The creation of Doomfist wasn't really too necessary right now because he's an offense hero, and whst we need are more supports and tanks, imo. I don't mind the newest hero being in the DPS role since the past three heroes all serve a support or tank role of some kind. As for whether he's going to be meta or not, it really boils down to the state that he is released to live servers in. He was incredibly meta before his first nerfs since scrim teams on the PTR found that he makes for an excellent addition to teams that wish to counter the current dive meta. If played correctly, his passive ability that allows him to gain temporary shields upon using his abilities will improve survivability and may give his attacking team an advantage.
