Adding/Removing Maps

Quite a few of the maps that are currently on the lineup are not being played as well as maps that are being over played.  I really enjoy playing the classic maps such as ski, legends, rebel, and skate.  There are less frequently played maps that are also good like japan, big loop and either of the "monster" maps.  Removing less played maps and adding newer ones seems like a good idea.  I don't suggest removing maps that get played 1 out of 5, but removing the maps that rarely get played and replacing them with newer or older maps that have popularity or need to gain it.  I don't have a list of these lesser played maps as of yet but on my next visit to the server I will look.

I am sure one admin here will not agree to the "bigloop not being frequently played" part.

Otherwise I think this is a good idea, we don't need the maps the community doesn't like to play

Yea, surf_enjoy was my idea, I had a good feeling about it, but community did/does not. If you find new maps, send them to Thomas and he will test/upload it. Sadly, Thomas cant upload workshop maps, so its a bít harder to find one to download. But I agree with removing some of them tho.

Meanwhile NA surf is still missing some maps from EU surf.

For example:

surf_bedroom_slayer

surf_machine4_go_b2

etc.

 

Those maps suddenly disappeared from the nominate list and the disappearance was never explained.

recently just got surf_forbidden_ways_reloaded back on the nominate list.

A lot of these get played now that I'm looking at the list.  I think monastery, 10xinferno, warpedblue, year3000, 4fun, enjoy, and aborhhence could be taken off.  Personally i'd like aztec ruins, ski devias, and candyskate gone.

Inferno and warpedblue is being played, not saying a lot, but some kind of. Only bad thing on devias is start music, lol. But yeah, I agree. Some maps are just passing away at map votes, all of them are on list.

Do you mean surf_akai_final?

If you do, that map is just camp in spawn and shoot through glass.

 

Anyway, surf_4fun_2015 was ok but the music is 10x the normal volume in game (1).

It will be nice if someone would remove the music and recompile the map.

 

Here is an idea, someone should make a surf map upside down to play with sv_gravity -800, it would be a challenge for us all and fun.

cs:go doesn't really have many maps for rpg, so I don't really feel okay with removing them. overplayed maps are really good being it brings people in if I remove them then it's going to kill the server.

Actually, give surf_enjoy another I can see this map is a bit challenging but the reward for getting to jail is quite nice.

The kill button for jail on surf_enjoy can be spammed as it barely has a cool-down. That on top of the fact that almost no one likes it makes it a pretty good candidate for removal.

sadly we have no mappers that can add a timer to it ;/. I may think about having a rule for no button spamming but that will have to be a poll for the people to vote.

this is a good list but first, according to the higher-ups, workshop maps don't work.

 

On topic I will tell you about each individual maps on whether these maps may or may not work

you know what? remove all the maps we already have on our nominate list first so it won't be a pain for us to deal with it
