GMOD Imperial RP

Not going to call anyone out or cause controversy with what I have to say. This is just the way I saw it. Rick did a great job as manager. The reason why I stopped playing the server was due to certain admins, no promotions, and having to reset your rank after switching battalions. The last event I did was a shit show, I got killed due to a admin spawning so many enemies non stop and the map was huge and no one would TP me back. No idea where to go or what to do. I just waited out the rest and it ended like 10 minutes later. I was doing a good job leading the group and was crushing enemies before, but at the end, no promotion. Nothing at all. This was the end for me, mainly certain admins ruined the server for me. I support a new server being made, but I just hope proper admins are picked this time.

In my time playing on the server, far too much was spent idling due to lack of events, and all i really did was walk around the Star Destroyer/Clone Cruiser (Sorry SW:CW nerds, i'm not that well versed). Even if more events were to be thrown in to make things more active, my experience was basically a total of 7 hours alone in the spaceship. So I would recommend setting up activities to do inside the star destroyer. 
These could include;
- A firing range, a simple line with targets here and there would do so people new to the server can practice firing as well as more veteran players just practice rangefinding and weapon spread/ballistics (assuming you're using a realistic weapon pack) or just to shoot dummy targets in various poses (Droids in perhaps running, stationary, idle and action poses)
- A PvP arena for test fighting more alive and kicking targets.
- An obstacle course, useful for passing the time or trying to out-compete server randoms/friends, or some minigames like parkour, bunnyhopping if able to on the server (doubt), and wallclimbing with the grappling hook which was on the server before. (also have a gripe with this in the "recruit training" as it was kinda annoying and useless, maybe for more advanced units)
- Possibly be spawn limited due to performance/spam issues, but have people able to casually fly aircraft/drive vehicles in some of the bays in the ship. 

Aside from this, another issue, or an issue i felt personally was the recruit training. Which was far to over-complex and had needless/never used formations / attack options. It should be kept to squad leader, movement, and shooting as to what is taught. Not a 30 minute run down on how to escort 2 different types of people, different types of shooting modes based on squad leaders orders etc - this comes from someone who likes that kind of thing.. if it's useful.

Yeah, I get you. Things could've gone better, and I certainly agree with a lot that you're saying. Though if there is a new server, I hope that the bias and toxicity between players and admins does not come back because it killed my fun getting yelled at by everyone during events and everyone just being an ass to each other.

Idling was never an issue to me but after spending several weeks into playing nothing but Star Wars RP, I can definitly agree that the server needed a LOT more activity. Be it SIMs, fun PTs, or map courses like you said. Hopefully all suggestions posted in this thread will be taken into consideration if SWRP ever gets another chance.

The recruit training can be minimised and simplified, 100% agree. People who go over it in too much depth *cough* @Rick *cough* sometimes makes it even more confusing and/or people end up forgetting what was previously explained in the training. Training should be done at least in 10 minutes or less and in a fun way for everyone to understand. Still have to go over everything, but just make faster and more fun.

This can be done. Like patrol ships and other vehicles for people to have fun/train/practice.

starting a star wars rp server of anything is going to be VERY to make popular due the top servers contently having 40+ people and this is on eu and us servers. So im not sure it would work out. But i would play on it for sure to help out wherever im needed

I would love a gfl star wars server, either that or military RP.  I fully support this idea and would come on every now and then and possibly become staff. Hopefully this works out and we will have a stable server!
