Opinion : admins don't inherently deserve respect and the player disrespect rule is unfairly enforced.

People don't follow rules because admins are respected, they do it either to avoid the consequences or because they don't wish to do something negative such as trolling.

Well this is the last time I will be making a comment on this post, but I was talking about the admins muting for admin disrespect and like @JGuary551said the behind the behind the scenes stuff you do not see. Obviously though you did not see how I was correlating that all together. Also I am not trying to prove a point on anything, there are many sides to it. Finally answering in a very unprofessional way to me seems like you are just trying to start an argument with anyone you can, I would recommend responding in a more professional way but who I am to say anything. i feel the urge to point some things out, since this thread started mostly because of my recent ban of kakarot and people keep asking me about it.

most of you know that i am one of the most calm persons on this server and it really takes a lot to make me do a decision like that which i am not proud of and which was in fact wrong for a "discussion" about my recent inactivity on the gfl ze server

 

this is a bit offtopic what i write now, but let me get to the point:

don't you think that when you've played gfl csgo ze for over 3 years and 2 of them being admin gets you bored or exhausted sometimes? i have literally played only ze on gfl (and no other games) during that time because i had such a good time playing here, playing many hours per day and kept the server clean from a lot of cancerous players during that time. From playtime perspective to this day i am probably still in the top 20 highest playtime of all players on the server.

But at one point in time you will get bored (or exhausted from being an admin) which is pretty normal for anyone who plays a game for too long. everyone needs a break from time to time.

 

what i want to say is: Being an admin isnt easy and can get exhausting because you have to endure a lot of cancer during the playsession and this is something that most people forget about. without the admins taking care of the players you wouldn't want to play here that often. but all of this is simply forgotten when an admin goes inactive.

from 64 players at the same time on the server there will always be a few people that you constantly have to monitor and keep an eye out for and if you are the only admin on the server it can be sometimes be too much. Be thankful (and yes, respectful) that there are people out there who are willing to do this kind of job - see it as a free service to the players.

Thanks all for the contributions, but I feel like we've gone a bit off topic. Thread was made to discuss the RULE, how it is enforced and whether admins deserve respect.

 

stop commenting about the way your own server enforces rules or some random ass opinions that we all agree with even though I love you guys (xd)

 

admins being positive people who make mistakes and do a thankless job is inarguable

I think the rule is unfairly enforced and very subjective because admins can randomly decide what is disrespect with people they dont like, the same admins who, for the most part, likely won't mute a person not targeting them with harassment. 

 

once again I opine that we should apply rule to all cases, aka no disrespect, or in no cases and just abolish disrespect rule cuz it is dumb and allows admins to mute whoever tf they want (yes i know they are human)
