Should we rely on AI and technology for our sake of the future?

Recommended Posts

As the title says.... Do you think we should always rely on AI and technology as we grow and evolve as human?

With the technology getting more advanced, and people working on AI and improving them by having them generate and paint what we look like IRL (the result came out creepy via Twitter).

I do think at some point AI will outsmart us, possibly in near future.

I personally think we shouldn’t rely so much on all this technology before we know it all we have will be technology basically controlling us I think if we use more like stuff we used to use so we don’t let technology control and ruin us

Honestly, I'm all for AI. Whether it's used to preserve human life, or used to create new life. It's very fascinating as a concept, and I anticipate much like you would anticipate the colonisation of Mars. However, there are ethical concerns with AI, but because that's so far from now, we don't need to worry about that. However, getting back to the original topic, I think AI could be used for several amazing and useful things. As long as programmers are careful with the AI, we won't have anything like SkyNet happen. Hopefully.

I'm not worried.

What make you think about it? What if AI decides to go rogue and attempt to end humanity after learning dark history?

We definitely shouldn't rely on ourselves

AI is really not as good as some may infer it to be; it's still in its early stages despite all the smoke and mirrors.  Critical and creative thinking skills are very non-linear, which is difficult to reproduce.  Consider this: We haven't made a genuine random number generator; it's all pseudo, and it's something of high interest for security applications.  I've seen places use radiation to seed their random number generators example (https://www.llnl.gov/news/lawrence-livermore-scientist-develops-uncrackable-code-nuclear-weapons).

You're more in danger of people like me who can extrapolate your information using machine learning.
