Which branch?

Personally, I’d go for the Air Force and try to get into some of the missile and satellite stuff. I don’t know about the pay, but it’s definitely more comfortable than being front lines or on a ship.

I'd like to join the Marines (and actually early in high school, planned on doing so) but I doubt I'd pass their training, so just the army. I get too nauseous to be on a boat or in the air.

Depends on the circumstance. Am I being forced to join as Enlisted or do I have the choice of going to college, doing ROTC and joining as an Officer? If I can join as Officer, either Army or Air Force.

If only as Enlisted, Air Force.

If I were to choose my favorite though, I would say Coast Guard, though it has the toughest boot camp, and I don't think I could survive that shit.

I used to fly UAVs that had missiles on it. It was pretty damn fun.

I’ve loved every second of the Navy. It’s the only branch that guarantees you a shot at the job you enlist for and you can “cross rate” to other jobs if you get bored of the one you have. Military is awesome and have insane opportunities. Honestly, I’m lucky that my college pre-med path didn’t work out. The military is likely the most overlooked and stereotyped career path out there. If the American public knew how well we had it, there would be an uproar XD

Free Medical
Free Dental
Free Security Clearance (opens more doors than you can imagine)
Free college credit
Free online college while you’re in
GI Bill worth over $200k after 4 years
Access to $0 down VA loans at well under competitor rates
A guaranteed pay raise every year
Often times an annual bonus
Free travel
All sorts of tax free pay and allowances
Access to military stores that sell products at a discounted price
Free entertainment, gyms, and auto centers
Free job training
Free certification training
Opportunities for advancement through the ranks
Free TSA Pre √
Food allowance
Government retirement at 20 years to include 5% retirement matching
SCRA benefits (fees waived from credit cards, 15% off verizon bill, etc)
$400,000 health insurance policy.

And you’re a veteran when you get out who will get military honors at they funeral..

Seriously.. why wouldn’t anyone try it out for 4 short years if they know all of that above?
Plus, you can pretty much get away with doing almost nothing and still get paid.
I’m talking, right uniform, right time, right place, with a shave... that’s it. PAID.

I am not a recruiter. I just speak from experience.
I make over $90k and am taxed on about $30k...
Which means comparative to a civilian, I make well over 6 digits.
And that is before the free medical / dental / health insurance etc.

Air Force. I'm actually thinking about going into the Air Force as an officer and having them pay for my med school so I'm not drowning in debt. It'd also be nice to not worry about struggling to make ends meet when I'm going through residency.

That TSA pre check is a life saver man. Also Army gets to chose their job and we can get a contracting job from it with almost any MOS. And those contracting jobs pay big bucks. And I’m so ready to start my schooling for nursing. This military stuff has turned my life around i swear.
