CS:GO Tournament

GFL will be hosting a CS:GO 5v5 Tournament that will be held in December. Exact dates TBD. If scheduling turns out to be bothersome, it may be delayed until January. The goal is to have 8 teams participating in a double-elimination setting (I will put an image at the bottom of this post that will show you how the bracket will look). 

 

Form your own teams! Only one of the members is to post their roster as a response in this thread. (Include the GFL and Steam profiles for all members in your post). You also need to designate one contact person for your team that I or any other tournament organizer can contact on Discord. That person will be responsible for making sure their team is informed. So, include their Discord ID. Here’s an example of how I want your posts to look.

For those interested in joining but don't have enough teammates, I'll be making a "looking-for-team" channel in the CS:GO Discord where you can find people.

 

The time to sign up will ultimately end when we reach 8 teams. On the off chance that there are a lot more teams that wish to take part, we will reconsider. On the contrary, if for some reason we don’t reach the 8 team mark in a reasonable amount of time, we’ll figure something out. If we don’t have any issues, this topic will be locked once we reach the goal and I will be creating the brackets and schedule for the tournament. More information will come in the form of communication on Discord to the team representatives who will be responsible for making sure their team is informed.

 

Spectators will not be allowed besides me, the event coordinators, and any other people helping us with organizing the tournament. We might organize a stream for the semi-finals and finals, depending on the amount of interest there is in watching.

 

The matches will take place on a server I’ve set up. 

 

Prizes:

First place: All 5 team members get VIP for two months and a badge on the forums. 

Second place: All 5 team members get VIP for one month and a badge on the forums.

Third place: All 5 team members get Supporter for one month and a badge on the forums. 

 

Tournament Rules: 

• Failure to show up on time for a match will result in being disqualified and the other team advancing. 
• Stand-ins will be handled on a case by case basis, but must not be a member of another team and must also be brought up for consideration at least an hour before a match is due.
• Attempting to cheat in any way will result in the team being disqualified, as well as the people doing it being banned permanently across all GFL servers. 
• Banter is allowed, but use common sense and keep it friendly.
• If any team members plan on streaming, use a stream delay of 30 seconds or more during the match to ensure we don’t see the wrong kind of sniping.
