Operator Rank On Forums

I'll be straight to the point on this one.

 

As the title states, I think we should give people who become an Operator a rank on the forums, not just a badge.

 

For Trial Admins, they get Server Admin Rank, with the Trial Admin Badge.

 

Heck, I just saw that there is a Trial Manager Rank on the forums.

 

But for people who are operators, they are with either their Member, Supporter, VIP, or Server Admin Rank (depending if they are already admin or not), and stuck with a Operator Badge.

 

While it could take some work to code (idk computer programming stuff so it might not), I think it'll distinguish the confusion that some people can get trying to get someone for their server.

i think badge is perfectly fine. operators are very basic and dont really need thier own rank, especially since not all servers use them

Also I've never actually seen trial manager on the new forums, I know it was on the old ones though because maskiee and nubz had it for deathrun and jailbreak

A suggestion I made in the past was simply scrapping Operators and switching to Tiered Admins.  This way: They can have access to the Server Admin and (operation) Team Forums, which would likely give them valuable insight, better prepare them for higher tiers and leadership roles, and increase the probability they will invest in the community by helping these teams ie. Creative Team and Developer.  Everyone would be "Server Admin" on the forums as a follow up to your suggestion, and Senior Admins and Trial Admins can still have their badges.

 

I don't know why people here became so stingy.  We were working on the whole open communication thing, and now everything has switched to a "need" much like the military's "need to know" basis as if there's some kind of risk or cost.  I've been very unhappy with the direction we took.

The operator rank was already suggested and it was declined. Personally, we've got enough ranks already, and the operator badge is enough to identify a server operator on the forums. All that is required is look at their badges. It's not confusing with the badge, but without, it was tough to identify operators. Like Eli said, there is no point on it being that not every server uses it. The only ranks are the global ranks used on every server, hence why it starts only on admin. Additional ranks similar to admin are badges so it fits each server's ranking system.

There was Trial Manager rank on the new forums a long time ago, but it was removed due to it not being necessary. This was a thing until (I think) August.

 

EDIT: forgot to mention that Operators get a badge because it's not a rank associated with SourceBans because what they mostly do is maintain toxicity to a minimum (in CS:GO, at least). So they are members on training to admin.
