TA Introduced:

Let's start this off with a bang; the new position of GFL. You might have seen this role being introduced by Benroy, but to clear up any questions you might have and to thoroughly understand what the Technical Administrator does, we will be discussing what exactly the Technical Administrator does. However, let’s first congratulate our new TAs: Roy, Nick, and Dreae.

In a nutshell, the Technical Administrator directly works on the majority of GFL’s servers to edit, fix, or install certain aspects of the server in order to benefit the server. They must come up with solutions that can handle future implementations and maintain current implementations and/or solutions. If there is an issue, the Technical Administrator will step in and find a solution to fix that problem. The Technical Administrator leads the Development team and is an advisor to each other in order to help fix or edit a server if necessary. They are tasked with this objective, and because of this, they are trusted with a lot of power and responsibility. Since they have access to almost all of GFL’s servers, they have the ability to either literally make or break GFL and its servers. The TAs have been hand-selected because they are usually trusted members of the community that already have important roles within GFL (e.g. director) or were in such roles in the past.

The role of Technical Administrator is certainly a bit confusing. They work on several things behind the scenes without everyone knowing (mainly because it’s too complex for them to understand it). They detect errors within the servers and work hard to fix it. Anything they do is done with haste and efficiency in order to benefit the community. Again, welcome our new TAs to GFL. Remember - they might be working on your favorite server right now!

Trusted Reworked - Community Advisors:

The people with the Trusted role are there to advise the higher-ups with their own perspective and knowledge to better the community. However, due to inactivity and a lack of proper opinions, it was reformed and renamed "Community Advisors” with a more serious and effective outlook on the role itself.

Traditionally, the Trusted role was given to the people who were a long-term members. Said people were all most likely ex-team members/leaders (Though you can still be a Trusted while active, it was just highly unpopular). These members/leaders would professionally renounce their current position within GFL and be given the Trusted role by a Director who has seen this person's potential for the position. The role was removed from the community due to the fact that, in the eyes the masses, the role was “ineffective”, and was basically a retirement home for ex-team members and leaders that were doing nothing for the future of GFL.

People with the new Community Advisor role have no permissions, but are solely just advisors. Members with this particular role do not necessarily make decisions, but are there to help Directors, Division Leaders, and Server Managers make decisions that will be best for the community. The higher-ups are the ones who make the final decisions, a veto system that will make our changing mechanics work better without the constant removing/adding of roles.

Promotions of The Month:

In late March, Benroy, one of the Directors for GFL, announced that 4 people will be promoted! Out of the 4, 2 people by the name of WigglesWorth and Liloz, were promoted to the role of Director because of their leadership skills and their experience working with GFL. After that, much needed CS:GO Division Leaders were now in action! Our 2 new Division Leaders for CS:GO are Leks and Cobra! They were given the DL role because of their experience with server management and determined attitudes. And added late in the month, A new Team Leader for Moderation was announced with Motorsteak taking over with Liloz01's promotion, and Fafy received Division Leader for our GMOD division.

GFL is ever changing, with people joining and people leaving daily. But these promotions will surely do GFL good! Congratulations to these staff members!

Final Notes:

Motorsteak has released a disclaimer stating “if you have any issues with a moderator, I encourage you to please fill a staff feedback/abuse report.” Glad to see the initiative already!

Subdivisions are starting to see a resurgence in population; this may lead to needing staff, public events, and much more! Check out our forums for each for more information!
