What kind of punishment was it (mute/gag, server ban): Server ban.

 

Why should you be unbanned?

 

I'm not sure if there is a template for this but here I go.

I pretty much had my VPN on (Proton VPN), and direct connected to the Bhop Server #1, via the IP on the steam group. After loading into I was instantly banned, It didn't say why, it just says "You have been banned from this server.", and listed a link. "https://sourcebans.gflclan.com".
I honestly don't know why I was banned, unless it was something to do with the VPN, that may have triggered something. Not really sure.

So, I'm asking to be unbanned, because I don't really know why I was banned in the first place.  If it was a rule about vpn's, then sorry.

Hey there - I attempted to try to find this on SB, but I'm not seeing any bans on your SteamID or username - https://sourcebans.gflclan.com/index.php?p=banlist&advSearch=83&advType=where_banned

 

Edit: Just kidding. Fancy characters are a fuck.

 

Basically, VPNs aren't supported on GFL -- there is no specific rule that says you can't use them, but because we've got a fairly high population across several servers across several games, many endpoints on both free and paid VPNs are banned. We'll get you unbanned, but because you've got wonky characters in your name, it has to be done manually. Hang tight, and we'll get it taken care of.
