I pronounce it JIF. Reason is because my art teacher calls it that way so I'll assume coming from an art teacher I'll think it's legit.

I really don't care if the creator of the .gif says its pronounced "JIF" like the peanut butter brand.

If every person who creates something says how it's pronounced. Does that mean I can discover a fish at sea and name it dan, But tell everyone it's pronounced faggot dick, not dan? My stance on this is it's pronounced GIF not JIF as the creater does not say how the english language works. is dan pronounced dan or faggot dick? Also to be fair there is this thing called language evolution, so we might see dan pronouced faggot dick if enough people want to make that change same thing as pronoucing a G with a J sound. But again this all depends on how much we want to fuck this language up.
