I guess I am in the minority if these are the options that made it passed the first poll but I don't really see how leaving manual behop with uncapped speed will change much at all. The maps that currently have auto bhop off can still turn into a shit fest because there is no limit.

Autohop is what sets this server apart from other mg servers. It's a big draw for me and many regulars as well.

 

That said, there are many many maps which have selectable levels which are totaly ruined by autohop. Any time headshot only or pistols are involved, people will just prespeed and backstab all over. There's always that one guy who will bhop in a circle to delay, especially on some knife maps.

 

So far the per map autohop setting has worked pretty well, but there are still individual stages which just end up getting fucked by it.

 

Still, qui bono from scrollhop only? The tryhard scrollhoppers. Most people dont have scroll wheel bound on the server. Autohop makes it easy for players who suck at bhop to be kinda good at bhop. At the very least, they can jump in a straight line to dodge enemy fire. If you take autohop away, only the scrollhoppers will be left bhopping. In skill races to the teleport to select the map, there will be an even smaller pool of people who are able to choose the map that everybody else has to play. On some maps, the bhoppers will endlessly select for bhop/longjump/race maps that only they have a chance of winning. This is unfair.

ye already seen like 10 of those hold down space and end every time and they only strafe left and right seems unfair. They only pick the thing that they want which is bhop or long jump or any type of bhop. ye seems cool to get pick the same thing over and over again by 1 person.

But, it's a more even playing field with everybody on auto. For comparison, look at maps with no autohop where only 5 or so people with scroll wheel pick the map every time. The scrollers will probably pick bhop maps.

 

Moreover, on maps with longer races or bhops, ppl who are bad at scrolling will be left in the dust even more so than they are now.
