 And no offense, but you've had no impact on this community (yet). I'm not sure why there was an emoticon relating to you, especially since you're new. If higher ups are giving away free emoticons to people, then I want a :bomb: , and then everyone else would want their own.

And of course,  is a pointless emoticon, not sure why that's here.

Like Twig said, a straw only has 1 hole because of its depth (which makes it seem like 2 to you).

If you pierce a sphere with needle, it only has 1 hole because it's not separated by anything. It's just one "long tube", because it has a beginning and an end, but it doesn't mean they're 2 holes.

 

If it's still not clear to you I don't know what else to do to make it even more clear.

There's probably no point in even trying to argue about this, since this is obviously a paradox-ish question.

Straws have 2 holes. Just because they're connected with a long tube doesn't make them 1 lol. 

If you see 2 holes in the ground, but turns out there's a tunnel in there that connects them, does that make it 1 hole? No.
