of the best tbh (come at me salt bitches I'm waiting and need my
) Also I responded on nied post and I'll tl:dr it here.
Lasers if you are into them.
Fuck around if you are or aren't into option 1.
That's all that keeps me playing ze,.... if I didn't have a mic I'd probably be playing something else->ow or wow since I know some people who play them.
-
Your points are all very valid but iirc both of you haven't played this since 6+ years ago like OP or me...since it's hot af and I need a drink I'll keep it simple.
If you use an item always the same way->you never improve or learn what could be best->we use 2r 2p 1lH 1sS on diddle and we were talking about dropping 1 push for another item for example.
Also most of the times what's fun in a map is how outrageous someone fails with an item and how the outcome impacts everyone, finding new bugs and just changing the normal way the map would be played out.
Now I know the op doesn't like tryhard maps (lasers, schling etc) so that's what I think breaks ze for you nied tbh. Lasers and shit do get boring but you can try new things on them as you want (backwards, 360, crouch jump only, jump all) and keep them fresh-ish. Now for normal ze there are some casual maps I miss from long ago *cough* defense 3003... that people hate but that I remember were overplayed and we just used to fuck around on... Best way I keep it fresh is fucking around with people on voice chat and when it's a tryhard map I just look for a familiar face (if we aren't tryharding our balls off) and start knifing his face to fuck around with.
TL:DR it's gonna end up boring eventually as fatty said and since you played since so long ago this is just bound to happen.

my background: i only played cs 1.5 and csgo. on 1.5 there was a warcraft mod i enjoyed. i got bored quickly with cs go. i wanted as many enemies as possible. so i searched public games with the most players possible online. thats how i came to ze maps. i come from zeus, to mapeadore to gfl. i left mapeadores because we played the same maps over and over again. now i start to feel the same when i left mapea. we play the same maps over and over again. rarely new maps get introduced (btw big thanks to the mappers who invest time to give us new toys).
MAKE SOME MAPS GAY INCOCKNITO
No really most maps aren't fun for most ze players cuz 90% of the people just doorhug and than it's only 4 defenders which is very lame (i remember a really old and fun map and i remember playing with you nied where it was like a parking spot that went into chaos (not parking lol) and we had to defend and lot and there were like 4 different ways to go but you need a lot of defenders) so most of the times people either pick known maps (LOTR->cuz movies)(talking about general community not tryhard vs casual).
Now on the items what I personally try to tell people is the best (most efficient) way to use items, of course they can also be used on other ways but less efficient *cough* yektima is a thing *cough*,jk but really I agree that people flip out if people try different things, which is what I do a lot since it gets boring using an item always the same way.
Now go diddle gay incocknito

Disclaimer:
I asked 2 wins=2 entries as a joke so I apologize to the admin for the trouble that came to hand. Also I just posted both ss (the 1st one I am not on the scoreboard) just to show people we won twice not to enter it twice.
Also maybe fap next event since I think we never won fap on gfl?? (Fap 1 not 2).

Ez win boyz let's go
Win #1

Win #2

This was a subject talked by some people and the simple way to put it is that x person gets that status and when the mute period for votes come they don't get muted and can keep leading, the admins can keep playing and they don't need to use a bind to unmute all since there is always a possibility that among that "all" there will be spammers. Additionally leaders could have access to beacon (this can be discussed like the concept of the suggestion itself of course), but the main point of this suggestion is to put the idea out there since it won't be a change from night to day and since I don't know how gfl handles mute exceptions I don't know how much work this change can come with.
Also an idea I thought was to just create this externally as another status (like vip, admin) and people that are known leaders could be given this status (not to flood the forums with another application tab).
I tried to keep this simple and direct but any further questions feel free to post here or send me a pm on steam or discord.
Kind regards
Altek

Possibly placebo effect but I would like to add that even the shots seem to actually register now, I'd think it would work that way so I'm just here to give the results from my experiments, while before zombies seemed to "walk" through my shots (easy shots that I could see the bullet hit them), now even flick sprays seem to hit a lot more consistently, so correct my placebo if I'm wrong but my experiments tell me that this helps both movement and registration (128000 rate).

Ez win for you... I'll just go in and die at the bs heli like the other 4 wins...

I fully agree with Kiko.
But besides all this about how they should be punished etc. might be my timezone but to be honest i rarely see someone edging on purpose and it is fairly easy to tell if someone does it on purpose or not e.g. what kiko said. Other than that you can tell it by the situation by that i mean the location and with that i mean the environment and the threat an edger is to the team. I often see people dying by edging but i rarely see an edger killing everyone (losing the round)
So yeah. And I also doubt that on ze_random someone would do it on purpose most dont know the boss fight and panic and when they panic they just focus on some things and not on all of them so they would edge to avoid boss attacks without thinking of the zombies.
ze_random elevator not boss fight... if you die to a zombie in the boss fight you get pushed out and there's a 1% change you actually kill someone, while on the elevator if you edge there's a 1 % chance the team survives.
Also edging does happen a lot on closed spaces but smart people know how to hide it due to the "katana" (not gonna explain further for obvious reasons). Also maybe instead of kicking 1st time you could slay->kick->ban and repeat after kick for those who aren't first time offenders (for this to work you need a fast finger though).

Yes I am currently very involved with university but the current way I "deal" with things allows me to be active during the afternoon->noon and work on university after dinner. (I can also connect to the game during university since I only need to setup a vpn to bypass the port block).
I went to my profile so I could give a full answer to this and I have 71~hours played the last two weeks (being that the first week as I said I would be less active due to exams and project deadlines) and the second one I was doing the hydra missions with saint (this took a good couple hours (bit more than a couple really)) additionally I've also been playing rocket league with quia whenever the server gets a bit dull (as said previously I play the server for the team not the map so even if the map is good the team may not be enjoyable), obviously if I were in an admin position I would make certain that the server is fine before changing game or even server.

I also have a question i used to think that on skyrim stage 5 sovngarde you defend the 2nd zombie tp until the shortcut opens but recently I noticed that they dont do that anymore. Is there a reason for it and why is it better to not use push dova to go through the shortcut.
When do you nuke with daedric the boss as soon as you see him or when he lands , etc?
Since potti answered most i'll just add a couple of things...
I generally just use dova (any will do) and take the 1st shortuct myself, sometimes due to poor defense and lackluster skins they can panic and a good zombie can kill the skins easily so it's better to just fall back+trim for the gods.
Whenever the boss is 1-2 feet above the ground (just about to land) you nuke. This will cause the nuke do explode as the boss fight starts. Also a important thing that many ppl don't remember is that daed sword hurts the boss so after he runs into you, you should just hug the boss from time to time and knife him.
-
Since the other 2 were responded I'll take the latter 2...
Destructible rocks->I take it that you mean the wall item on fap for example, in this case you do more damage if you right click, BUT since most of the times a lot of zombies hug this rock making it hard to hit it it's better to left click since there is a higher change you will actually hit it (yes they are hp based and unlike bosses they do take all the damage they would from any gun)(imagine a 1000 hp human but in rock form).
Wanderers->There are a total of 4 triggers, 1 at the last room after you kill the boss(look up and you should see a red crystal pop up), and 3 invisible ones spread out around the map.
The 1st crystal is in the main hall (between armys peon and shield oath). On there there are a couple of pillars and on top of one of them there is a invisible crystal you can shoot.(you clearly see and hear it breaking).
The 2nd one is where you would get heal. If you continue looking at that wall there is a somewhat of a path, and where that path would hit the wall resides the 2nd crystal.
The 3rd one is the hardest one to explain and would be a lot easier if you spec someone. It is in the part just before the boss where you need to break the wall. If you go all the way to the wall, turn 180 facing the zombie teleport and look at the top right corner where there is a pseudo path that you can't actually walk on the trigger is there. Just shoot around and see if you can find them.

Had 12 hours straight of work on a project right after an exam so I had to be sorta late but just in time for the pred win (mother zm on fd boo

Disclaimer: A couple admins advised me to re-post the application since now I am above the required hours, this said if any other admin would be against this I have no problem in waiting until the 1 month threshold passes by, which I was planning in doing but since I was advised to re-post here I am. The application is still nearly the same (changed somethings here and there and will add some extra info as a sort of response to some feedback).

Age:18 (5th November)
Server playtime: 132 Hours
Timezone:UTC+00:00 but my work (university with projects mainly) makes it so I have easy access to my computer and I can access the server at any time (unless I'm sleeping...) if need be.
Reasons to become an admin:
After having drifted from CS:GO for a couple of weeks (due to university mainly) I have been enjoying GFL and the mix the community gives the players, enjoying both the try hard (section where I'd include myself in) and having fun with the casual section as well. As a old CS:GO ze player I've seen many servers rise and fall (ex:zeus) and seeing that most of zeus' players came to GFL it is only natural that I would enjoy playing on GFL as well. As to directly to the reasons it's not just the bread and butter answer of "Improving the community yatta yatta" but more of what can I bring to the community.
Reasons for accepting:
Have a vast experience of being an admin/administration service (from a young age I've helped and seen my father as the boss of his company, and the biggest tip I could give to any admin/owner of everything is that the closer you are the better the business here), also was/helped administrate an EU mini-game server for 2 years, and was admin on mapeadores for over 1 year.
Can also contribute with language skills, seeing that I reside and was born in Portugal have no problem talking to Brazilian people since we share the same language, similar for Spanish talking countries, even though I don't master it I have the general understanding of a person's intention.
As I live in UTC+00:00 timezone I can be online when it is normally night/early morning server time, so most people would be either asleep or at work.
Have and could very well use a mic (tend to let other partners lead and focus on my game since they are more known for leading , *cough* Unorth), but if need be I can and will use it. Have a big knowledge of most maps and have no problem on using external programs (ex:Discord).
Additional info:
Don't ask me why but my brain farted pretty bad and I had something in me saying that the discord was admin's only, this said I joined discord later on as most probably already know.
@Vauff mentioned that playtime during "casual" maps is where most admin power is required, and I have no problem playing during those hours. What makes me enjoy GFL is the atmosphere and the players, not the maps. Many times I voted for something like Jurassic park over Mako or any other tryhard map since the team wouldn't enjoy playing mako and would probably rtv it.
This week I will have lower up-time on the server since the semester is coming to an end and I have 2 exams+3 projects for this week only (finals only finish mid July (rip
) but this doesn't affect my up-time since I can create the 1 month project from home).
Points to improve:
I have my own ways to talk and "lead" (psycho altek *wink*) and I hope that doesn't actually affect anyone but if any problem with these "jokes" could come to surface I would have no problem in being more professional and "normal".
More hours on the server and interact more with the NA admins.
Best regards

Bosses (at least skinny santa) are stronger than the old version, meaning that they are faster, deal more damage per hit and also have more hp.
As for tactics on boss as mjong said smg are superior because cs:go doesn't have the hp bug meaning we can't cheese and 1 shot the boss with high fire rate weapons aka negev m249 so we have to do it the old fashioned way. And since cs:go (to my knowledge) has never beaten Fat santa and gotten to extreme truth we can't speculate on how to play there or if there are more mobs on different places etc, but i'd argue using 1 heal during small santa (we normally waste 1 heal so we can never use it on this part) and 1 heal during fat santa could be the best way of saving the most ppl (this one would be used after fat santa was killed or at the entrance to truth level.
