Any good free recording softwares without watermarks or timelimits?

Recommended Posts

The title pretty much sums up what i am asking.

I wish to start recording gameplay, but need a free program that doesn't have timelimits, watermarks, and that record smoothly, not choppily.

Hey!

I use OBS Studio :)

https://obsproject.com/

If you use a nvidia card, you can set OBS to record with nvidias codec, or that's how I understood it.

Anyway, you can stream with it and record awesome quality videos with multi channel audio.

Meaning you can have game sounds, teamspeak or any voice app sounds and your mic, in serperate audio channels.

I just want to attest for OBS as well.  All the videos you have seen from me were through OBS.  Thanks!  Really excited to see you step up your game.

That actually surprises me that all of you recommend OBS, because I have used OBS before, and the video quality was very, very bad, and choppy.

Maybe i just didn't have it set up right.....

I'm not good at setting up either. It depends on your PC specs, so do you mind posting specs here?

Any good website for doing that? Listing all of my specs for me?

You have to set it up to fit your PC.

It's not like fraps where you can just turn it on and record.

These are the settings I use. (GTX 970)

If you use a nvidia card the settings are pretty much what I posted above.

If you have a NVIDIA graphics card, I would recommend just using Share (what used to be known as Shadowplay). I haven't really used Share, but when it was Shadowplay I always preferred using that over other software such as OBS. It records games such as CS:S really smooth (which I assume that's what you're going to be recording, much like Joshy did/does), but it doesn't work that well with CS:GO (it might just be my graphics card or something). Here's a video of me using it when I was first trying to figure out how to use it (ignore the awful bhopping, I was a little rusty and in a rush to try and figure it out, cause it was really late).

If you have an AMD like you said you think you do, ignore this post. It might be useful to some other people though.

OBS is my pride and joy. You can set up nearly any kind of config so you can always customize it to what ever liking you choose.

I would highly recommended these tutorials they are realy helpful and will show you nearly everything you need to know.

The thing is: the nvidia experience center and "Share" aka Shadowplay cause A LOT of video lag, also its' videos are huge in size, just today I deleted around 300gb of recordings of BF4.

(If you've got an older GPU)

I don't use nExperience and Shadowplay, used it before. My games work hellofalot better without it.

(also disable XBOX DVR if you've got legit windows)

Nvidia Share, formerly known as Shadowplay, is amazing. I have a bunch of stuff recorded with it at 1080p 60fps. And I only have a gtx950. I recorded CoD Black Ops III, AC Black Flag at high settings without loosing any frames.

OBS Is okay too. Can't complain

I don't really have either of those problems, unless you count a 10 hour video on my computer from when I accidentally left the recording on, and even then that's only around 75gbs

I've had huge BF4 recordings, like 12 of them and each was 2 hours long. :P

Not to go off-topic, but do you ever delete those stuff?

I delete most recordings, but I want to find someone to do with that one, since it has a few interesting clips in it that I want to do something with. Half of it is just my desktop (cause I went to sleep and it kept recording).

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys/gals.

I plan on giving OBS another shot, and getting some help setting it up.

I will most likely PM some of you to help me set it up.
