How does this game/server work?

Dystopia is a cyberpunk game on the Source engine that places the player into tense combat situations in a high-tech world spanned by computer networks. Playing as either Punk mercenaries, or Corporate security forces, the player will fight through the physical world to gain access, via jack-in terminals, to cyberspace.

Cyberspace is a three dimensional representation of the world's network. Inside cyberspace players will launch programs to hack into systems linked to the physical world while fighting off enemy hackers and defending critical systems. Gameplay progresses through inter-linked physical and cyberspace objectives, some are completed in either the physical world or cyberspace, others only by a well timed combination of the two.

The player will be immersed in action packed battles, whether the player is a heavily augmented combat mercenary armed to the teeth with the latest in firepower, or a twitch reflex cyberdecker racing to infiltrate a cyberspace node; they'll be immersed in an action packed battle. Only through skillful use of the high tech arsenal we're making available and intelligent team play will players truly jack-in and kick ass.

Anyways, I'm going to probably post a guide soon but here's how it works:

There are two sides/factions: Punks & Corps

The game is objective-based, meaning that it's about capturing objectives. It demands teamwork and cannot be won by 'carrying', each team has to work together to defend/attack the objectives. Each of the maps contain different objectives located in different areas, and these are associated with different devices which are necessary to capture them, meaning that some objectives won't be captured unless you interact with the devices that are usually located on the map somewhere. The 'punks' have to get every objective in order to win the round.

There are also Deckers, which use a computer to hack into the system, as I said before, there are different devices that control stuff in the map such as doors, objectives, firewalls, etc...

It's a bit hard to explain unless you've played it before, I think that's like the basic stuff, it's now up to you to get on the server and play. The game is a tiny bit complex and requires lots of playtime.

It's pretty good, although cyberspace is a bit complicated when you first see it. I recommend doing the tutorial.

Advice: if you want kills, class heavy->basilisk is really good.
