Hard drive problem?

So i was playing a video game and my pc crashed hard. Now when i turn it on it does the standard booting up sequence until the hard drive has to kick in. Then its a black screen, and any button i press including f2 and f12 make clicking noises out of the back of my pc. Most likely the click of death vut if you have any solutions besides from hitting it with a large hammer then please tell me.

Nah if its clicking its done for. You can probably take it to get any data you want off of it (at a price) but other than that you're done kid.

This has actually happened to me twice so far, I never really went to go get the data transferred, but you're more than likely SOL til you get a new hard drive. You could try booting into safe mode / running a diagnostics check but other than that I've no clue.

Well its a 10 year old hard drive so I think its pretty dead.

Got it fixedishhhhhhhhhh. But the only thing i have to backup is... nothing because everything i have/care about (aka steam) is on cloud i just have to install things.
