So I opened the forums with 161 notifications thanks to @GFLBot commenting on a ton of member applications. I had to unfollow it because it has just recently started giving me notifications for the member app comments. It isn't really a big deal or anything but I thought it would be nice for the sake of the other 50 people following it that they don't have to deal with getting spammed with hundreds of notifications from the bot alone. Yes, I know that they could just unfollow it if it annoys them, but I don't really think it's necessary for any comments on member apps to give people notifications in the first place. I hope this doesn't come off like I'm complaining, it's just a small thing I thought of and felt like suggesting.

I will not be turning off notifications for the Member Applications forum as it is used by Member Acceptors.. for obvious reasons.

Instead, I'll look into making it impossible to follow @GFLBot, this seems like the best solution to me. If you want your notifications spammed, you'll have to find another way to do it. For the time being... just don't follow the account; as you say is the obvious answer.

As a side - we expect users to manage their own content followings, that includes things like... @GFLBot. It's sole purpose is to respond to member applications, what did you expect, lol?

yeah no shit

The thing is that I've been following it for years and it just recently started notifying me for commenting on member apps, which I didn't understand why. I just wanted to bring up the fact that it started to go on a notification rampage out of the blue. Again, I just felt like bringing it up. I'm not complaining about it or saying that it desperately needs to be looked into.

Looking through your notification logs, this would have started exactly a week ago (10/09/2020). That would be because I fixed the permissions on many forums, including the Member Application forum, so it serves notifications correctly now (prior to this, a lot of Forums just didn't give them at all to certain groups; including member acceptors not getting notifications of new applications :)).

Please let me know of any other things you notice through this suggestion forum, or through bug reports (imaged below). Whichever is more appropriate.

Thanks!
