The goal of these changes is to make hard locking players a little harder by lowered freeze effects and slightly increasing the antidote effects. TMP was slightly buffed, and beserker was slightly nerfed. Jetpack had some minor changes to make it harder to get into spawns and spawn camp on certain maps.

          10 Levels, first level is 5 credits, Every level increase in cost by 15 credits.

          1 round per Level, Every 3 seconds

Set weapons back to default configuration, besides scout

         Scout does x1.75 headshot damage, this is to balance out the 400 HP cap

Added headshot Explosins

    Every time you get a headshot, the player explodes. HeadShot, NoScope & Autosilence were created by @Dreae

EXPERIMENT: SURF RPG to COMBAT SURF

The server has been pretty much dead for a year++ now, and the reason why can be debated - game is dying, maps are outdated, no active admins or server managers , all of the above etc.
For a few years I havent, and I still dont have the option to be on the server and play either, for various reasons.
I'll probably get some pushback from old regulars, but the server is dead, and they are not even playing anymore so....
¯_()_/¯ Might as well try something new?


This is an experiment, so just let's see what happens.
If it doesnt work I can always just change it back. Or make a lighter version of RPG. No issue at all. I'm not deleting anything.

Why i'm changing it

  • RPG COMBAT SURF is a niche gamemode on an already niche gamemode COMBAT SURF, so there might be a bigger potential for a playerbase if its non rpg and combat only
  • RPG MOD doesnt really work with a small playerbase imo (biggest reason)
    • The few amount of players that play get overpowered and kill all the new players. This has always been the case, but gets more exaggerated the less players the server has
    • Everytime I see the server is being really active most are relatively low level, and most of the new players doesnt know they are playing on an rpg server
      • The higher level the other players get, the faster the new players realize its  not a normal server and leave
      • The high level players crush the new players -> then the new players leave, which...leads to the regular players leaving.
  • Many don't have time to grind rpg lvls to compete against the very few who does
  • It's been a never ending struggle for managers to balance this server. It works with a high playerbase, but not with a low one.

The changes

  • Make all players even in terms of stats. Default 100 HP.
  •  Turn OFF the RPG mod.
  • Add a health regeneration plugin that will regen like 5 hp/s. To increase survivability in a way thats fair for all players.
  • Fewer maps (subjective choices)
    • Removal of maps ive seen perform badly in the past
    • Removal of fun (but huge) maps that doesnt work with a small playerbase (surf_bathroom for instance)
  • Use Stripper:Source to OPEN ALL JAILS ON ALL MAPS IN THE ROTATION PERMANENTLY, so players will never be stuck.
    •  Most maps arent originally made for DM, so this is a way to slightly remedy that.
  • Turn weapon damage back to their default values (apart from glock with a 30% dmg increase).
    • (weapons where altered in the past cause RPG mod either made them OP or weak (p90=too OP, scout=too weak)
  • Add M249 and p90 back to gunmenu
    • (previously removed because of the rpg mod made them OP because of firerate and clipsize).
  • Remove falldamage (since players have low HP, and it lowers skillceiling)
  • Decrease throwing knife dmg from 100 to 60 (so player dont get oneshotted)
