Hotdogs

I have been in a debate for some time about what hotdogs really are. Please help me settle this.

It's a hotdog, period. It's not a sandwich, because the bun is in 1 piece. A definition of a sandwich is 2 pieces of bread with meat in the middle.

Why is this post a thing and if there is an option for its a hotdog then it's a hot dog you pretty much answered your own question

I wanted to know what other people think.  I personally think a hotdog is a subset of a taco but that's just me.
