Hello everyone. As you might've noticed by the name of the announcement, I've decided to promote @Infra to CS:GO Division Leader. This is something he and I have talked about for the better part of 6 months at this point, and he's had plenty of time to grow during his time with us. I now feel more than comfortable putting him in this position.
I've not had as much time as I would have liked in the past couple of months to tend to the division. This is a result of me starting a new full time job in February and not working from home as I had pretty much all of last year. I have no doubt Infra will bring a lot to the table, and I know he's hyped and driven to suceeed in this role.
I do feel there's a lot of benefits to having Division Leader duos. Though at this point each division has only had a single DL for a long period of time. I know from experience that this puts a lot of pressure on people in that position. Even with an abundance of capable managers, it can get tough being all on your own at the top. Getting someone that I know I can work with and rely on like Infra is a blessing for me.
I picked up on Infra's potential very early on, back when he was just a Surf Timer admin, Ash and I were setting up a KZ server. When we started to discuss the idea of getting a manager for it, Infra struck us both as a solid candidate based on just how motivated he was to help out anywhere he could. He has exceeded all expectations we ever had for him, and I think he will continue this trend in this position and just help push our CS:GO servers to the next level.
How we will divide up the work between the to of us is yet to be decided. I will mostly focus on our Surf Timer servers which is almost a separate entity from the remainder of the division at this point. My main priority right now is finishing our expansion to EU. This is something I'll bring Infra into the loop on so that we'll hopefully be able to release all four servers just as I had planned some time during June.
I hope you guys are just as glad to see Infra get the role as I am to give it to him. There's no doubt in my mind that he deserves it.
